It was a worse flooding, but not the worst in Europe's history. The worst floods in known history were presumably the first and second Marcellus' floods (1219 and 1362, storm tides causing each more than 25,000 deaths and destroying many islands and coastal towns, the first also creating the Ijsselmeer / Zuidersee in the Netherlands, reclaimed since the 1930) and the St. Mary Magdalene's flood of 1342 when Rhine, Moselle, Main, Danube, Weser, Werra, Unstrut, Elbe and Vitava all inundated large areas. The total number of deaths is not clear, but in the Danube area alone about 6,000 perished, and since much fertile land was lost, famines followed.

Worst flooding in Europes History. The person who made that video should check history before making such ignorant titles😂 Edit: want to add that it's still very bad what happened and is happening at this moment. Hope our neighbours will be alright, ofcourse.🫶
