What's up guys! Today's video is reactive jumping for athletes, so it's an explosive strength training for jumping with our starting session of reactive jumping. We hit a good amount of plyometrics today, with the goal of using 1 jump to lead to the next. This focuses on utilizing energy to help propel our jumps, so we train the athletes to be really good at redirecting force fast. Then we show some clips of the lift we have our athletes doing for explosive strength, and then clips of the rest of their workouts. Hope you enjoy!

What age would you say it's safe to load the spine with a barbell? I have two sons that play basketball 14 and 12 years old. So far I just keep them on the trap bar and Goblet squats. Many thanks

For us, once they have proficient strength, body control, and body awareness, we open up the option for a barbell. But we start with mostly dumbbells until the strength levels are there.

Focus on the progression, if they need weights (bodyweight is not enough), just use weights.
