REACTION TO Pentatonix - Can't Sleep Love 

The popspring version you reacted to earlier is better….always loved the studio version till I saw the live version…Mitch steals the show in the live version.

Some other excellent bops as far as original tunes go are “Sing” and “Happy Now”. Love their original tunes!

A really beautiful original done by Superfruit that shows off Mitch’s high range is Goodbye From Lonely. It is a slower breakup song. It is one of my favs on their Future Friends album..

"never gonna cry again" is off of their last album and Mitch wrote it. It's very EDM sounding to me. Mitch leads the song too. The MOST IMPRESSIVE THING is Matt literally literally sounds like a bass guitar. In an IG live he did with Kevin he said he had to take 3 or 4 passes at it before he got the guitar sound just right. I tweeted him that most people wouldn't ever be able to do it. I really hope you do it bc it is right up your alley!! No video just visualizer video. Well worth it though.

You should check out their original Coffee in Bed (the official video not the one from the TV appearance), Mitch sounds amazing in that one and Kevin goes off!

The high part towards the end IS Mitch. The rapping is done by a rapper named Tink, although during live shows, like PopSpring, Mitch takes over that part and SLAYS

The Lucky Ones album has quite a few songs that lean into an EDM feel. Love Again is Definitely their strongest EDM influenced track, IMHO. The whole Superfruit album has a strong synth pop feel which leans in that direction. They did a Swedish House Mafia cover of Who's Gonna Save the World Tonight mashed up with Don't You Worry Child. Where Are U Now is great.

Going to just go off the rails and recommend the Perfume medley...there's an official video and a great live version from Japan.

If you look at the Popspring concert live version again you will see that it was Mitch making the sounds that you asked about. He also rapped the part that Tink did in this Deluxe album version. This is one of the PTX albums with an original and a deluxe edition. All the tracks on the original album are originals, including "Can't Sleep Love" without the rap section. The deluxe version adds three covers (Bieber's "Where Are U Now", OMI's "Cheerleader" and Major Lazer / DJ Snake's "Lean On") plus this Tink version of "Can't Sleep Love".

Hah! You've done this song before! It was one of the songs they did at Popspring. That version is better imo, cause I really like Mitch rapping. And that was Mitch, not Scott. Person rapping in this is Tink.

My favorite live performances of this song is on a British show called Sunday Brunch. They sang this song, Cheerleader, and one other song. This is why it is so good to see the video as you can see who is singing what.

You just credited Scott for some of Mitch’s runs 😂 I vote for Sing as your next original. It was an early original & is a good bop!! Be My Eyes & Love Me When I Don’t are 2 other later greats (Kirstie written). Those are the 3 off the top of my head🤷🏼‍♀️ Watch the video for this song, it’s one of their more creative ones.

For their original songs, Pentatonix do not have Ben Bram finish the arrangements and produce the recording. Instead they work with experienced pop songwriters / producers (as most pop stars do, and as the SingOff judges advised them to do in the series final). They also have extra vocal engineering done, usually by multiple engineers. The songwriting credits for this track list all 5 PTX members, plus Trinity Home (Tink) and four other songwriters. And a mindboggling list of production credits, with the main vocal production credit going to Pentatonix and Kuk Harrell, who has produced many big pop stars and also produced SuperFruit's "Future Friends" album.

There is beautiful video put there. One "regular" and an inactive one, where you can pick your favorite and follow them through the video.

I second the suggestions of Coffee in Bed and See Through! If you want other Mitch dominant songs (he is solo 😜), you need to listen to his cover of Your Power, his alter ego (Messer) doing Love Supply or Angels Pray. All are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

From this album, for a type of EDM sound I think you are looking for, try "First Things First" and "Ref". Their 2021 original album "The Lucky Ones" uses a lot more vocal effects and probably has tracks you will love, including the extra tracks issued later as an EP. And I would love you to check out "Papaoutae", a cover of French EDM singer Stromae.

I think is is rather ironic that Mitch was teased for his high voice, and now he is world famous for that same voice. As she says Kirsty rhymes with thirsty, lol.

Totally agree with coffee in bed!! If you didn't do this with popsprings please do bc Mitch does a rap in the middle. There is also the coolest video they did you can check out on your own just look up ptx can't sleep love interactive video. If you need me to send the link tell me. But I goes through the video 5 times showing only one member of the group at a time doing the whole song so you get to see what each person is doing. Can't wait to see this one either though

Hello Salvo G. This is a grest PTX original. The studio version is great but PTX performing this live at Popspring 2016 is OFF THE CHARTS!! You already reacted to it and is worth re-watching after listening to the studio version. Please react to your reaction of "Can't Sleep Love" at Popspring 2016 -- or react to it again -- now that you have done the studio version. The ear candy "Yeah" "Pwaw pwaw pwaw" is Mitch - you can see him doing it in the live version. Mitch raps in the live and NAILS IT, not just the vocals but the stage presence and super sass. Mitch does not rap in the studio version, they had a guest collab for the studio version -- that voice is not one of the 5 PTX members. I don't think you've done Happy Now, yet, and that should be up your ally. It's off last year's originals album, though they were first previewing it on tour in 2019.

Tink’s rap is awesome, but Mitch doing the rap is 10x better. Mitch is doing the high part. And the wha wha.

This is not the best version. Try the pop spring concert. Mitch does the rap part. Mitch does woop woops, yeahs and all those high notes. The chorus is Mitch centric
