Hey Cosplayers!
Today, Myron is going to show us how he did a Real Gold Fertility Idol, from the movie Indiana Jones Raiders Of The Lost Ark. As you can see in the video, this prop had its ups and downs, but the final result is amazing!!!

Heft is great for a display piece, but if you're carrying something around as a cosplay piece at a convention or party, the lightness can be a good thing.

Looks awesome. I printed one and tried using gold paint. It's not nearly as nice looking. Future reference, you can fill 3D prints with plaster to give it some heft very easily. Break up the infill like you did, mix a slightly watery plaster and pour it in. It doesn't heat like the resin does.

I know what you mean about the "heft". I add lead airgun pellets and hot glue (so they dont rattle around) to the back of my sword handles to alter the balance point. While they are still super light (foam does not need a lot of weight to counter balance out) it does add to the overall feel of the thing when you have it in your hand.

Totally agree!! I put big bolts in my kylo ren lightsaber hilt to add more heft to it. :)

That’s incredible! Was it sprayed with a top coat? It looked really shiny... or is that the gold leaf with that effect?

Gold leaf gets damaged super easy when handled and since I'll be stuffing it in a leather satchel at cons I decided to throw a couple of coats of sealer on it.

Nice finish on your model but i feel i should point out, the design you're working with is not the one by Tom666. The one in your video is by McKrats.
