A big thing about the Aztecs comeback from 14 pts down in the second half... Note that it didn't happen because the Aztecs went on some big scoring streak like most comebacks happen. No, this comeback as almost painful in how slowly the score tightened up. FAU fought every bit of the way. There were long lulls when neither side could score. FAU would score a basket that paused the comeback. And then there were more possessions each side scoring unsuccessfully. Both sides were pushing as hard on D as they were trying to score, one to catch up and the other to extend their lead. And when the score was only 2 pts difference, again both sides were trying to score mightily against the other for several minutes and this more or less was the situation on the last play of the game when FAU led by one point and Butler made his buzzer beating shot.

Connecticut is no better than Alabama was. Supposedly the greatest offensive juggernaut in the country. No one gave the Aztecs a chance then either. Everybody can be beat. Keep giving SDSU no chance, please.

The game was never in doubt the final 6+ minutes, but the media had more excuses for Alabama than The Tide had points. But Creighton, who beat The Aztecs early in the season, was next, and of course, according to the media, they were a much better team now than when they had faced SDSU early on. SDSU won by one point. Now FAU, the heartthrob of the tournament, everyone’s sentimental favorite. They outplayed the Aztecs in the first half and led by 14 in the second half. FAU shot 54% in the first half, but only 33% in the second. The Aztecs broke America’s heart today. Were they to somehow, some way, commit the unthinkable and upset Connecticut, Congress would have to declare a National Day of Mourning. So be it. GO AZTECS!!

It'll be interesting on Monday to see what UConn cooks up for the Aztecs. Do they think their walk through the Tournament will continue the same way through the Aztecs or ill CConn bring something new in the Championship game? Can the Aztecs bring something against UConn that UConn hasn't seen before this Tournament? Can SDSU make the game a close rock fight that is decided on the last play of the game or will SDSU be another 10+ point victim like every other UConn opponent this Tournament?

FAU probably would have won the Big Ten and maybe the ACC and Big East this year, they have a COMPLETE team with at least one pro player in Alijah Martin!! UCONN (Big East) can throw in some clunkers, but they are by far the hottest team right now like they were to start the season. I think they do best vs teams that have never seen them, same with SDSU!! I think UCONN rolls if they stay on their hot streak! 72-58, they do to SDSU what they've done to other hot teams in the tournament!!

That false foul that got Vlad into foul trouble and killed their defensive rebounds killed the game. I'm disappointed with dirt poor garbage refs.

Stop it, the FAU coach blew the game when they couldn't in bound the ball and blew the timeouts. FAU should fire the coach

No stake here but anticipation calls were rough at the end. Refs did take over vs 1st half letting them play more. There seemed to be a directive to even the total . Vlad block and Rosado layup stop and slip traveling 3 fouls bailed out were massive bad calls. Similar lane drive missed layups contacts were not called for FAU due to being shorter guards. Sdsus offense required fouls to score and was scrambling all night (fortunate they shot a higher clip of contested 3s) while FAUs was fluid and getting open shots or to the rim all game. Some review process is needed in last 5 minutes or something or these limelight refs will keep doing damage.

Umm it seemed like the Refs stopped calling foul against SD St. And FAU got a ton of them. Brutal 2nd half from the refs. So many clear blocks that were called out by FAU it just sucks. FAU shot themselves in the foot a few times towards the end.

F.A.U. had the better team.

Not a FAU fan or basketball much. But I gave the madness a chance knowing what the rules are and what out of bounds is AND IS NOT. The Ref's won. It's a shame to see a team go on that should not be there. Experience ruined.
