I have recently discovered him. I CANNOT get enough of him!! He's an interesting person, buying an apartment for his mom, not a drugged out musician, cares about his health, animals, he's really funny, and very perceptive and has worked really hard on his voice. He's too much perfection for 1 man!!! ❤😂 so much to admire about him including that epic iconic voice!!!!

His voice, arrangement, resonates through your entire body and wraps around your soul!!! Regardless of his song choice, he raises the bar so high and each is BETTER than the original!!! He isn't just a singer you casually listen to - he grabs your mind, body and soul!!!

Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli are opera singers - and then there is DAN VASC - he's not an opera singer, he's a freak of nature.

I've watched Dan's version of Nessun Dorma a hundred times if I've watched it once. He is unbelievable.

To think of Dan as just a cover guy (I'm not singling you out so don't take it that way, Dave!) does Dan an immense disservice. I think he's legitimately a world-class talent.

God has blessed him with this remarkable voice we need him in this world to uplift us in this broken down world

"Nessun Dorma" is not a song you can just pick up and sing - you have to put everything into this piece. And Dan absolutely did this justice. As you said Dave, operatic pieces are very technical and precise, and I think Dan did a beautiful job here. Wholeheartedly agree, it is "criminal" how underrated this song is. Ya! I have thought since I first heard him sing Amazing Grace, that was the first I'd heard of him. I cried , I had goose numps and just thought he's the best singer I have EVER heard. He even beat Elivis singing Amazing Grace. And thats saying something, because I never thought there would be ANYONE who could out do Elvis, but he did! I had Great respect for him. But then..... when I heard him sing this... I cried and shook and could barely breathe! I'm not joking. He has talent beyond anyone I have ever heard. His range is phenomenal! Absolutely can't believe it! I've listened to this for umteen times now, and I still react the same. He just does something to me!! I think maybe he's an Angel! Because no human can sing like that! Probably listened to this a dozen times in the last two weeks and teared up every time. There will be ‘experts’ that will probably pick-a-part his vocals but from a music fan from the Gunners to the Pumpkins to Iron Maiden to Chopin to Mozart et al this is perfection. Dan Vasc should be a superstar- should be touring and should come to Australia 🇦🇺 Whether it’s rock, heavy, hymnal, Rick-rolling or Adele-ing this bloke is now my favourite all time singer. I swear, this man is going to become a legend. I don’t think there is anything he can’t sing. Thing is, the people in the US, for the most part, do not really care for opera It demands technical precision, passion, and the ability to lead with emotion. Not to mention the opera voice. Dan is beloved by many, not only for his beautiful voice, or his looks, but also his skills, his charm, and the way that he connects and resonates with people. Even through something as impersonal as the internet. He is also humble. He knows he has worked for this, but I wonder if he really understands the depth of people’s respect and care for him.

The first time I watched this video, I had tears rolling down my face - legit, His talent is mind-boggling. Love your reactions, Dave.

Awesome reaction, Dave! Thanks for doing one of his "underviewed" songs! What better way to draw more people to his great voice than by showing he can do so much? He's truly the only singer I've ever heard who can successfully do all the genres he does.

You are not the only emotional mess when it comes to Dan Vasc. He touches my heart, grabs it pulls it out stamps on it and puts it back in. Loved it and your reaction.

I sure wish I'd "met" Dan YEARS ago, and you as well, sir. I'm entirely with you on the "moving power" of music. All I ever wanted to do was SING...and I did, for most of my life, from age two until age 58 (in 2009), when (due to rheumatoid arthritis throwing my body into contortions), I lost nearly all of my 5-octave range. I could still sing bass, and a little bit up into the tenor range, but I was so bent over that I couldn't get enough breath to reach up any further. I was still able to whistle (which I had been told over and over sounded like my Mom's beautiful violin-playing...not surprising, as I'd heard her play every day of my life). It was so VERY hard to have such limitations on my voice. Finally, I had both hips replaced in 2017, and slowly, slowly, slowly, I have been building back my voice. Now, in 2023 (at age 73), I've mastered the two register changes that I used to soar through, that I couldn't do at all, for so many years. I still can't reach into that 5th octave, but I'm getting there. Part of what helped, was buying myself a trumpet in 2020 (I used to play cornet, but hadn't been able to do that for a long time, either). That has helped stretch and hone a steady stream of air, in order to help get into my upper ranges once again. I'm still struggling, but I finally feel like music is MINE once again. Over the years, I've maintained by listening to others and throwing myself into THEIR music. Until I heard Dan sing Amazing Grace (and now I've heard nearly all of his other songs--including this one) I lived for groups like Home Free, to keep me going. Now, watching and listening to Dan and closely watching his techniques, I've grabbed onto some of those...like old memories finally surfacing. Watching YOU react to his music affects me the same way. I know those feelings! At the moment, I can't afford to add to any of my other music group and reactor donations, but I will be supporting you when I can. Thank you very much, for adding such wonderful enjoyment to my days.

When my mom heard Dan's cover of this song, she was speechless. As was I. I was already his fan and my mom became one after this song. In Polish we have a saying which can be translated as "he bought me with this" which means she was impressed and became a fan 😁

Dan was classically trained and grew up singing opera (I think). I read a comment somewhere that his father was Italian; so he was at least bilingual. He performed Elvis Presley’s “American Trilogy” in his father’s honor, and it, too, is amazing.

So glad you reacted to this one as it is a shame more people have not listened to his performance. He reaches out , dragging you along on the journey. Simple incredible. Completely understand how so many react to his songs are left speechless. There are no words - none- that do him justice. He wore his heart on his sleeve for this one. Just this morning I said I wanted to hear him sing Nessun Dorma! My comparison is not fair as I am remembering the 3 greatest tenors, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras performing this, and they were spectacular. Also, Turandot is one of my favorite operas. That being said, Mr. Vasc does not disappoint! No, he is not on the same level as the aforementioned gentlemen, but, damn!, he grabs the music with both hands and flings it into the cosmos! He displays such vocal power that ones jaw drops, though he lacks the finesse of a trained opera singer. And you are correct that he injects a great deal of emotion into his performance. He is amazing and courageous. I don't have the chutzpah to publicly perform such a well loved aria, but he does so with power, beauty and grace.

The first time I watched him sing this I immediately went and listened to Pavarotti sing it. Dan was so spot on! I think you might enjoy Dan performing Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar. Dan could be on Broadway.
