The Farseer Trilogy is the most melancholic piece of literature that I have ever read) It's beautiful, sometimes it's pretty adventurous, but it's very sad( All the same, I love it with all my heart)

I haven't stopped thinking about Powerless since I read it a couple if months ago. I absolutely am obsessed. So glad you loved it. Can't wait until July next year for book two. Also I loved the vlog, such a fun way to get more reading in.

I have not read any of those books, but 3 of them are on my tbr and now I'm more excited to read them my current reading plans are: a short story each day from The Winter Spirits (12 different stories from 12 different authors, and I believe they're Christmas with a bit of scary stuff happening) and then read The Christmas Murder Game by Alexandra Benedict ! annnnd I've just ordered Starless Sea so I can't wait to read it!

I have Powerless on hold on Libby. I wasn’t going to read it but then changed my mind. I can’t wait for Ali Hazelwood’s Bride, a paranormal romance that comes out next year. I haven’t read any of her other books. I might or will just wait for Bride. Your cat is so cute!! 😻 I’ve come to the realization (and I’m sure you and others have to) that fantasy and fantasy romance are mostly about traveling. lol How people in the real estate industry say location location location is the most important thing in buying a house. Well traveling traveling traveling is one of the main things in fantasy/fantasy romance. lol

I tried reading Godkiller and was not enjoying it so dnf'ed it, I started Powerless just to see on the author's writing style so will get to that eventually, and have plans to read Half A Soul in December. Continuing my read of Clockwork Princess and reading Keeper of the Lost Cities. Happy reading!

Honestly I love Laini Taylor's writing so much but I just couldn't finish the third book in the daughter of smoke and bone series. Her writing's immaculate but the devil and angel trope and basically the characters were so cringey that I just couldn't do it anymore and had to dnf the book... It made me sad but I'm very excited to try Strange the Dreamer! Everyone raves about it and I already love her lush and creative prose...but I feel this lovely camaraderie to see you have a similar response to this book! 😂

I've read Daughter of Smoke & Bone (4 stars), Powerless (4 stars), & Love on the Brain (5 stars).

There is something about the Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy and the Strange the Dreamer duology that I have been thinking about since i read all the books, and i never see anyone talk about it. But it can be a huge spoiler, so I understand why nobody talks about it. But I was always wondering if other people realised it and if they thought it was as cool as I did, at the time of reading them! I hope somebody here who has read all the books knows what I'm talking about 🤣

i read daughter of smoke and bone three-ish years ago and i feel the same way about it. i liked it enough but i wasn't massively invested and i didn't really like the insta love element of it

I feel like I didn't like Akiva when I first read a daughter of smoke and bone and the second book is just okay so I never ended up finishing the series. The twist is annoying lol.

i really liked godkiller because it gave me geralt/ciri vibes from the witcher but i agree it has maybe one too many pov's. the romance was my biggest criticism though it definitely felt forced and kind of took away from the story?
