I requested Voctave and I’m so happy you are enjoying them!! This was a great one to go to after the Princess Medley so you saw the girls and the guys as soloists. The 2nd soloist is their founder and arranger and he’s incredible. I remember commenting about EJ on Voiceplay’s video because it seemed you thought his voice was too much for that song and yeah, he has a huge voice!! I think you would love the Disney Love Medley as well and you would have more “wow” moments in that one. I hope you keep down this beautiful rabbit hole! ❤ Also, Voiceplay did a cover of “Friends on the Other Side” that is amazing!! Great time to watch during spooky season!
ooh I was just reminded that since Halloween and spooky season is coming up Voctave's version of Poor Unfortunate souls/I put a spell on you featuring Rachel Potter is fun (Rachel has done several collabs with Voiceplay). Also their Prince of Egypt Medley (audio only) and tiger You Will Be Found cover are profound! Loved your reaction to this Medley as well. My almost 12yo son loves watching Voctave reactions with me. His request is the Disney 90s TV medley.
If you liked the first two Voctave medleys you reacted to, you have to react to their newest video, Somewhere from West Side Story. I have seen them live twice and they are just as good live in person.
I really hope you get to watch Voctave live in concert because watching them sing this medley on stage is such an epic experience!! For your next reaction, I highly recommend their "Prince of Egypt Medley". Also, definitely look into "Remember Me" (from Coco) featuring Mariachi Cobre and "Someone Like You" featuring Jody McBrayer.
Yes. It’s from The Princess and the Frog which is set in New Orleans but we don’t call it N’awlins. That comes from a specific accent that most people from there don’t have anymore. For context I was born and raised there and I don’t say it that way.
This is such a fun song and I'm so glad they finally did a video for it! Scar is my favorite in this arrangement. Also, the group's arranger is Jamey Ray, the guy singing Hercules, and in addition to arranging and singing, he's apparently a very accomplished pianist despite having only one hand!
