@@RuthBiggs-h7n can you imaging the horses thinking it’s about time they stop touching us and the guards putting a smile on their faces thinking what a relief no more fussing or yelling that’s past due years ago
no the horses don't look better. know the signs of stress, licking of lips, chewing on bit, head bobbing., ears back. these people are way way too close.
My thoughts exactly and it seemed as if there were many more people who managed to have their photos taken as no one was monopolising the horse, just having their photo taken and going off. A definite improvement.
I googled that question once and the answer was that young girls do it to make their faces seem smaller and cute young ladies do it to make face seem smaller its like us saying to our children smile for the camera they say cute for the camera alot of Asian countries do it for the same reason.
It didn't matter what you or anyone else thought at that time. They were allowing it to happen which was promoting that behavior. Had they prevented this at the beginning, no one would be petting the horses nor grabbing the reins and trying to feed them apples and candy. In some places in NYC we have mounted armed police. Petting their horses will most likely get you shot, tased, arrested and tased some more, released then trampled by the same horse.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@helenaavelar8342poor horses were mauled to the limits & the more agitated they were getting the more one woman rubbed his nose until.. “ move away he’s trying to bite you “
@@0010-n8q Don't feel too bad. I have seen a video on how horses are treated off duty and I'll just say that I thought about identifying as one and booking a flight HOWEVER, no matter how much I tried, I just can't stand the taste of hay.
@@christinehuber622 I know..so disturbing,,,they treat them like props...whoever is taking these tourists there should explain what it is about. Security person should stay there at all times.
This is one of the better videos I like to see. The Kings guard isn’t high strung from everyone, which makes for a better partner, his horse. Thank you to everyone who had respect of that
I cannot understand those so called responsible parents who place their very young child in front of a horse by themselves with a sign behind stating 'these horses may kick or bite. We do know some of them do
@user-rh7fb1nn6k Apparently, tourists (the adults) become incapable of making good decisions when there's a mob of people around. Only thing I can come up with. Basically, monkey see monkey do!
Who in the heck tells people they have to do the v and they don't know the true story...just stand there take a picture and go away. Its a shame its teachers that are showing no respect.
That horse stands in the sentry box for one hour once or twice a week, every other week, and now no one can touch him except MoD personnel. He has his own farriers and vets and a slew of troopers to look after him and he gets 6 weeks’ holiday in the country every year. In fact, he’s better off than many working humans. So people can stand near him and pose for photos. What’s cruel about that? He’s a working horse. That’s his job. Without tourists there would be no need for horses.
@@iwallace6794 I’m not so sure. Money’s tight. Without the billions of pounds tourists bring, budgets would be cut and expensive non-essentials like the ceremonials at Horseguards might well be the first to go.
Horses are capable of this work. If they were not used, they would no longer be bred and they would eventually disappear. Besides a horse is quite capable of biting and kicking.
Well done to whoever decided to out Do Not Touch The Horses On The Signs. It's about time people were told to leave these majestic horses alone. Let's hope tge horses can relax and enjoy their guard duty now.
Apparently you need to speak English to be sensible and not touch either the horse or the reins. DON'T TOUCH MY CAR AND LEAVE THE STEERING WHEEL ALONE? Really? That needs explaining!
😂 Yeah that's right keep your flithy paws off the Horse! Now all the folks that stand around recordong people touching, getting bite, and yelled at wont have any content for their social media platforms. The guards and their fellow horse can work in peace. Yay 🎉!
Not sure if the Japanese group that's throwing the peace sign everywhere knows that Churchill started that in WWII to indicate Vj (victory over Japan) day. Just wondering.
I am so glad that they are not allowing these beautiful creatures to be treated as though they are in a petting zoo anymore. At least animals in a petting zoo have the option to walk away when they have had enough. These horses had no choice but to endure all the smells and germs. I am sure that they get lots of love while off duty.
Allowing the tourist to crowd the guard and his horse with their stupid antics and equally stupid pictures makes the kings guard look like nothing but a cheap tourist attraction.
It was about time. I suffered from seeing the horses accosted by the tourists. They don’t respect the horses space, these horses are working animals, they are on duty
Never will understand these hand gestures maybe with small children but adults! Just can’t stand there and take a.normal picture! Holding two fingers up silliest and ignorance!
finally keep these streams of tourists away from the horses and kingsguards. You don't have to lie half under the horse and rider to take a stupid photo. This also works at a distance. Horse and rider would then be safer and not so stressed
Now, I think there should be no more tourist allowed in the area at all. They have no respect for the horses nor the guardsmen. You know the horses can't wait to get back into their safe stalls. I feel so bad for them.
These are the King of England's guards and very respectable soldiers, not groomed actors. Guys, finally pull yourself together. Disneyland is in Paris and Florida. Understood ???????
The guards shouting at tourists was just becoming counter productive. People were touching reins and/or horse more just to get a rise out of the guard for their social media.
I'm English and to be honest I prefer it out in the countryside amongst the forests, fields,Bronze Age burial mounds and Neolithic stone circles. There's plenty of history outside of London without the insanity of these crowds.
Doesn’t look or sound like they know English they have said that they want to stop English speaking in the uk so that’s there way of doing things so sad
@marlieskneubuehl2521 I understand not everyone speaks or reads english, they have this app on there phones and they do know how to use their phones that they can take a picture which they know how to talk their picture and the app speaks in there language. They know how to give the peace sign, point to the horse like they have never seen a horse, they even have the little kids giving the peace sign . 😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬
@tinapeacock9207 I see! They should do something more exciting and challenging. Chase cars on the motorway, and see who can tug the steering wheel harder! Mwa ha ha....(Horse = car. Reins = steering wheel - that info is for non English speakers!) Oooh, I'm feeling wicked today! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ,
Bring back the days BEFORE dumb ass social media crap. People were far more relaxed and happy. Now they are all deranged zombie's with noses in their phones. I don't even bother with mine when out. I ignore calls or texts unless they are from the doctor's or hospital, I know they will only ring when important, I will answer if them.
Added comment these are the silliest most disturbing gestures and disrespectful poses and gestures with these Chinese people! You’re not at Disney world this is a military institution with serving members of the military and you can’t show anymore respect than this! And just stand normal and take a picture! Such rude and disrespectful people!
@@raulm1961 I wouldn’t go that far. I guess they think it’s cute. It’s cuter than some people that insist on flipping the bird when you’re trying to take a group picture. Now that’s a stupid thing. You agree?
Especially when children in china are schooled to hate westerners Americans the most. Highly doubt there many. From Japan and other Asian countries yes. A friend of mine was in Japan working for a few years. And just came back to America this year. And was telling me about how a lot of Japanese children would give him the Peace sign even some adults. 🫡
What a majestic horse this one is. They are all wonderful but this 9ne gas such a shiny çoat and his mane is trimmed perfectly. Any idea which horse this is please. I love the way the trooper is looking around making sure the enviroment is safe .
Two reasons, the first one...the horse and guard need room to maneuver so neither of them get hurt, and the other is that is a public foot path. Personally, I'd rather see the adults behaving as responsible people, imo.
The chain linked barriers in the archway doesn't stop tourist from trying to go beyond them. Also, remember that the horses are out for 1 hour at a time and they are working horses. Doesn't make sense to block them in if they have to leave/defend at the drop of a dime.
Better yet. Why don't they just stop all this nonsense? With having their guards out there with horses, they don't need them on horseback. They can stand out there with a dog and still guard the castle. They're just doing this for a show. Cause they need to have something to show to the people, but people are stupid. They don't know how to read.
The new signs seem to be working. There will always be someone who tries their luck. I think there should be the sign on both sides of the arch. Is it just my imagination or do the horses look happier not being touched all the time. 🙂
I can’t believe how pushy people are they don’t care who’s trying to take a picture. They will just get right in front of them they want to take a picture but not with you in it
I'm English born and bred, only been to London three times and last time asked if I could have a selfie with the guard and he nodded, took the picture and I said thank you and thanks for your service and he replied, my pleasure, not one of those tourists asked if they could take a picture ? Manners cost nothing
I know this may sound silly but, not everyone can read English…so the sign means nothing to them maybe a picture of a horse with a red line through may help…..
They don’t! Boxmen and horses take turns at one-hour shifts from 10 AM to 4 PM, the foot guards have two-hour shifts, once a day. I should be so lucky.
PEOPLE PLEASE THINK AND LOOK BEFORE YOU RUSH into get your pictures. I'M TALK TO YOU ADULTS WHO ACT LIKE LITTLE KIDS WANTING TO BE FIRST IN LINE . If you see a tour group and they are already getting pictures individually EITHER WAIT YOUR TURN OR AT LEAST ASK IF YOU CAN GET YOUR PHOTO BEFORE THEM. Most tour groups have a tight schedule to keep. If you're alone or with just your family YOU CAN WAIT they can't. Show some respect for not only the KING'S GUARDS AND THEIR HORSES but also tour groups from other cuntries. Even though you yourself are from another country you may noy know it but you yourself are a representative for your country
