That exact store was Prisma Seppälä built in 1972 and was first Prisma in Finland. It got fully renovated in 2016 and that's why everything looks so new in there.

Old Seppälä Prisma building from 1972 is not anymore exist. the building was demolished and a new, larger Prisma Seppälä was built in its place. In connection with it, the Seppä shopping center was opened in the same building, with dozens of shops and restaurants.

People like to buy everything at one go, hence the markets are big but you may need a car to reach them. Decor-wise I give it to K-market (the other half of grocery monopoly) but they are more expensive, and otherwise products are similar.

We have so tiny population that distances are long. So if you drive your car for groceries and other products ofc it's sensible to have them at same place. Ofc we have little groceries near by you but prices are bit higher. We also order online (which is my fav). I live Tampere area which is kinda big city but i have 3km to closest supermarket and that is exactly like in the video. I always feel bit lost and only buy grilled chicken, black sausage (fresh both) and just walk around. I f there's something on sale...that. Otherwise i like to buy my food from local market.

BTW, not all Prisma are the same in their offering. For example in Tampere the one in Kaleva has a lot more things (sports equipment, big houshold appliances like freezers) than "our" one in Linnainmaa. In Äänekoski is a "S-Market", which is a lot bigger than most other S-Markets, and has clothing and kitchen utensils and such which you usually find in Prisma ... but not quite yet a Prisma. But it's the biggest S-chain shop within 30 km or so, so that's why. After than S-Market was relocated and enlarged, K-group built a Citymarket :) For reference: There's two big grocery chains in Finland, the S group and the K group, each has in principle 4 sizes of shops; Alepa, Sale, S-Market and Prisma, and on the other side (earlier they were marked K , KK, KKK, KKKK), nowadays the big one is called Citymarked, not sure about the exact naming of the smaller ones. We are in the S-group camp, "obviously". Also one difference is (as far I understand it), K chain is more of a franchise (store owners operate on their own, but buy products and branding etc. from K group), whereas S-group is (beside the fact that it's a coop, not a shares company), mostly owns all of the stores. Not 100%, but broadly that direction.

I go to that exact store many times a week. The prices are usually cheaper than in smaller ones. Also, it's open till midnight, and I like to shop late at night when there are fewer people.

Quite several of the big ones (Prisma and Citymarket) are nowadays open 24/7. Yes, the smaller ones are more expensive and have less variety, but I'm glad we have one of the tiny ones around the corner, for buying a few essentials on short notice (start baking and notice one ingredient is missing?), both because it's less distance, but also because it's quick in and out. Prisma ... is simply too big. Sometimes I even on the way home passing Prisma (no extra driving) I rather opt for the small K-Market because it saves time.
