I have seen almost every Angelina video out there and I've never seen her appear to be nervous - ever. The kid has the confidence of a rock.

When she was six years , Angelina met a homeless, shoeless girl when she was on holiday with her family. After they talked for a long time, she gave the girl her shoes and vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them. Since that time, Angelina has always performed barefoot in public.

Under the age of 9, too. She auditioned at 7 and was 8 when she won. Also, she sings another Queen song- The Show Must Go On. Seeing that you're from Louisiana, you'll be blown away by her cover of I Put a Spell on You.

As a fellow long time metalhead, I never thought I would ever say this about a 13 year old girl from Norway, but.... this girl is as real as it gets. I was a little unclear on if you have heard any of her other stuff or not, but if not.... you must. She has many, many (like many dozens of) incredible performances left for you to see. Check out "I Put a Spell on You" at 9 years old. In many senses of the word, this girl _is_ 'metal' ;) Also.... *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.

When Angelina was traveling in the middle east with her family at age 6yo, she met a girl without shoes who was weighing people for money, they talked about their dreams. Angelina gave the shoeless girl her shoes and vowed to perform barefooted to remember her and other kids without shoes, enough food, parents, etc. A commitment she has honored for about 9 years. No small thing that. She is special.

The moment she started singing, all i could think of was Amy Winehouse. The depth to that voice is so similar, and her run control is amazing.

You will be pleased to know that AGT wanted her on the show, but she would only go on uncontracted. She was not signed by Simon, but a few months later signed to Republic Records. She has released her first record with Republic called Million Miles. She wrote it about the loss of her Grandpa.

That 6-ft+, 13 year old sings barefoot always to bring attention to the fact that there are still children in this world who don't have shoes. Her heart is probably the biggest part of that 6-foot frame (or at least equal to her musical talents).

I would argue that she in not even a little bit nervous. See her performance of “I’m A Fool to Want You” from Norway’s Got Talent. She sings the song, at age 8, acapella in front of the judges and all the other contestants like a 20 year pro. No nerves shown at all.

Welcome to Angelina's world and her angels (fans). Great observation that Angelina has a bit of Freddie Mercury in her. I believe she has a bit of all the great vocalists in her, almost like all those greats in heaven got together and decided to pour their talents in Angelina. It may surprise you, or maybe not, that about half of the reactors who reacted to Dimash before Angelina, end up reacting far more often to Angelina. Here is a biography of Angelina I compiled which includes the story of why she performs barefoot. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman, who has chosen to keep his life private. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age after listening to Whitney Houston on RU-vid. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet and married a Japanese man who passed away in 2019. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farci, English and Japanese. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training starting around age 4. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina so moved by the poor girl, took off her favorite sea green ankle boots and gave them to the poor shoeless girl. Angelina promised the girl she would perform barefoot until every child on Earth has shoes. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina asked her mother to enter her in Norway’s Got Talent (NGT) at age 5 but that talent show had a minimum age requirement of 7. Angelina at age 6 did record a few songs in a recording studio, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 6 year old. Angelina is blessed with a deep voice with a beautiful rich tone and has always made her sound much older than her age. Many compare her voice to that of Amy Winehouse. Her voice is highly emotional which is very rare for a young girl and some people can’t accept that such a soulful voice can come from someone who has not had enough life experience. Currently 2022, Angelina is 6 feet tall, always barefoot for performing, sews her own clothes and has the most gorgeous voice in the artistry world of music. She has done most if not all of her own arrangements since the age of 8 years old❗ I see nothing other than greatness in her future 🤗

You're not the first one to suggest a duet with Angelina and Dimash, I don't think it's ever going to happen but it would be amazing. What makes me a little bit sad is that most norwegians don't know how popular Angelinas music is starting to get abroad. There was a few news articles when she attended AGT but then it got silent. I still haven't heard a song by Angelina on norwegian radio or seen anything in norwegian media about her newest single so I hope the norwegians soon will wake up and support her because she deserves it.

Agree with you about the AGT thing and Simon. This show was merely a stepping stone for Angelina and exposure to the American audience. She was not going to win because her family would not allow her to sign any contracts with AGT. Her talent is light years above being judged by any BS "super fans" or whatever they are. Angelina is the most talented, humble, caring person to come along in decades, committed to her ideals, raising millions for underprivileged children and the environment. I often think of Freddie Mercury when I listen to Angelina. Besides the inimitable voice, passion, musical intelligence, and integrity, it's the eyes, those big, beautiful, dark & luminous Persian eyes.

Of course, there are some problems with shows like AGT. They are a corporate enterprise where money is the goal. BUT, they give a platform to performers who may not be able to showcase their talents effectively or efficiently. Some performers like the Indian dance/acrobatic group that won this competition or magicians who have won it in the past or others often have limited opportunities to make an impression. AGT and others can help. For Angelina, it was a win-win situation (despite not winning the competition itself) She wanted to perform for Simon--check! She needed more U.S. exposure--check! I, like many others, didn't know who Angelina Jordan was before AGT even though many folks throughout the world were already aware of her. Thank you to AGT for working it out with Angelina's team so she would perform. This performance may or may not be the catalyst to springboard her career (We know it expanded her fan base tremendously), but it certainly affected my life. I have listened to her every day since--multiple, multiple times. For the first time in 70+ years, I have joined fan clubs of like-minded individuals. No singer has ever affected me so profoundly. The duets you want are fine, but I would listen only because Angelina is there. Dimash is a great singer but he doesn't do it for me. It's always just a performance (often over the top). Angelina has a way of touching my heart and soul moreso than any artist I have listened to. I hope you check out more Angelina. The future of music is in good hands with many choices for different tastes (whether Angelina or Dimash or Diana or Grace or Aurora or Daneliya or Angelica or Floor or Lyodra, etc. etc.). Nice reaction - did you know that Angelina already did her own version of Amy Winehouse's rehab. Clearly Angelina does not need to give up booze - her version goes - They tried to send me back to school, but I said no, no, no! She was just too bright, they let her skip 6th grade and go to 7th grade - in the end because of her international tours she ended up with private tutors - then she could progress at her own pace. By the way she published a book at the age of nine...

Angelina is not nervous AT All on stage an she says when she is singing it's like breathing to her she has sang in front of 40,000 people at 8 years old sing on TV since she was 7 and in the studio since 6 years old,,,she gets nervous on interviews and talking to people but 100% comfortable singing anywhere anytime...

She is already owner of Angelina Jordan Inc., her own label and she signed with Republic Rec. where she is a VIP. She wanted only the PR-platform of AGT, to reach the American audience. Her uncle and manager Michael said that the only way she would go on the show was a contract that she would sing with no other contractual obligations. In fact she filed a for the rights to this version of the song after she sang it.

OldSkuleNerd, I enjoyed your reaction. A lot of meat and potatoes in it! What was particularly right on was putting Dimash and Angelina in the same sentence. So many wonderful young performers in the world right now but these two stand apart. Although their styles vary by 180 degrees their end results are the same. We are in awe of them. Specifically, in regards to Angelina, she touches your heart with her soulful voice and she is irresistible. Both of them are humble, love people (particularly children), are humanitarians and, most importantly understand the effect they have on people and their goal is to spread love to everyone. They are genuine and it comes across. Of course they will be enormously successful but their goals of uniting people, sharing love with people is at the top of their to-do lists. Corny? Can't be? Well, it's true and that's why people (and I mean everybody!) not only love them so much but literally pray for them. Both have recently signed big contracts and it will help them in their global efforts to reach as many people as possible. We need to get past the pandemic in order to restore things to the way they were and, when we do, these two wonderful singers will explode and rule the planet. I've already warned fans to keep an eye on when Angelina begins to book live concerts because getting tickets will be difficult. New York, LA, Paris, London, you name it, tickets to any of her shows will be gone within hours mostly eaten up by brokers and the ticket prices will be very high. I attended Dimash's only concert appearance in the USA (Brooklyn, NY), December, 2019, and it was a full house and the building was full of love. He was introducing a song, Unforgettable Day, and told the audience he knew they were so happy he was performing and that they thought it was unforgettable. But, he continued by saying he had dreamed of one day performing in New York and his dream had come true and this day was unforgettable for him, as well. He actually started tearing up as he spoke and the whole joint started crying with him. When Angelina books a live concert I think it will be a good idea to have a team of ETM'S outside the arena to tend to the people keeling over when Angelina appears on stage (even before she starts to sing!). I'm getting goosebumps already. Thanks, my friend. Oh, by the way, wait till you find out why she sings barefooted. You won't believe it.

What you can't find on RU-vid anymore is the very end of this video, after the golden buzzer, when Simon walks up to her on stage and says "You don't know how good you are! Seriously!" This was a win/win for AJ. She didn't sign his contract, got all the exposure AND Simon still gave her the ultimate compliment.

Angelina only signed with AGT because she did sign away all her rights to do so. Angelina signed with Republic Records last year when she was 14. There are over 130 videos of Angelina on You Tube for you to enjoy!

The only reason she didn't win this show is that she & her family refused to sign Simon Cowell's contract. The audience knew how good she was. She doesn't need Dimash, she has the amazing high notes as well.

They wanted her to sign a contract and said if she didn’t, she wouldn’t win. She didn’t sign-she didn’t win. The best decision of her career! She’s not as big as Dimash, she’s BIGGER ALREADY!

Thankfully she was able to use AGT as a platform to introduce herself to the world.

Angelina appeared without a contract, and holds the audio rights to her Bohemian Rhapsody rendition. She was also complimented on this performance by members of Queen.

When Rockin Wolf heard her praise Simon he said, "She's talented but not wise." She saw right through this song. Right to it heart. So much confidence. So much control. She lost and good thing it was, though she didn't sign the regular contract either.

First there is a purpose for just about everything this young woman does. She is barefoot not to be Metal, but because she made a promise to another young girl when she was 6!! That she would sing barefoot until everyone in the world had shoes, if they wanted them. She is 13 here and she stands 6'0" tall. Terry is 6'3" and he's wearing shoes. The funniest thing is the equipment guy explaining how the mic works to a 13 year old girl that has handled more mics around the world than this guy has working in L.A.. By the way Angelina didn't win because she wouldn't sign with Simon. The other thing is she signed with Republic Records and she is their preferred artist contract and she retains her rights to her own material and I think also creative rights. Angelina is not nervous to sing, at all. This is a young girl who at 8 marched to the middle of an empty stage save for, mic, mic stand and a bottle of water. In front of 40,000 + people is Seoul, South Korea, gave a thumbs up to the guy running sound sang her 4-5 songs, curtseyed walked back to the wings put on her shoes and she was off. She has said when asked if she got nervous, she said, "singing is like breathing for me. Why would I be nervous to breathe?" Even when she was young, 7-8, a tutor asked her if she was nervous to be singing that night.She then spent the next half an hour trying to explain what nervous meant. First nobody had heard that before because she hadn't heard in her head yet. She arranged this partly because of time constraints, but also her dedication to honor the message of the original version. Did you notice as soon as she started to sing what you thought were nerves were way gone. She is nervous a bit talking to people because of the attention her singing focus's on her. That kind of attention is a little intimidating for her. She has gotten better as she has gotten older and her english vocabulary and comprehension has gotten better. Angelina will do as Angelina will do. If she wants to do things a certain way, it will be done that way. She has been in charge of things since she was 6 years old. Her bands have all called her The Boss as a true but endearing description of her place in the order of things. She has a great family that keeps her bare feet on the ground.

I know what you mean about wanting Angelina to stay pure. Her family was there in the audience and filters what she is allowed to do and protects her from restricting or copyright contracts.

As for the bare foot ... her grandmother is Iranian and while visiting her she saw a young girl sitting on a curb with a bathroom scale weighing people for change. She stopped to talk to her and then gave her shoes to her. She has vowed to perform shoeless until all children have shoes and has a charity going.

About Leo, he has a damn good cover of The devil went down to Georgia, by Charlie Daniels band. He was an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for his contributions to Southern rock, country, and bluegrass music. He was best known for his number-one country hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia".

Less then a couple hours she lives in LA. and I would really like to see that especially if Mary could fly over too. I only go down there any more except once a year when lived in Orange County I saw Jackson Browne in the fall of 1965, Led Zeppelin inMay10,1969, saw Jose Feliciano many times, Mary McCaslin at Jenifer Warnes house and Jenifer even showed up my house a couple of times.

NBC Angelina Jordan fans are mad that this teenage singer did not make the Top 5 on the season 2 final of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” We polled viewers of this “AGT” spin-off about the results that were revealed on February 17. Over one-third of the “AGT: The Champions” audience wanted Angelina, who won “Norway’s Got Talent” in 2014 when she wa only eight, to take this title too. A mere 7% of “AGT: The Champions” viewers were pleased that the dance group V. Unbeatable won the show.

Thanks goodness she didn't sign with Simon. She has since signed with Republic with the guidance of her family......First recording Million Miles. came out about 3 months ago. The Bare foot is significant the story being she was in an Asian country and saw a young girl trying to support her family weighting people for money and she was barefoot. After a discussion Angelina gave her her favorite shoes and promised that she would perform barefoot until every child in the world had shoes. (along those lines) She wrote a children's book about it.

I totally agree with you re. the sleazy world of the GT shows, but...You don't have to worry about her being exploited by Simon. I have corresponded with her father and he is doing all the right things to protect her from the vultures. She is in good hands.

She literally didn't win this one because Simon wanted to sign her and she and her family refused because of the horrible contract so I believe you when it comes to how ridiculous the shows are. Same thing happened with Dimash on World's Best, they cut up all his songs and they lied to him telling him there weren't children in the competition because he refuses to compete against children because it's disrespectful to them as they haven't had the time to train like he has. Not only were there children but one was from his country Kazakhstan too.

I believe that Angelina will stay true to herself and not change. She has the support that will carry her through the minefield that is the music industry. AGT didn't taint her, either.

For another Norwegian princess you should react to some Aurora :) Incredible musicality and also prefers performing without shoes. Pick anything live by Aurora (and there are lots of choices) and you will be moved as her music touches your soul. I would recommend starting with Runaway at the 2015 Noble Peace Prize Concert which is a song she wrote at 11. Or if you want to keep to theme of channel then do her cover of David Bowie's Life On Mars. Must be something in the water over in Norway.

I know I'm really late here, but… some thoughts: 1. If you haven't seen her performances on _Norway's Got Talent_ [Norske Talenter], you should. I know you already understand how good she is "now" (in the last few years, anyway), but I'm not sure you understand yet how _long_ she's been "this good" - i.e., singing at a professional level. IMHO, that began on NGT back when she was 8. And BTW, the comments by the NGT judges are worth listening to (/reading). Yes, they gush over her, but even though they "go farther" in that regard than I think I've ever seen on a TV talent show, I cannot disagree with anything they said. (Except perhaps I would not have said what one judge told her after her semifinal performance: that if he had not met her family, he would be "scared now for" her - by which he meant, presumably, that she was so good that one would expect her to immediately be thrown into the meat grinder of the mainstream entertainment industry. Fortunately, he was right about her family: they prevented that from happening for the next 6 years, at least.) 2. You might want to reconsider that remark about getting out of the business if you're not nervous before you perform. As others have already pointed out, Angelina has said on multiple occasions (including in the semfinals of NGT, as it turns out) that she is never nervous when/before she performs. And I totally believe her. You can see it in every performance. She never looks nervous, no matter how high the stakes are. It doesn't matter if she's singing on a live, international TV broadcast; in front of 40,000 South Koreans; for presidents and/or prime ministers; for world famous musicians; or for her little sister at home. She probably feels just as nervous in all of those situations (namely, not at all). It has been said many times (including by the judges on both NGT and AGT), that she was "born to sing". Despite the somewhat fanciful nature of that concept, I have to agree that it must be true. I think you can see it in her first singing performance caught on video, when she was 1½. And as I like to say, when someone was "born to" do something, it's not just something they _do_ , it's something they _are_ . When Angelina sings, she's not _doing_ something for us, she's _being_ what she _is_ . And why would she be nervous just being what she is? [grin] 3. It always seems a little strange to me when people who are fans of two different artists urgently want them to work together. I'm not sure I could come up with any "big name" singer, musician, or producer that I would "really want" her to work with. Not now, anyway. As she is just starting to build a "mainstream" career, I think the paramount concern should be giving her as much control as possible over the music she creates. I mean, yes, she can get help from professionals who "know what they're doing", but their contributions should be merely "catalytic", as it were. IOW, their influence should, ideally, not be heard in the final product. As for singers, specifically: although she has sung songs with other singers from time to time, she's never really done a "proper duet", in the classic sense of the term (a la Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's "Islands in the Stream", for example [not sure why that's the example that came to mind]). I'm not sure she would be interested in doing that.
