I’m kind of middle of the road with The September House. But I’m glad you enjoyed it! I also really liked Home is Where the Bodies Are. For me the ending took me by surprise. I thought it was someone else. I seem to really enjoy Jeneva Rose as I also read The Perfect Marriage by her and loved it.

I read September House earlier this month. It is absolutely horror and anyone who says different is wrong. The source of the horror is debatable for much of the book but the nature of the pranksters is irrefutably horrific. Guts, gore, and violence keep this from being beginner horror IMO

I kind of agree. There was more than one instance of cringing at a grotesque description of something.
