REACTION to GFRIEND - 'MORE MOMENTS THAT HAD ME SHOOK' & '20 MINUTES OF CRACK' (by Leader Sowon) 

Quick disclaimer: I filmed and edited this BEFORE Sowon's letter came out. Even so, I think the majority of what I said at the beginning still stands. There's still so much we don't know and the best thing we can do is look after ourselves and keep supporting and loving the girls in whatever decisions they make in the future. Also, regarding Sowon's letter, as much as there are parts that are definitely a punch in the gut, we can also take solace in the part where she says "we are not done". They're not done as artists, and we are not done as Buddy. Stay strong friends. I love you, GFRIEND loves you. Things may be different but they're not over

This whole Gfriend situation just felt strange. Like it came out of nowhere and suddenly, they’re done. Like often times, when a group is reaching their end, you can kind of anticipate it and brace for it. This just came out of nowhere and as someone who’s been a Buddy since 2016, it HURT. Of all the groups I’ve loved that have come and gone over the years, this one definitely hurt the most. I don’t think I ever cried over a Kpop group disbandment but I watched the video of their first win and just CRIED. They were so amazing together and I just wasn’t ready to let Gfriend go. I just wished we’d gotten a proper send off or a farewell concert or something to celebrate them. A statement and letters just doesn’t seem to do them justice. But anyways, I’m sure the girls are ready to move on and branch out to do other things. I’m sure they want to make their mark in the world as individuals and I’m here for it.

The news came out suddenly, I felt like it wasn't real, I was very confused at first and ended up crying while reading their farewell letter :')

As a buddy supporting GFRIEND for almost 5 years I am sincerely and happily thank you for making this reaction video and sharing your thoughts about them because I personally needed it. I want also someone to keep on hoping that this happen for a reason.

While I wasn't a Buddy, I always enjoyed Gfriend and their content. It's sad that "Gfriend" is over, but over their years they have developed a strong following and as long as those fans continue to follow and support them in whatever their future endeavors, there will be nothing to worry about. I don't think many people at this point remember that Beast was one of those few groups who decided to move companies and continue under a different name, Highlight. Even if the members decide to move to separate companies, they will still have the opportunity work with one another at some point. Shinhwa left SM and went on hiatus for 10 years before coming back having made their own company. You can't be sure what will happen in the future, but giving them support will help them stay in a positive direction.

I know everyone says it’s just kpop, every group are meant to disband right? The problem is that everything about this is suspicious and there’s many questions in the air. We’re upset not because they disbanded but because every little bit of evidence out there points to SouMu/HYBE did them wrong. They had no respect to them or us. Sojung, Yerin, Jung Eunbi, Yuna, Hwang Eunbi, Yewon are very much real. They’re not some video games characters that can leave and come back whenever we please. They’re 6 girls that spent their childhood and teen years working hard to debut and then spend their 20s working 10x times harder to make it and to survive in this cutthroat industry and during the entirety of those years they reassured us CONSTANTLY and god, even up to the very last day, that they would remain together.

I am glad to see you upload more Gfriend content at this moment of shock and disbelief. Gfriend is special in what they do for reasons only attributable to the force of the divine. May they be surrounded in joy in the future as they did for us in the past.

6years of successful career, gfriend is one of the greatest idol in the industry. We should be proud. These girl are amazing.. I wish for their success in future regardless which direction they choose. OT6 forever ❤️

I've learned in all my years of being a group stan (wow that makes me sound old I'm only 22) that our relationship with them it's like a personal relationship in a way psychologically your brain grows to know these people and cant tell the difference between an in-person relationship to one threw a screen. We logically know, but subconsciously it still hurts us in a personal way. We love these girls but the thing is our brains can process this similar to losing a relationship like a deep friendship. The thing is life isn't fair and it puts us in situations with people where we have to love them enough to let them go so they can bloom again, as cliché as that sounds. They may or may not disband but as we know now their situation is changing and supporting them is all that matters. You can be mad at the situation but you can't be mad at the people involved aka Gfriend. We don't know the situation behind closed doors, so we have to trust in them that their decision was the best decision. We saw in the letters how sorry they were to Buddy for causing us pain. Making sure that they know that Buddys want what's best for them is all we can do to lessen the pain in both them and ourselves. pls stay strong and #trustinGfriend (also I hope this made sense b/c Kaia's amazing talk at the beginning made me think of this and I'm bad at on-the-spot stuff but I too wanted to share in case someone was in need of more comfort).

Gfriend was the first kpop concert I've been in and I have only seen them that one time, I really didn't expect that it would also be the last time seeing them live. There's something inside of me that accepts and isn't expecting for more group promotion from them since they have been in the industry for almost 7 years working nonstop... but no matter what happens, I'll always support them

SouMu is also close to bankruptcy so i think this is the best decision. If GFRIEND decided to stay, they will be overworked again like how they used to be. Having only 20% income for SouMu is not helping either. SouMu might dissolve. But I just cant believe this GFRIEND and SouMu has been a family.

This ending... was too painful for the girls and buddy... I cannot sleep since 2 days ago. Our girls write the letters for us and try their best to comfort us... My hurt was really pain... I...

I've had a few favs disband or change members or switch companies, but damn this one hurts. Especially coming out of nowhere like this. I'm glad that, at least for now, it looks like it could have been a relatively clean break. Anyway, thanks for the video. I've always liked your way of dealing with these by enjoying some content.

Thank you for addressing clickbait gossip rags and rushing to judgment. The only thing that puzzled me about Source trademarking "Gfriend," was why they hadn't done it sooner. Trademarking the group name is Day 1 stuff. For example, YG has already trademarked Baby Monster/Baemon, and SM recently trademarked Pink Blood. So trademarking your intellectual property is standard procedure. It doesn't mean Gfriend won't get to use their name if they wish to continue under another label. We're all emotional over Gfriend's decision to leave Source, but there's no point in speculating right now and overanalyzing the letters which to me seem clearly intentional in their design from revealing any new information. The members will explain their plans when they're ready to open up. Let's give them space in the mean time and try to support our other faves who worked their tails off for this comeback season. 💖

As someone who came to love this group so much within the last year to year and a half after discovering them and their stuff. This sudden contract end coming out of nowhere hurt. Within the time I have found about them they quickly became my ULT group, so the sudden end felt like getting shot in the chest and then someone slamming a sledgehammer in the wound. Now, I can’t help but tear up when I watch any GFRIEND content, and not being able to see them live now just drives in like a knife through the heart.

I'm still crying over the sudden news but yeah let's wait for may 22nd

Just like Buddies transitioned to Na.Vs, LUVUs, Woorins, but we are still Buddies. And we will all be back as Gfriend and Buddies in the same place, when they decide to do their Gfriend comeback. There are lot of rumours coming out of how they were thrown or were held down from opportunities so they all left together. Also soumu definitely went in debt after the merger, last year GFRIEND worked a lot and this is the treatment they get. This industry does not repsect GGs. And this disbandment is the proof. Hope they come out and tell us what exactly went down.
