This wasn’t a trailer for an anime, this was a showreel of Konami’s new animation studio; Konami Animation. So while a lore anime isn’t confirmed as of now, the fact that Konami’s studio announcement was made with various DM lores is sign that one might be in the air, especially since there’s been such positive praise from the trailer and high demand for it. Sky Strikers are most likely to get a show because of their manga spin off. Do you know what I’d really love? Now that Konami has established their own animation studio with all these unique animation styles, we might get the chance to see more master duel animes alongside the rush duels shows where the possibility of gallop era characters can make a comeback in movies and crossovers. The possibilities are endless.
The more I watch it the more I'm sure they'll do Sky Strikers. The video has done really well There's clearly passion for Yu-Gi-Oh lore among their animation team. And Sky Strikers came at the end without the label everything else got, like it's a teaser.
@@suhanhwang9988 Well to be fair other well known animation studios already did treating their animators the same way as Konami did with their gaming divisions. I'm not sorry for saying this.
I want the hidden terminal lore, for once do an anime without a protagonist and hidden terminal lore is perfect for that, especially the part 1 against the worms.
@bladersmosh i mean Master duel is also a preview before covid as well until they release the gameplay and trailer on 2021 so theres still a chance this is the actually gonna happen just like how they preview master duel before and it really happen
@@jeraldwashingtonjr5641it would be funny if Dai Grepher make a cameo in Gagagigo's story, like if he was the vice-captain of Marauding Captain's team before mysteriously disappeared without a trace.
Wouldn't gagagigo's lore interrupt the charmer's lore? Because if gagagigo were to to go with marauding captain, he would be away most of the time from his charmer.
The fact that Konami now has their own Animation Studio, and the fact that the first thing that they've done is Yu-Gi-Oh, does make me wonder about the future of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime. GO RUSH will be entering its third and (presumably) final season this year, with Yu-Gi-Oh 9 expected to be announced at Jump Festa in December. If it turns out to be cheaper to develop the anime 'in house' than to use a third party like 'Studio Bridge', we might see Yu-Gi-Oh change studios again. Certainly interesting times.
@@Jonathanloh1992not an hater too, but the animation and story of Rush Duels just ain't doing for me. I hope that if Konami Animation can do a full anime like this that the next Anime will be done by their in house studio. Also at first I didn't want a lore anime because of Master Duel, Master Duel single player mode is a little story about the lore, so I was thinking if a lore anime was made that people would stop playing that mode in the game. But after this showcase I really want a lore Anime, and people will still probably play solo mode for the rewards anyway
I’m part of the fandom who’s not quite aware of archetype lore so a lore anime would be huge for me. Some of these archetypes I’ve never heard of since I’m more aligned with the anime than the card game itself so seeing their lore would get me more interested.
some of the lore is explored in Yugioh Master Duel (the game) in the solo mode, it's not a lot just like a short part of it but it's enough to understand some of the lore behind the cards
@@symphonixblades I know - I’m not a fan of Master Duel; I prefer the more casual Duel Links which does align more with the anime. Master Duel is a bit too extreme/hardcore for me.
So there's a couple of big ones with multiple archetypes involved, and then a lot of smaller ones & one-offs. The big ones are (in order of size): -Duel Terminal (includes Ice Barrier, Flamvell, X Saber, Mist Valley, Worm, Fabled, Gusto, Dragunity, Genex, Evilswarm, Shaddoll, Zefra, Nekroz, Gishki, Laval, Constellar, Gem-Knight, Qliphort, Ritual Beast, Infernoid, etc - just to name a brief handful of them. They also touch Charmers as Wynn the Wind Charmer is a former Gusto and younger sister of Winda from Ritual Beast & Shaddoll). -Fallen of Albaz/Abyss (includes Fallen of Albaz, Dogmatika, Tri-Brigade, Sprites, Springans, therions, icejade, swordsoul, bystials, and i think that's it?) -spellcaster (magistus, endymion, mystical beast, spellbook, invoked, witchcrafter, and by virtue of spell counters being created by endymion: dark magician, red eyes, blue eyes, magician girl, flame swordsman, buster blader, gaia the fierce knight, black luster soldier, etc) -Dracoslayer (Dracoslayer, dracoverlord, true draco, true king, igknight, metalfoes, majespecter, dinomist) -Visas (Visas Starfrost, Tearlaments, Scareclaw, Kashtira, Mannadium, and Veda) -Phantasm Spiral (Phantasm Spiral, Fire Kings, Atlanteans, Mermails) -Gagagigo ("Gigo" series, Charmer, dark world, "inpachi" series, "marauding captain") Those are the main ones. There are smaller ones like runick & generaider being connected, and the current ongoing one right now is diabellestar (which features herself, snake eye, goblin riders, and the new illusion archetype whose name escapes me)
The whole video is just a perfect celebration of Yugioh. I think it had a decent mix of archetypes and remixing Passionate Duelist to fit every section is just the cherry on top.
Loved seeing Dylan's face light up when se saw the shot of Maiden with Eyes of Blue walking down that path as Azure Dragon appeared. I HOPE this is a full on series of various anime. Since they did make a new studio, they have 3 options; 1: Pay somebody else for their idea and property to make an anime 2: Have somebody at Konami spend months making an idea and concept from the ground up 3: Use the properties you already own that already have characters, story, art, and concept per-made and turn those into fully realized stories. Now which one sounds most profitable? Konami look, I know you make a lot of bad choices, but this, this is just free money you have lying on the table. 25 years of card lore leaves you with franchise potential on the same level as Pokemon, Shonen Jump, Marvel, or DC. All the while you increase the sale of your card game through the roof. Please, do not blue ball us with the most hype thing ever and then do nothing with it. Plus, maybe now that Konami has its own studio, they can revisit the classic Gallop series whenever they want. Maybe even reboot and connect them all together. For now though, please, make several lore anime, multiple seasons, so much hype, so much money, make it happen! Thanks for making sure you did a reaction. Of course they announce something this bag while you're away from the studio, lol. In the meantime though, enjoy your break.
maybe even Castlevania will switch to Konami Animation maybe we will even get a more lore accurate Castlevania anime, there's also Metal Gear Solid, and of course Yugioh. So many possibilities.
@@Jonathanloh1992 That's the impression I'm getting too somewhere between bnha and code geass. But weren't some people from Konami affiliated with the nasuverse back then? Or am I just remembering wrong?
The creation of short anime or films about the card lore, available on Netflix or such, would be a welcome break from the traditionnal YGO anime formula. It would also help to bring this franchise into mainstream, potentially opening up new markets. Honestly I can't remember the last time I got this hyped !
The animation looks absolutely amazing and the monsters in the video looked so cool. If we ever get a lore anime, I would love to see one of the Libromancers or the Elemental Heroes
Even a Master Duel Anime is possible now!! This could even Lead Into that with Duel Links!!! The possibilities are endless...I NEVER thought I would say this...but Well Done Konami ❤ Also Lore sounds Awesome🎉🎉!
They don't just release an atomic bomb like that and that's just it, I also agree. 100% my money is on this being them gauging the fandom's interest in the lore anime and with overwhelmingly positive reception so far, they HAVE to capitalize on this! If Konami fumbles this, it will be the biggest blunder of any franchise, EVER!
I would love to see an Elemental Hero anime that also features their related archetypes like the Destiny Heroes or the Evil Heroes. I mean, it's one of the most popular archetypes in the entire game. How could they not?
Well they have their own animation studio and a lot of plots to work with. These were clearly just teasers for what they can do in the future, but it doesn't mean each thing featured will get an anime. But it will be strange for none of them to get an anime. Sky Strikers and Albaz seem to be the most likely.
Sadly for now this is just a one of anniversary PV for the card game. But its still the best thing yugioh fans have gotten in decades. Who knows what the future holds now. Ps. Konami holds the rights to a lot of IP so I imagine the studio will be making animations based on those while also doing out sourced work for other studios. Kinda like Cygames Pictures
Thank you for taking some time out of your vacation to provide us with your reaction. Can’t wait to see you back into the office for further dives into this topic.
Just so you know, this is an animation reel for Konami's own animation studio, not a trailer for a new anime. The purpose is to showcase the talents of the studio, usually so they can get hired for other projects.
Konami animation DEFINITELY has big things planned. I'm expecting to see some Sky Striker first, it feels like we have a lot in store in the coming years
Clearly Konami’s finally stepping up their animation budget! 🎉👍 I just wonder why now after years of them perhaps pocketing money they saved from the GO! Rush anime all of a sudden come out with this masterpiece? 🤔 Whatevs; at least it shows that Konami has some sort of ambitious plan going forward with Yu-Gi-Oh! along with the company as a whole. 😁
Dyl the amount of hype this video was is insane i watched this live last night and i was floored i hope we get an actual yugioh lore anime give me my fallen of albaz story thats what i want dyl.
Some people may say this doesn't mean anything but I personally disagree, this isn't just an animation demo, it's a proof of concept If it was only to advertise the studio then why dedicate it EXCLUSIVELY to Yu-Gi-Oh and not just have each segment be a different Konami IP to just show off everything that they could do and why even include the sections that just AREN'T animated if the purpose is just to show off animation? And if they AREN'T making a Yu-Gi-Oh project then why dedicate the ENTIRE thing to Yu-Gi-Oh and not include any projects that they ARE actually working on or anything generic to pitch to other studios? Also since they showed Ice Barriers if they follow through you will get Shadoll's as they're apart of that storyline (but it'll probably be a while considering the point in that storyline they show up) Konami literally has a license to just print money with this particularly if the merchandise it right, they can have Zues model kits, Melfy plushies, waifu statues out the ass and they'd never be at a loss for source material for decades if paced right
Well, this was shown in a YGO event so it makes sense it's only YGO. Also apparently they aleready worked in an opening for an anime not related to Konami
I don't think it's going to be an anime. More like "thank you for playing for 25 years, here's this cool animation". And that's it. Of course, I hope I'm wrong.. Edit. Well, I kept watching 😂
for now just a thank you for the fans. But Konami now as an in house animation studio and this trailer is getting positive reviews so some day we might get a full lore anime. Also next Yugioh anime will probably be made by Konami Animation and to be honest if they can do a full anime with this kind of animation it'll be hype
Seeing Melffys of the Joyous Forest in the trailer vid made me well up....They're my fave fun deck archetype in Master Duel!! Konami, please please PLEASE make good on your new animation studio and give us the lore anime we need. Dyl, thank you for your reaction vid - it brightened my morning in the UK. ^o^
This was pretty hype. I love how the animation looks. Hopefully this is a good sign that Konami animation will start doing maybe like small anime stuff
Apparently Konami Animation not only will work with Konami's franchises so I don't think they will anímate a show that is suppose to air for 2+ years. Also we don't know how big the studio is. YGO 9 is probably still going to be Bridge, but K.A. can posible release short animes for YGO, like 12 episodes long
Amazing I hope duel monsters has own anime series outside of card game anime series because the art style and animation look so stunning fascinating and brilliant it even better than studio gallop animation and art style
I would rather see a lore anime. It was Beautiful to look at. They have their own animation studio and I would love to see some of those stories come to the screen. It would be sooooooooooo interesting. They reminded me of Gundam, League of Legends, etc.
Your girlfriend's parents let you make a video while you are visiting them?? ... you better marry this girl Dylan 😂 This weekend for YGO was amazing. This was probably the best news that came out but there is also a VR Game in development that looks like it will be story based & also a trained AI system for YGO Master Duel. Its insane :P
I'm telling you, Dylan, there's a reason they extended Go Rush for another year, and this may be our first hint at whats going on! And also, Yu-Gi-Oh! 30th anniversary is coming in a little over 4 years, its something to think about! I still think the next anime will be rush duels, BUT, now Yu-Gi-Oh 10, all bets are off. Konami may test out their new animation studio on 9, and then go all out for 10 when the franchise turns 30! Again, just something to think about!
Can Konami Animation be persuaded to make a Yu-Gi-Oh anime closer to the old art style? We honestly need that if there are any plans to potentially milk Duel Links for further profit by animating its lore. Think of the money they could make if they appeal to everyone's nostalgia with a massive crossover. Oops. I just inhaled a dangerous amount of copium. I'll have to spend months in recovery after watching this.
This was a showcase of what they can do and their animation styles. The also have a video for Reign of the Seven Spell Blades on their site. With that said, the ending feels like a teaser for a Sky Striker anime, which would make sense since they can animate the manga. Maybe in the future the main Yugioh anime will be made in house.
I really want an anime on the World Legacy archetype. By extension, the World Legacy story also includes the Orcust, Crusadia, Mekk-knight, World Chalice, Knightmare, Guardragon, and Krawler archetypes
how long since they made a new special summon kind of monster from the extra deck?? maybe this is basically a send-off to the game after being a thing for 25 years now, it was a nice run while it lasted
Plot twist: Konami intentionally releases the trailer like this to make us think it’s just a promotional for the 25th anniversary to throw us off and they actually release it as an anime, announcing the release date as the day after the announcement.
I would love if Konami did a new Duel Monsters Anime which is more faithful to the Manga, like what TOEI did with DBZ KAI without any of the Filler Stuff + A New Adaptation of Yugioh 0...
I want to see a short episode of "The Outstanding Dogg Maroon". How that Dogg left his owner in Tokyo got lost for 10 years never returned they say he went to Dark world then became the "Mad Dogg of Darkness".
I honestly think that this was just meant to be a celebratory animation for Yugioh's 25th anniversary. That, and to reveal their new studio and the two brand-new cards that were also made to celebrate the 25th anniversary. Don't get me wrong, this is awesome and I hope they make some actual Yugioh anime because of how awesome it is, but I really do think that that was all it was.
With honesty, i would rather watch this yugioh potential series than the one japan is currently broadcasting nowadays. It feels like they can do so much with many of the duel monsters and their lore. I would like them to do episodes of fire fist, fire king vs atlantean, dragon rulers, and six samurai lore
Dylan can you do a video on the new yugioh news? Konami released some info on new things. Everyone spam the comments to get his attention. This is huge news from the Japan convention
Konami animation really flexing on what they can do with anime also TGS anime believes that they will be a sky strike anime cause it is based of a manga
