Wonderful song . ~ Was the last song on the soundtrack to British film ' Butterfly kiss ' ( starring Amanda Plummer ) where at the end of the movie a woman kills her murderous schizophrenic best friend / lover by drowning her ( in slow motion ) to this song ~ A mercy killing in the end ... Saw it in cinema twice ...

Zombieeee, zooombie-eh-eh! Love it haha! Top notch review - I'm not sure I've heard a song so shot and with so much simplicity but hits the emotion button so well. I think you're on to something with the organ bringing a haunting touch (for sadness) but also a calmness (closure of the relationship) at the same time. I've seen a few live performances of this on RU-vid which are absolutely special to see and - as you say - Dolores gone far too soon!

This is my go to song. My mentally ill son was shot & killed by a deputy sheriff in our home in April 2022 when we had called for the Crisis Intervention Team. They arrived, yelled at him repeatedly, tazed him 3 times and carted away his dead body within 9 minutes.

Shawn, Yes,, this is a unique choice for a last track to an album. Wow, this song is packed with mood and atmosphere. The organ is an appropriate instrument to bring out the haunting effects of the sad type lyrics and the slow intense music. I agree that the organ has a haunting and yet a calm feeling. Good observation. The lyrics are powerful, the music moves the listener. Your comments are on point as you describe the song. Chris, this is a very emotional song choice.

I hope you can react to The Sunday's album 'Reading, Writing and Arithmetic' some time Shawn. It's a good one. and there are quite a few similarities between them and the Cranberries.
