Quite possibly BABYMETAL's heaviest song (not counting ones that are mainly or entirely instrumental perhaps) and they give it to Yui and Moa with their vocals in complete contrast ... but that's the way it happens with Black BABYMETAL. The subject matter and language used are not the usual happy stuff either - they are pissed off with lazy boys and they're letting them know in no uncertain terms. All the first translations we got to see had been toned down so it seemed the language being used was more polite language than it actually was. Apparently Yui and Moa were a bit surprised too and couldn't stop giggling when they were first shown the lyrics.
💀 💕 / 🔥 😡 😡 🔥 Yes, the littlest members get the heaviest songs. : ) BABYMETAL are big fans of Metallica, so the song title is a 'St. Anger' reference. As pointed out, the song is about being angry, mostly at dumb boys. Although I think that "alternate translation" overdid it a bit. Much of that compilation video was from the Tokyo Dome concert (Black Night) in front of 55,000 people, with some footage from other shows.
I think thats awesome they are fans of Metallica. When I first heard the song gimme chocolate, I would tell people it gave me old Metallica speed metal vibes
@@justkells1090 an article exists on Metal Hammer which tells a short version of what Metallica means for Babymetal. The article thought maybe Iron Maiden might not be as accepting to have Babymetal open for them, but Babymetal was scheduled to open for them in 2020. :-)
@@justkells1090 Here is the Metal Hammer link: www.loudersound.com/features/what-happened-when-babymetal-went-head-to-head-with-metallica-in-seoul "A badge displaying the logo cutely bears the motto: ‘Kawired… To Wallet-Destruct.’" these were actually made by a fan. :-) Let's just say Babymetal merchandise sells really well, at Wembley Arena a venue used by all the most popular artists in the world from The Beatles to Madonna, etc. all performed there. Only Babymetal sold more merchandise on a single day than any of the other artists every did LOL (Babymetal has cool metal shirt designs and far to often sold out)
The song title, "Sis Anger", is a an homage and play on words of the title of Metallica's song, "St. Anger". If you look up the translation of this song's lyrics, you will find the literal translation from Japanese to English...which is very polite. But a few months ago, RU-vid user, Shoe Metal, posted the following, which shows the true aggressiveness of this song...that they will beat up sh*tty boys: Shoe Metal: "So that was using an overly "polite" translation of the lyrics, but here's an alternate translation from a Japanese person who wanted to provide a better feel of what comes across to native speakers: We haaaaate Those who think about only themselves So ugly, super ugly Don’t get close to us We haaaaate Those who say "Can’t", "No use", "Can’t go any further," So ugly, super ugly We don’t wanna hear it We’re gonna strike your twisted guts into shape Burn, burn the anger hidden inside of the heart Stop screwin around you idiots, hey, we mean you! Who wins? Who loses? We don’t give a damn Stop screwin around you idiots, hey, we mean you! What only matters is if it’s true or not We hate you, we hate you, we hate you, we hate you!!!! Don’t be a wimp, don’t be a wimp, don’t be a wimp, don’t be a wimp!!!! GODDAMN YOOOOOOOUUUUUUUU!!!!! We haaaaate Those who do nothing but making excuses Stop your bullshit, you really piss us off Turn your damn face away from us We haaaaate Those who’re bluffing about what they cannot do Stop your bullshit, you badly piss us off Go get away from us We’re gonna strike your twisted guts into shape Flame of our anger’s gonna burn everything to the ground Stop screwin around you idiots, hey, we mean you! Who plays good or who plays bad? It doesn’t mean shit Stop screwin around you idiots, hey, we mean you! You can reflect what you did, but we allow no regret Fight, fight, against the temptation sneaking to you Fight, fight, let me hear your scream of anger Stop screwin around you idiots, hey, we mean you! You’re sorry? Asking me to forgive? Well, I’ll think about it Stop screwin around you idiots, hey, we mean you! It was all lie? You were just brown nosin’ us? Okay, that’s fine. C’mon we’ll beat you down!"
I actually like both translations, but I think the "more polite translation" is probably what they were going for (or something inbetween both). It's highly frowned upon, especially for girls and women, to use "vulgar" language. I think shoe-metal's interpretation would have left a, however small, stain on their squeaky clean image, because they would have received some kind of backlash from their domestic mainstream media for it. Usually only delinquents, "bad people", something like Yakuza or people who portray one of the former use this kind of language in Japanese media and entertainment. But that's the tightrope you can always walk when translating something from Japanese to English, because most of the time it's pretty impossible to translate it word for word and everyone can interpret it however they want to. Especially with words like "bakayaro", which can mean anything from "idiot" to "asshole" or even worse.
Koba Metal, creator of BabyMetal is a huge X-Japan and Metallica fan. Metallica said " That’s what ‘St Anger’ really means to me: being able to express anger in a healthy way, instead of just shutting up and being intimidating and then raging out on someone when it all builds up." It is commonly regard as a homage to Metallica's St Anger. So it can be interpret as girl fed up with her loved one or against a random guy doing inappropriate things. Releasing her emotions. Some fans wonder why (Amuse let) BLACK BABYMETAL sing these somewhat offensive lyrics. Yet Moa Metal said like "I hope 'Sis. Anger' would encourage many people." and Yui Metal said like "This song made me stand up straight when I sang it, so I hope it can motivate the listeners even a little". du-metal.blogspot.com/2016/04/sis-anger.html (More accurate translation here) There are two songs recorded by Black Babymetal, a duo comprised of Yuimetal and Moametal. First, could you tell us about the song "Sis. Anger"? Moametal: "Sis. Anger" is such a fun song. [Laughs] We couldn't stop laughing during our studio recording. The genre of this song is black metal, and its lyrics contain black humor. I think the song was born only because of Black Babymetal. Its lyrics are scary, but if you listen to the song, it makes you laugh and get energized. How about another Black Babymetal song, "GJ!"? Yuimetal: It's a reward song and sounds cuter than "Sis. Anger." Personally, I get motivated by listening to "Sis. Anger" and tell myself, "OK, I did a good job." I hope our audience listen to these two songs in sequence. www.billboard.com/articles/news/7318798/babymetal-world-tour-metal-resistance-album-ariana-grande-interview
To tell the difference which is Yui n Moa, if you can't get it from their looks you can see from their costumes. When Yui still in Babymetal she and moa wear glove on one of their hand Yui wear the right glove and Moa wear the left glove, after Yui left, Moa costume didn't include any glove
Babymetal, somehow every song is al most unique sound, but it's still clearly them too. Well, it's kind of hard to get a Babymetal shirt, all the very best official designs are all sold out every time. LOL Maybe you'd like: Babymetal Shirt Rose Wolf or Babymetal shirt Metal Odyssey Some other stored sell that official design. But who knows, maybe you prefer: Babymetal Shirt Pixel Tokyo
@@justkells1090 I'm sure you'll find something. Not the first time something like this happened, but Metal Hammer magazine put Babymetal's first album in the "The Top 50 best metal debut albums ever"
