I've never not gotten a listing when I was first, but I've had interviews cancelled because I wasn't first. Sometimes they choose the very first agent because they blow them away even though other agents could have blown them away too.
You have to ask if they are interviewing anyone else. If they are and that appointment is before yours then you need to make sure they promise that they will still allow you the opportunity to interview for the hi. If selling their house.
