This race was in Austria, it is the home race for the Red Bull team. Max Verstappen has many home races: - Netherlands for his nationality - Belgium for where he was born - Monaco for where he lives - Austria for the formal seat of the team - England for the actual location of the team In 2023 he won all of them.

I'm Dutch, and I think most of the Dutch fans are the same kind of way, especially if we're going far in a tournament or being succesful in a certain sport, like F1 or speedskating. We have some specific ways of celebrating, some songs that keep returning for any 'orange' event.

This is at the Austrian Grand Prix, one of a few tracks that is very popular among Dutch F1 fans. It was the first track in F1 that made special stands for Verstappen fans, all the way back in 2018, three years before he won his first title. Those stands were such a success that Hungary and Belgium also immediately started selling tickets for Verstappen stands, because those two tracks were also popular among them. Verstappen made F1 so popular in the Netherlands that he single-handedly brought back the Dutch GP in 2021 for the first time since 1985

Basically, at heart we from the small country the Netherlands would consider ourselves insignificant on the great world podium. It's true, we think of our country as a small speck on the globe that nobody knows about. It's why when we do have some very talented people from our country doing well on a global scale, we get really proud and supportive. We all as fans feel a bit special at what a small country can bring forth and come out to celebrate.

This particular video is from the Austria Grand Prix (recognised by the bull in the background) and at Hockenheim Germany. Dutch F1 fans go to virtually every F1 race, especially all through Europe (and less overseas, but still you'll find crowds of Dutch F1 fans). And in the winter season, you'll find A LOT of Dutch fans at the Ice Skating (speed skating) events!

You should react to more f1 for sure! It's one of the most entertaining sports (both: races and behind the scenes). For the f1 newbies I would recomemd starting with funny moments and other bts stuff, then f1 explanation videos, and then races. Once you know the drivers, their personalities and the rules it's much more interesting to follow, even for those who are not sports fans

It's the basic beat that does it for us. We're incredibly basic when it comes to music, but that also makes it easy to follow along with, for anyone outside our language. We don't often feel like we deserve praise for anything on a scale of land-togetherness. So, the sports are a great way to both relax, AND happily support. It's a party to even BE there, so why not?! that togetherness energy we only really experience at concerts and festivals and sports. But it's awesome. Everyone can do it quite easily...one of those orange shirts or other "dressing up silly stuff" in orange will be available from dirt cheap to extravaganza. We love it as much as it looks like we do! As for Max Verstappen... He is amazingly stable in enduring both boo's and aah's! . He tries to NOT get involved in either the boo or the support happiness TOO much, he literally says in some of his intervies, that he tries to keep that equilibrium, and that keeps everything normal and sane. Learned that from an early age too. But definitely watch interviews and stuff with him. (the one with Coulthard, seriously recommended)

We Dutchies are pretty proud people when someone or a team does well on the world stage ... I guess its mostly because we are a small country which makes it extra special when we do well 😊 If the Dutch soccer team performs worse then expected though, we are also very harsh ... Like all the decorations people put up in the streets etc will be gone within 30 minutes and life returns back to normal 😂

that video was made i think when that song just came out so it was the number 1 song of dutch radios and stuff. but it seems like its kinda the unofficial second dutch anthem now a days hahah. but regarding these races. as for the fans most of the dutch fanbases are going to 3 races. thats the Belgium grand prix, the Dutch grandprix and the Austria grandprix. belgium and dutch well they are mostly the same for dutch people. because officially verstappen is born in belgium. but because of his upbringing and his father is was more dutch grown up. As for the Austria grandprix, thats the home base of his team Redbull racing. thats why a lot of dutch people also go there. a Granprix weekend is 3 days but most people make it a small vacation and go there like 1 or 2 weeks earlier. So when the grandprix is going mainly for austria and belgium all camping areas around the area are just full usually 6-9 months before the race. The video it self is from the austria grandprix

Dutch people are rather reserved with emotions, etc. Like a lot of protestants are. It's our culture to act normal. So when there is the opportunity of letting go they will. Like carnaval, Football tournaments, F1, Darts, Kings Day, etc. I can't explain it, but a lot of times it isnt even really about the sports for a lot of people. Go to a Dutch Squad game or to a competition game and its a total different atmosphere. Dutch national team really is about collectiveness, taking your kids, act crazy, etc.

Basically everything is a reason to party. FOMO? Don't know but if a dutch team or individual sportsman accomplishes something we feel proud and want the world to know about the Netherlands. Mostly all about having fun, getting together etc. Unfortunately there are always some a..holes that can't stand their liquor. I'm sure I'll affront some dutch viewers, but I make a distinct difference between what i call F1-fans and Verstappen-fans. As long as Verstappen does well then sure, dutch will create a party on crappy music. As soon as Verstappen leaves the sport you won't see a quarter of the people turning up on Grand Prix. As soon as a dutch sportsman or -woman does well opportunisticallly the dutch will create a party and if they don"t, they'll ghost it. This BS started long time ago when a British 🇬🇧 sport presenter interviewed father Jos Verstappen and assumed you can use a German pronunciation to a Dutch 🇳🇱 Driver thinking it is so "funny" ... It is not. Serious question: can any Englishman 🇬🇧 say "versatile" out-loud without saying "vershatile" phonetically? most can about 99,99% ... that is why most English 🇬🇧 can pronounce Verstappen 100% correct! Father Jos Verstappen (also F1 Racer) was very active between 1994 - 2003 back then only a very few said "Vershtappen" but the vast majority of British sport presenters pronounced it perfectly. The Dutch 🇳🇱 NEVER EVER pronounce the st as "sht" ... that is why I mention the difference between the two countries ...
