REACTOR - Enjoy A Nice Day With Your Robot Waifu Till Something Goes Wrong In This Sci-Fi Game

That made me kind of sad, I liked the touch of the pink flowers at the end, like she still somehow stayed with him.

something interesting to note with the music: in the menu, the music playing is the first four notes of the "dies irae," stemming from gregorian chant, it is used today to represent death. basically, if you hear the first four notes, you know something bad is going to happen. But listening to the music it seems the entire soundtrack is based on the first four notes of the dies irae. Personally, this kinda freaked me out while listening as I know something was going to happen. Just a neat little thing the composer did for the music

Observations: 1. Infection was activated after receiving external stimuli 2. Infection quickly corrupted a computer system, but did not directly infect the human. Instead robots were used in the attempts to subdue the human. This indicates that the infection can a) interacts with electronics, b) intelligent enough to give orders to electronics, c) potentially unable to interact with human or biological organism directly. C) is further supported by the fact that the infection physically restrained the human be completely covering his suit, but the human was not mobile or reacting. The infection can not control human. 3. The energy source of the infection is unknown. The infection’s volume expanded in less than half an hour. Even after the deactivation of the reactor, the infection continued to grow, covering the entire region or even the planet. Potential source of energy would be the radiation from the sun and the reactor. The infection may be d) able to directly utilise solar energy, or is e) intelligent enough to re-start the reactor. 4. The infection does not rely on oxygen.

So, at the beginning of the game, there is a fax note about how the mc decided to stay in the station despite his wife and son are back on earth waiting for him... dear lord, he do was in love with the AI after all lol

This is just The Thing but instead of cute dogs being infected and making you feel bad, it's a cute robot waifu getting infected and making you feel bad

I normally would say stuff like "If only he didn't pick up that sample..." but, with the way that thing grew and covered the whole planet he was on, he was SOL as soon as that meteor made impact. RIP.

This is the first game of the collection where I really want to see an expanded version. Hopefully the game they mentioned at the end is building on this concept, or else they'll come back to it for a full release. That end shot was an epic downer ending, and the lingering fear that the rescue ship might now be carrying "spores" drives home the horror. I would have preferred to have more "mundane" time at the start, tho. Give us a chance to get to know the game world and form a proper bond with the AI, to make her corruption more tragic (they did a pretty good job of it with the gameplay time they had, but a slow-burn approach would be more effective). Maybe keep the start the same, but add in some time between taking the sample to the lab and it "activating"? Perhaps it responds to the X-ray, so the MC starts applying other tests, and one of _those_ kicks off the apocalypse. That would give us a chance to see a few days unfold, interacting with the AI as we went about our normal chores and kept checking on the mysterious sample... and all the while the player is on tenterhooks, because we know how this is inevitably going to go.

The aesthetics are nice with the only color being the androids face. Makes it easy to find her.

_"Are you flirting with me?"_ MBH looks at robot: "I can work with that". :D Already the video is off to a great start. And yes, it seems the robot is on extra chummy mode. I loved that last little "You've always stunk at cards". And the last image was solid sci-fi with that bit of sadness.

Yeah, you can say he could have just not pick up the sample Haha, no, that is literally his job. Picking up and researching the sample is why the institution hire him. It just like tell the solider if you don’t go to war you won’t die. That’s not how things work.

gotta make sure you get at least SOME exercise in this place, that's why they make you walk miles a day just going back and forth between the hub and comms

For one of these game jam type games, this was actually really damn good. Told a little story, had a pretty scary chase scene, and the ending was damn cool, too. Very artistic game. That monochrome aesthetic looked great - noticed the only colour was in the robot and also the sample.

That was the most "horror" in the collection of dread x 3 games..most of them are just cute games with twists

The ending shows how dangerous the parasite is,consuming anything it can get near to,and the fact that the AI and the player at the end were not safe from it,

"Great news, central! We found the most amazing sample!" **A few minutes pass** "Oh god, please send help!!!"

That was a hella good ending omg the pan out and we see our character. That was hella good.

This was my favorite one from these, i think. It was quick and i knew what was going to happen, but i was actually kinda sad about the AI, it really seems like it tried to help before the thing took over. The music was very somber too, made the horror sequence a deppressing jog towards certain death.

You know just before the scene when the ships goes away ends, it appears an image of a red skull with blue eyes for just 1 frame

The single skullframe seems to show up at 5:17 -ish too when examining the sample for the first time

Space Odyssey 2000 was definitely a inspiration for this, we got a Hal like situation going on, but its a waifu robot instead

Was I the only one that picked upon the background music sounding very similar to a lot of the old Sci films from the 70's?. Whoever did the sound design or composed melody just hit it on the head. Music really follows the old method of "welcome to space, now something is about to go wrong.

I think the other ship got infected, I noticed it got a red Aura around it when it landed.

Alone on a planet with just your robotic waifu... I mean, there are worse fates. One example being what goes down in this game. It was almost sad, honestly. At least the infection didn't escape on the investigatory pod so it's stuck here, for now anyway. Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who was reminded of the Mako.

The soundtrack is spectacular for this game

In proper space horror fashion, the AI controls everything, every option for help or rescue takes an inexplicable amount of effort or time, and despite an AI controlling everything, somehow you still need to walk to the ass end of the station to send messages or access ship controls. That and to quarantine, you need to give the AI control of everything....long before anything goes wrong. In true space horror, there are no engineers!

this game is a bit short i feel as if it should have a sequel or atleast a prequel, the pequel would have just a normal life and how he went to build this robot, sequel could be the rescue team slowly figuring out what happened

Can the creators of this game make it longer and give you a way to save yourself the robot or both if you are quick enough
