I feel like this is just an anniversary vid to show off what the new studio can do. I got so freaking hyped for this. Can't wait for the card lore anime already
Feel like the Raye teaser at the end might have suggested an anime based on the Sky Striker Manga, but everything else was just a neat showcase of the new studio's ability, with each video highlighting a different animation style, even going 3D w/Zeus+Typhon
For the forseeable future, the Sky Striker storyline from OCG stories will be their main project, with some of the studio resources dedicated to do animated trailers for the big product releases such as the Core Boosters, Structure Decks and Deck Build Packs. But I could see them eventually branch off towards more card storylines in an anthology format, since some storylines like Solfacord or Zeus can just be adapted to a 15-20 minute OVA. The more extensive storylines like Duel Terminal and Visas would require much more funding and time to develop.
I know they said this is just a demo reel for their new animation studio, but I sincerely hope it's also serving as a backdoor pilot for a lore anime, because if we got a full series based on what we saw here I would absolutely lose it.
There's definitely a higher chance now with them branching out with lore. They started incorporating it a lot in master duel, they made a sky striker manga, and there's light novels apparently. With the success of master duel I could see them pushing it more. Lore in this game has been getting far more popular too.
To add on to what Galaxy said, it just be economical. Especially since Yugioh is there most profitable IP because they fucked up there games division when they tried to move into Pachinko but then Corona hit. THEY CAN GET SO MUCH FUCKING MONEY FROM THIS! THE MERCH ALONE WOULD MAX THE FUCK OUT IN POTENTIAL!
@@RavenCloak13 Yeah, absolutely. Between the pre-built storylines like Duel Terminal or World Legacy and the _dozens_ of archetypes that could easily carry a 12-episode anime on their own, Konami is sitting on an absolute goldmine of content that could keep the money rolling in for a couple decades; and that mine is only getting deeper, since Konami just keeps on printing new archetypes with banger concepts and aesthetics.
Absolutely this was just a showcase of what the Staff in the studio is capable of, different genres in different artstyles and so on, but Konami has to know that they can't just drop something like this without following through with an actual lore anime at this point.
Especially with tie in stuff they could do with Albaz and the new Albaz lore collection boxes coming this year, Sky Strikers manga exist already, Zeus was too damn hype and just imagine if they added Drytron/Ursartic or Kozmos to Zeus lore or even introduce a whole Olympian mechs vs Greek Titans mechs. Visa Starfrost would be an easy series to make, Live Twins being promotional use mascots in VTuber space and Duel Terminal lore alone can make multiple series. Charmers would be a massive amount of merch sales on magical girl school life with some Dharc ship baiting thrown in. This would make people buy SOOOOO much merch. Hell, they already making new figures to sell in general.
"This is just to showcase what the studio is capable blah blah blah blah" mf ain't no way they don't make *some* kind of animated series or short stories now
The Albaz lore might be big, but Magistus is potentially bigger. Magistus is the origin point of Invoked, Witchcrafter, and Endymion. From that we go to Spellbooks and the Skilled Magicians; each leading to Dark Magician, Buster Blader, Gaia/BLS, Archfiends, and Kuriboh.
@@OhitsONnow Endymion's school is where the Skilled Magicians learned magic. Skilled Dark Magician becomes Dark Magician as seen in its effect. Endymion was one of the Magistus along with Crowley (Aleister the Invoker), Rilliona (Witchcrafter Madame Verre), and Zoroa.
@@MansMan42069spellbook institute la maison and Endymion citadel. Aleister is the founding father of la maison, while Endymion citadel is where Aleister studied magic. Also la maison and the citadel are at war twice, the first war ends in the birth of the world of prophecy. The current war is where Aleister personally engage with Endymion, selene and verre.
@@habo249 Go to the yugioh OCG channel, it should be the first result when you search "yugioh animation". Then look at it's recent videos, it has all the individual segments, but only zeus and six sams are different to my knowledge. To future proof my answer if anyone reads it months from now, the individual videos are respectively titled "05 遊戯王カードゲーム25周年特別映像「Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES」/ 神をも殺す最終兵器、天霆號アーゼウス" and "06 遊戯王カードゲーム25周年特別映像「Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES」/ 真六武衆見参!"
The term Chronicles used says 100%. Or some are anthology like Visions while others would be more long form like Albaz, Sky Strikers, Visa Starfrost, World Legacy, Duel Terminal and so on. The anthology ones would probably be cute or cool one offs like Zeus or Fire Beast vs Atlantic or Solcaford and Mellyfies. And Live Twins being promotional type characters for upcoming projects and you could even have movies like Gold Pride that's just a massive space race like Red Line.
We should express gratitude for the fact that they are creating animation in our generation, as they could have chosen to do it 50 years from now when we would be much older.
I was always saying how cool all the lore is. It’s so hard to get the stories right with just art and some hints alone. Making it nearly impossible to explain why I like to so much to clueless people. Master duel does some of the lore with its solo modes, but it’s so short or just repeats flavor text or what it does. It doesn’t fulfill what I wanted so badly. I guess if we get hyped enough, they will make all the shows we could hope for. Even making more card lore to make even more animes. The dream. Makes you wanna play a ton of bad decks, but i already play Albaz purely because of the lore.
Honestly, anime based on card lore would be the best thing they could do for promoting the card game since 5Ds. I doubt the card game anime brings anyone new in, especially since they've moved on to Rush Duel to get around the endless one-upmanship (I still want more colors of extra deck cards tho) but taking cards out of the picture would give much wider appeal. I was just doing the World Legacy solo mode on MD, that shit could use a 26 episode fantasy epic.
Honestly man I's love to see mini-anime series on the different lore universes within YGO. Monster lore is so underexplored. Basically take the story missions from Master Duel and turn them into anime.
I’ve been telling my friends for years that a Yugioh anthology anime about different archetype lore would be iconic especially with how much source material to pull from.
I never though you would react to that. And the most impressive part is that it wasn't that annoying to watch! Congrats everyone, and thank you for the reaction.~
1:26 Um that guy is Gigobyte. Which in this version of him, he becomes a loyal Familliar. While Gogiga Gagagigo is his dark adult version where he becomes too greedy for power. They are the same guy but with different stories. That's only the tip of how dark his story is.
Yugioh card's lore as an anime would be amazing. Seeing their stories animated and fleshed out/explained properly would be great. And there are so many stories they could do for a season.
The idea of animated lore videos for archetypes makes me happy. I don't expect an actual anime, but even if they just take the stories told in card art and animate it so people can actually understand the lore and appreciate the cards more that'd be a huge W imo.
I just imagine a star wars visions style anthology series where we get 40 ish minute short films dedicated to different archetypes' lore. It would be amazing
so are zeus and the other zeus actually canonically enemies? when is visas encounter them just blowing up the next planet before he can do anything there
Yeah, there's lore in VBEX: "A diabolic nightmare ironically crowned with the name of a God, it was originally constructed to counter a threat. Matching its title of ‘Sky Thunder’, it can burn the sky with thunder, shatter the stars themselves, and slay even the Gods. “WE. SHOULD. DESTROY. THE. DISASTER. WITH. THE. LAST. AND. ULTIMATE. ATTACK. BY. MANKIND.”… The “Counter-Offensive Weapon AA-ZEUS” is the 12th Weapon, designed to fight fate, that humanity created in the face of countless threats of extinction."
Okay I just realized. If we are getting Charmers and Trishula, WE ARE GETTING THE FULL DUEL TERMINAL LORE! Wynn eventually becomes El Shaddol Winda, and that leads to Naturias and Qliphorts, and traces back to Gem Knights (I wonder if the Steven Universe fan base will go soyjack mode and say Konami copied Cartoon Network...) And Zefra. Meanwhile Trishula is the final part of the Worms saga of Duel Terminal where the unleash Trish to freeze the whole world over so quickly that the Worms don't adapt, which means we WILL get X-Sabers, Jurracs, Mist Valley and Dragunity, Fabled, etc. Cannot wait!!!!
Sorry to break it to you, but Wynn is Winda's younger sister and was sent outside of the Duel Terminal Lore into another world. I know there is a seperate book about this.
They have more than enough archetypes to do an anthology series covering 12 per season, with bigger ones like Albaz and Sky Strikers getting an episode per season. This would def have a market
I think it would be cool if they would not give each deck a whole show but if they would make it like black mirror and do 45min.-1h episodes that are independed from each other, each covering a different deck or story line.
If they decide to make anime on lore cards i bet they'll do it like this maybe even shorter like 20 min, but for the bigger and popular lore cards like Branded Visas and World Legacy they could be more than an episode just covering the important parts of the story. But it's not going to be good though
I don't see us getting all of this, but I can definitely see sky striker and magistus getting adapted because of the Manga. And hopefully having a dedicated studio means Konami can also return to doing a non rush duel anime again
Sadly it seems this isn't going to be an anime itself, but rather is just a showcase for konamis new animation studio, not entirely out of the cards yet though, because i really hope this becomes a series.
Apparently Konami animation is a new studio is this was like them showing off their skills. We are probably getting a Sky Striker anime since the manga with their story ended not too long ago.
While this was probably mostly to show off the new studio, they would also have to be stupid not to see how much everyone wants an anime. like make a good anime and time it with some good new support for thr archetypr the anime is about and make easy money and happy fans
I hope this is to gauge community reception for a change to the anime format. I would take YuGiOh animes changing to being about the cards' story itself, even if they're just 2 or 3 episode Arcs per deck. Probably would sell new garbage cards as well if they include them as part of existing stories, at least better than how Sevens "sold" rush duels.
They could blend different archetypes into separate anime for each genre. For instance they could mix Six Samurai, their ninja cards, the the original ninja cards, and make a sengoku era anime. Or they could do Noble Knights, Dark Magician, Charmers etc. and do a fantasy anime.
People talking about World Legacy, and that'd awesome, but I'd also love to see the whole Draco/Foes/TK/Crystron/Zoo lore. Masterpiece vs VFD hell yeah.
