yeah, although i think his impression of trump is not as great as many of his others or the trump impressions of english speaking impressionists. it is probably a lot harder to get the correct tonality and pronunciation down if it is a foreign language.

He was in the German edition of "Last one Laughing" and confronted some of the male comedians there with themselves and it was hilarious zu watch.

His most famous impersonation is Klaus Kinski (a deceased, international, bang out of order, but very good German actor in his genre; older ones still know him). Like he's really on stage. The impersonations of prominent people in Germany are also very good: Jens Spahn (former Health Minister), Habeck (Economy Minister), Karl Dall (artist, comedian (mostly with old "gentlemen" jokes) but who actually has no sense of humor himself), Hugo Egon Balder (fishy showmaster ), Stefan Raab (athletic and courageous entertainer who to be cruel beatup twice by Regina Halmich (pro fem boxer) in a boxring). He was on stage with Raab and at times you didn't know who was who.

No, the concept ist not the same. Extra 3 doesn't imitate a news cast show as Heute-Show does with Welke a anchor man, and different reporters and commentators. Extra 3 is famous for its songs and it is often concentrating on regional failures of bureaucracy in Germany (Wahnsinn der Woche).
The Trump translator and "Trump" himself are actually played the same comedian: Max Giermann. He imitated so many different people stunningly. He is a regular guest of Extra 3, a member of the Sketch History cast, ... By the way, you should watch Sketch History - hilarious comedy imitating history channel documentary films. German topics could perhaps be a little bit difficult to unterstand for a Brit. But there are as well many sketches on international history.

I for myself appreciate Greta Thunberg. A guy wrote when she first appeared how embarrassing it is for us adults to be confronted with what she says. She is no longer a child, but she was and we should be aware of these problems and do something effective instead of discrediting the child that rightly holds us a mirror. (The mirror is poorly translated, she shows us our failures.) But it's nothing new to redirect this to the one showing it. Exactly those who don't wanna be blamed or change something are the loudest against her. In the end being grown doesn't mean being matured too. I think a lot of Germans admire and respect Greta Thunberg's commitment. I don't really know anyone who denies that climate change exists, though. Those people will surely feel different about her. If I would include her in a joke, it would most likely be something like "Whatch it, or I'm calling Greta to kick your ass!".
I saw a Greta/ Trump "joke" in a café this summer: they offered both disposable to go cups for free and reusable to go cups that you could buy for a deposit. The former were called Trump, the latter were called Greta 😉

You're asking me about Greta, and I must tell you I was very skeptical because I didn't know who put this (then) little girl in front of what became sort of a movement. It may have been her own idea, but she must have had mighty supporters to make it become "Fridays for Future". I myself was in the environmental movement in the 1980s/early 90s in Germany when we had different environmental problems: acid rain, stinky cars, the ozone layer disappearing. These problems STILL EXIST, but I've gotten too old to demonstrate, so I was really glad that it seemed like a young generation would take over, and Greta helped a lot in that, so Tack så mycket, kära Greta!

About Greta in Germany: I would say, she is a 50/50 hated and respected. The "green" people worship her, of course, but quite a lot, especially the people with age 40+, are hating her, because her manners and accusations towards the previous generations. Her actions comes not even close to those of the real eco heroes like Greenpeace, who even risk their lives!! Yet Greta gets all the glory and gets honored. That's a joke!

It brought the Topic of Climate Change onto the Agenda. You could hear them, while sitting at a Cafe, talking about Climate Change". (Certainly the Hot and Dry Summer of that Year helped a lot too)
When it comes to Greta Thunberg, I'm conflicted. It is absolutely fine that Thunberg wants to do something for the environment and protect it, but how it is implemented is often questionable.

Maybe you should see the movie 'FITZCARRALDO' - one of my all time favourtite. Klaus Kinski was a special caracter - mostly not a nice guy. And the "Merkel-Raute" was invented my Angela Merkel. It means, that all is OK, nothing to worry and nothing will be done. That means nothing will change and we should not ask futher questions. A lot of Germans hate this gesture, but together with the ignorance of problems it won a lot of elections.

For all of you who like impersonations and voice imitators, I highly recommend Matt Freund, a young American (barely 25) who does perfect impersonations of many US politicians. If he does Obama, you don't see he is actually a white guy. If he does Mitch McConnel, you don't see he could be his great grandson by age. And if he does Trump, you'll recommend he should see a psych therapist asap. Honestly, this guy is the goat 😂
Donald Trump would actually not be a good caricature of himself. A caricature has to make more sense than he does. Less twisted grammar, too; people must be able to actually understand the caricature. Unless, of course, it's really about the mess someone makes of a speech. Because it's true that we have to do something or more for nature, but doing things that would put many people out of work can't be the ultimate solution. Personally i really do not like greta thunberg. But this is not because i dont agree with what she is advocating for, but rather the way she is used as a figurehead, a symbol at this young age. I hate the idolizing of a "Moral saint". And every friday the pupil go on the street when what they really should be doing is going to school. When i was in school and those fridays for future Demonstrations happened we even cancelled some classes because people would opt out to go demonstrate. I dont know if it still happens the Same way as it did back then tho.

The actor is Max Giermann. He is a talented and well educated, sophisticated, refined serious theatre actor, who also has a comedy talent. He can do great impressions, voice imitations and great transformations, he's intelligent, creative with a great sense of humor and he is nevertheless humbled and grounded. Great guy. You can like or dislike Greta Thunberg but she says what so many other persons are bothered to say. People who are talking in a very rude and aggressive way about her are antisocial and stupid. First thing is that no adult person never should say something that contains sexual violence or physical violence against a child! That is absolutely disgusting. In my opinion Thunberg haters are people poor in mind and/ or they feel blamed by the fact that a girl speaks out facts they don't want to hear because it shakens theire Weltbild where the humans do what they like without any thought about any negative effects.
