Hi guys! I found this old storybook a while ago in my parents' place. I thought you might enjoy hearing some old-fashioned Finnish, so here we go! Anni Swan was a well known Finnish writer who lived 1875-1958 and wrote many books for children and young adults. The story I read here is one of her many children's fairy tales, and it tells about the friendship between a boisterous squirrel and a serious spruce tree.
Translating this kind of Finnish was a little challenging, and I decided not to try to translate it word for word (I believe that would be very hard to understand). Instead, I did my best to convey the meaning and the atmosphere of this heartfelt story!
