After adding bigger tires and a lift kit, this 2012 Jeep Wrangler felt a little down on power. So we do some dyno testing to see if we can make real horsepower gains in our Jeep JK by adding a Delta Force intake from Flowmaster and a cat-back exhaust system from Hooker BlackHeart. Check it out and see what we found!
A few links I hope you will find helpful:
Flowmaster Delta Force intake: amzn.to/2xXmnBl
Hooker BlackHeart cat-back exhaust: amzn.to/2WrlURm
(Note that Horsepower Monster may receive a percentage from products purchased through these links, so thanks in advance for helping out the channel!)
We're constantly uploading great new videos. Please subscribe so you won't miss out!

That’s pretty awesome gains across the power band. I think I’ll be installing a delta force air box as well, still debating on which specific exhaust to go with but the sound on yours is nice.

My comments are mainly on your video. Very, very well done and clear explanations. I am impressed you were able to get the old exhaust off without having to lift the vehicle. I am waiting for a Pypes higher clearance exhaust purchased through Quadratec. Right now, I will likely do a K/N flat unit (no CAI). As one response stated, I will be regearing (through 4WP). Again, very good video. Mine is a 2020, Sport Altitude.

@@kyleolin3566correct most people think intake and exhaust are enough, it’s not the ecu needs to be flashed/changed or your unlikely to see bigger gains due to the map on it. You gain horsepower and a slight increase in mpg when you do it that way. Did I take and new chip on a grand Cherokee got 12 horses and 7 lbft of torque. Was a little under a grand to have done.

Flash tune it so the vehicle knows there are larger tires/wheels. Will make it perform at the optimal levels and also get your Speedo back in line. Then consider performance parts. Just my two cents! Once I did that after 37” tires it made the jeep run as it should and had the familiar response I was used to

The stock intake on the jeep wrangler is a thing of beauty, a rare engineering example of functionality over regulation. You don't need an aftermarket intake on a wrangler, it doesn't do anything, zip, zero. It also increases your chances of sucking water into the intake manifold when you replace it. The exhaust is something that I can get behind though, but you need to remove the catalytic converters and flash the ECU. If you're looking to stay legal, you'll need a custom exhaust to accommodate the lift you chose, if you're hard-core.
@twoallame

Interesting as K&N has a CAI snorkel kit that puts the air intake above the windshield. You must be driving totally submerged

One thing that gets me with these after market intake kits is the lack of accumulators. Those big blanked off tubes on the stock intake assembly are there to hold clean air. When you step on the throttle hard, this air is drawn into the motor to give a better instant torque numbers. They have no effect on average number though. So think of it this way, those are there for taking off from stop lights and sighs.
