At 14:29 and 14:33 I say the exact same thing because I must have copied and pasted the exact same clip, I'm so sorry haha I was probably sleep deprived when I edited that part, but I really did want y'all to know that I did not realise this but the Diviners has been out for quite some time.
Thanks so much for sharing my link *and* for clarifying that they aren't MY recommendations, just my research 🙌 I take NO responsibility!!! Haha but I still hope this goes well for your sake and mine🤞👀
I didn't even realize how much historical + murder was involved in the type 2 stuff haha- my son is also a 2 so I'll have to keep that in mind for him since this turned out working well for you! 💪
@@BooksandLala I also should have realised even before reading that there's some serial killer-y reads on this TBR haha. Thanks so much for watching, I hope you enjoyed 🥰
For future cocktail making, if you are measuring an ingredient by weight you want to put the measuring cup on the scale empty, zero the scale out, then add the ingredients. That way the weight of the measuring cup isnt included in the number shown and all of the weight is the strawberries
When you weighed the measuring cup AND the strawberries... you've got to zero the scale with the measuring cup on it first 😂 But I'm glad it all worked out! Go you!
Mexican Gothic is my all time favourite book. Whenever I describe it, I always say that "the book is a slow burner but it burns really good" and it's true! The atmosphere, the story, Noemi being such a strong woman character, we love seeing that. The book I just finished today is called 'The Hacienda' by Isabel Canas, her debut novel which is another amazing gothic romance book which is described as Mexican Gothic meets Rebecca.
Omg. So I just heard about your dissertation and i did the same subject!!!! My title was: "The Female Gothic in Ann Radcliffe's romances: the characterisation of the heroine and the villain in light of patriarchy". I studied The Mysteries of Udolpho, the Italian and The romance in the forest :)
Ahh I started the henna wars and got distracted but it was so good!! I should really get back to it and enjoy it all the way through. I really need to pick up my copy of the diviners very soon. And I like the crime dark vibes a lot. And yay for evie being a good main character. I'm here for strong storylines. It's weird because most people think mexican gothic doesn't have enough straight up horror when it's not even supposed to... but I do like how you read it from the gothic lens and analysed it that way. I really want to read that one!! And I am so impressed by how accurate these books were for your enneagram.
OK, so now I have to add all the books that she recommends for my type because obviously it works :D And I really like that you have the chapters in your videos :)
Two of my all-time favorite booktubers crossing over! Both channels offer videos that can really suck you in and distract from a stressful day and elevate your mood:) I've also gotten amazing recommendations for books I might not have picked up otherwise from both channels:)
The difference between Friday you and Monday you 😂The Bookoplathon weekend was a TIME! This was a really fun vlog! Mexican Gothic was one of my favorite books from last year, the vibes are immaculate indeed, it made me want to try more gothic books.
Really enjoyed this one. The fact you did this video around bookoplathon weekend is so impressive. I love the Stalking Jack the Ripper series 😍 so glad you enjoyed the books ❤️
I’m also a 2 and 3! If you haven’t already, you should listen to the enneagram songs by Sleeping At Last. They made songs for each number. I resonated more with the song for three.
I love The Diviners (4 stars) and Stalking Jack the Ripper (3.5 stars - I knew who Jack was a bit after the half of the story), the atmosphere is great and the main characters are awesome. I have yet to read Mexican Gothic. I'll continue the series. This video was so fun, and your streaming w Lexie for bookopolathon was super entertaining. It kept me awake LOL (Let's not forget the Cruela facemask)
It's fun to see the back story of your videos 🤭 I mean, you preparing the cocktail for the live that I was watching 😋 (that probably sounds weird, but oh well) And that's a great idea for the video! Makes me want to do a similar video or come up with something original myself 🤔
Domino's is always a good choice! I'm not a type 2 but I love Stalking Jack the Ripper! The fact that you managed to complete this plus a 48 hour readathon is so bloody impressive!
On my way to check out my enneagram type, I’m very intrigued as what it comes out as! Those daiquiris looked delicious! You should try making Mojitos they are my favourite😍😍
Oh lord I need to make some strawberry daiquiris. They’re my fave drink but never made them myself. This will be the perfect drink for summer while reading in the garden
i'm so incredibly excited 🤩 One of my fav booktubers reading Stalking Jack the Ripper which is my ultimate fav book🥰(and I am a type two so I guess it makes sense?) now I shall hope you don't hate it😂
I really enjoyed this reading vlog! It was great to see what you thought of these books. I had read 3 of the 4 here and enjoyed them overall. My enneagram really showed my Gemini side. I tied for 5 and 2 and I don’t know what that means for me. Lol 😂 I feel like I have to retake the test.
Watching you make the cocktail 😂 yelling spoons when you can’t measure below 100ml, ooh I want those scales and then ‘that’s a smoothie to go, it does iced fruit fine’
GAV you should do a vlog where you read the second book in the stalking jack the ripper series and the diviners series I think that would be an amazing vlog. just thinking plus with SJTR sequel I think you would enjoy the what I call the 'sister scene' not saying anymore but I love both of those books, as well for Mexican Gothic it was just so creepy and weird.
@@GavinReadsItAll Gav so happy you like my idea, I hope you are as pos-i-tute-ly happy about the said scene (and I hope I didn't put your expectations up any higher based on what I just sorta revealed
ooooh GAV!!! you have to take into account that where you put the strawberries in also weighs a few gramms and also 120 ml??? 🤣🤣🤣😘😘 i totally love your videos and you!! had to take the test now and I am a 5 - The investigator 😉😎 seems pretty accurate
I went to check my enneagram because I actually really enjoy 3 of those books (haven’t read The Diviners yet), and was curious if I was the same type. Turns out I’m primarily a 4, with 5 being VERY close (the exact same score wise). I need to go find out what that means now books wise!
I guess that's the downside of an audiobook. I just skipped all those Naughty John song parts when I read the book. Although I think I do that with most books... I skip any songs. 😊
@@ComeUndun. I usually ask for half the alcohol when I go out. Yes they will still charge you for the whole shot (at least, I've been charged full price) but it doesn't smack you in the face as much
I mean... Kayla knows her S... stuff... so if she recommends something I will listen hehe...so even tho it wasn't exactly recommendations, I had to go and have a look what she recommends for a 9, and... yeah... time travel... sounds about right 😅
@@GavinReadsItAll hehe I will, might do a bit of a series on my Instagram 🤔 😅 the fact that all of the 9 books are on my want to read list, is kinda hilarious 😁
Next time put the bowl on the scale before turning it on so the starting point is 0g, otherwise the bowl is counted as well as extra weight 😅 soooo that's why you had so much less strawberries than you should have for that amount of rum 😉
I didn't love The diviners and I don't understand the hype around this series 😅 I think The diviners series has many problematic things like romanticing underage drinking and making children/teenagers think that Sam's behavior towards Evie is okay. SPOILER WARNING! I thought I was only one who dislikes Sam because so many readers think that Sam is a good love interest to Evie 😠 Sam kisses Evie without her consent and the author makes this behavior seems okay because Sam is handsome bad boy and Evie isn't affected by the kiss which she didn't want. I can tell you that unwanted kiss always affects people who has experienced this behavior and consent is really important thing. Sam is also super pushy when he is flirting to Evie and I don't understand why the author wants to write this kind of love interest to Evie 🙄
I haven't seen anything about The Diviners as it's not been a series I've followed, so I didn't know how other people reacted to Sam's introduction but it really did repulse me. I agree with you completely on that. It ruined the character of Sam completely from the very beginning, and I have no idea if he apologises for his behaviour in later books or if it's just "who he is" but either way, I don't think I can ever get on board with him because of how uncomfortable I was during that scene.
