After 2016 election I made a visit to the Ronald Reagan library and when I saw this speech that same day I officially left the Democrat Party.

It's shocking that his words are just as relevant today as they were all those decades ago.

I am fascinated by the fact how they are all patient and listen to him. When I hear Reagan talk, I understand why. He is a master of Stories. May he rest in peace

I was too young to appreciate what this man did for our country and all the warnings he gave us. I do remember watching his inauguration on TV in elementary school..... But how haunting and prophetic his words are..... To simplify his speech, liberals stuck.

His comments about the Cuban are spot on! In all of America's history, we've no doubt made mistakes in the process but if we're not that place of freedom, liberty, hope, dreams, opportunities then there is no other place to escape too! As much as I'm appalled by our failure as a nation to secure our southern border, there's a reason why tens of thousands of people are flooding o it! People from Central and South America, the Caribbean and in a recent report, from Central Europe, escaping the war and Southern Asians! These folks aren't trying to get into Russia or China or North Korea or Cuba or Venezuela or Haiti! People seem to forget that this video was made in 1964. Standing Democrat President LBJ was elected to the White House. The Civil Rights Act had just been passed and the Civil Rights Movement was in full swing. Ronald Reagan himself had ZERO political experience at the time. He didn’t become elected Governor of California until two years later in 1966. Also, Reagan himself had not been a Republican for that long compared to the 20+ years he had been a Democrat previously before switching parties. Plus, his knowledge of American government and how it works was very slim at the time. I think it is fair to say that Reagan was an optimist. But he certainly didn’t have a handle on reality when it came to the average American’s daily life struggles. He still lived happily and naively in that Hollywood bubble.

My fellow Americans. As a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball. But tonight I say, we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!
