I completely agree on info dumps in fantasy and Sci-fi. Yes, some things could be shown rather than told, but this is (in many cases) a completely new world you need to learn the ins and outs of, and sometimes info dumps are necessary.

Hi Elizabeth, I had to chuckle at the end of the video, I would love to see a video of your one star reviews! I love your sense of humor, and I definitely think you would give an honest review. I love the high pony, but I just love your beautiful hair, period. I used to have long hair, and I miss it. I am trying to grow mine back. Unfortunately, I have not had a lot of time to read for the past several years it seems. I used to be a voracious reader, but single mother-hood pretty much put an end to that. All I did for many years was work and take care of my son. For the last 20 or so years, I have mostly read non-fiction, but 'back in the day', I used to read a lot. One of my all-time favorite books is "Watership Down" by Richard Adams. I highly recommend it, and I think you and your husband would especially like it being fans of Winnie the Pooh. I also love most of the late Lawrence Sanders books. The Archy McNally series is my favorite. Recently (the last 10 years) I have been loving the Charlie Davidson series by Darynda Jones. "First Grave on the Right", "Second Grave on the Left", Third Grave Straight Ahead"). They go up to thirteen I believe, but I have only read to six or seven. Life got in the way. Thanks for the laughs and the reviews. When I get the time, I will check out your Goodreads list. I always love a good book! Forgot my IB/TWT @LizTDesigns for both Socials. :)

I didn't think this would be a video for me, so I didn't watch it until now and to my surprise, I got a book recommendation and what sold me to that book was a one star review! XD The second book had someone writing it's a book for ppl who likes Firefly and Star Wars and I adore Firefly :) I have tended to avoid getting tips of book since I don't have that much money (I've had months where I had to choose between medicine and food a few weeks, until I get money back for the medicine to be able to buy food) and I prefer to read books in it's original language, which can be a problem since I live in Sweden and my Swedish local library tends to only have a few books in English. But I'm going to put that book on my read list. Well the first book and then this book :P

I listened more than watched; I was downloading papers about autism for a research project. I felt your pain. Mostly because, as I was skimming abstracts, I found a study by a group in California who developed a blood test for "early detection and treatment" of autism during pregnancy. (Hint: the way to "treat" autism in pregnancy, according to the abstract, was at Planned Parenthood.) I also felt personally attacked. It was nice to have company in online collateral personal attacks!

i never give any credit to reviews or critiques where they are trying to exert some sense of superiority for disliking it, when the critique turns into a judgement of people who enjoyed it instead of explaining why they did not. i dunno, maybe it’s just me, i don’t like “no room for discussion” people in things like this. also in regards to the second book, one of my favorite quotes is from david mitchell’s cloud atlas (SUCH a cool book btw, I’ve enjoyed all i’ve read from mitchell so far): “But it’s been done a hundred times before!” -as if there could be anything not done a hundred thousand times between Aristophanes and Andrew Void-Webber! As if Art is the What, not the How!”

One of my top fave books is uncle toms cabin...I told my step mom that once like 10 years ago and she said it was horrible and why would I like it so much? Was it my first classic book I had read? It was not and I’m still personally offended by the comment lol I don’t know which book it’s my fave of all time as there are so many contenders! Mr. God this is Anna has a special place in my heart.

My two favourite books, because I can't choose just one, are 'The Mapmaker's Daughter' by Laurel Corona (about a Jewish woman's life during the Spanish Inquisition) and 'Challenger Deep' by Neil Shusterman (a book about a teenager dealing with schizophrenia)! My twitter is @BloobPie!

My fiance loves to make fun of my books but he's also my biggest supporter. My favorite book would be pride and prejudice or this year's favorite was Well Met by Jen DeLuca

Choosing only one favourite book would be impossible! But one I really enjoyed in 2020 was Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. Definitely gonna read its sequel in 2021. I don't have IG or twitter, but if I somehow win I'll share my e-mail!

One of the people on booktube I followed said Aristotle and Dante’s Discover the Secrets of the Universe was boring and bad and I did NOT know what to do 😂😭 I had to pause the video and take a break lol. To be fair, she also said that she was not a fan of character driven stories so I didn’t really take her opinion to heart after that. My ig is literally_literati ❤️

"East" by Edith Pattou holds a warm spot for me. I can't say it's a masterpiece, I'm certain it had its flaws. I read the book as a child but the tale and journey stuck with me. To those who are unfamiliar, it has a sort of "Beauty and the Beast" vibe but different circumstances and based on multiple myths/folklore. As I grew older, I read less and less on my own, thus why my pick is more of a nostalgic choice than something current. Twitter = @deathrogue975

Can I say I am guilty of doing the same thing that you are doing, i.e. reading 1 star reviews of books I loved. Sometimes I would stalk the profile of the reviewer and see what kind of books they read and try to gauge what kind of a person they were, so that I could judge them properly... god this sounds insane in writing 🙈 Thank you for the giveaway! My ig is @obsessive_procrastinator. Also I just love your eyeliner in this video, was looking at it the entire time!

My favorite book is The Martian by Andy Weir and the worst thing anyone has ever said about that is that it's boring. So I totally agree that Sci-fi doesn't have to be all actiony. My Twitter and IG are both mjoy2theworld.

My favorite book is “Les contes de la rue Broca” by Pierre Grimari. I think the English title is Tales of the Rue Broca. It’s a book for kids but still really good as an adult. There are 2 books, they’re great I highly recommend them. My favorite tale is “La sorcière au placard à balai” which means The broom closet witch? I think Tw: @sibsiibb

This is why I don’t read the reviews. I don’t necessarily care if others don’t like books I love.
