Reading & Northern Fall 2023 - Steam, Diesel & RDC Passenger Trains 

As Summer of 2023 turned to Fall, the Reading & Northern Railroad would enter their Fall passenger train season, operating their usual excursions to Jim Thorpe from Reading and Pottsville, as well as the debut of Fall excursions originating in Pittston, offering passengers beautiful views of the landscapes and scenery as the leaves began to change and the temperatures cooled off. While 2023's excursion season was missing RBMN 425, which is down for its 1472-day inspection, it featured trains pulled by the mighty T-1, RBMN 4-8-4 2102, the F-Units and the Budd RDCs, along with the popular Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway trains.
My friends ‪@sheldonnicholasphotog‬, Don and I made the trip up to the R&N on Saturday 10/21, grabbing the Outer Station excursion pulled by R&N 2102 at Muller Interlocking and hustling uphill at Haucks. We would also grab a shot of the Pottsville Excursion with the Budd Cars and chase the Pittston train northbound, featuring R&N 2023, 40th Anniversary unit on the point.
The next week, on Saturday 10/27, my friend Joe and I would spend the day on the R&N, chasing the Pittston excursion as well as grabbing shots of the LGSR, the Pottsville RDC excursion and the F Unit Excursion as well. Enjoy the video!
