2007 Honda CR-V vs 2020 Honda CR-V ... no contest!
The refreshed 2020 Honda CR-V, an updated take on America's most popular crossover, begins arriving in dealerships tomorrow with a refreshed exterior design, new and upgraded features, and a new turbocharged powertrain for the popular LX trim, along with standard Honda Sensing® technologies on all grades. With cumulative U.S. sales now topping the 5-million-unit mark, the 2020 model looks to extend CR-V's position as the best-selling crossover in America over the past 22 years.
The 2020 CR-V goes on sale with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price starting at $25,0501 (excluding destination and handling charges) for the front-wheel-drive LX model, an increase of just $600 despite the addition of Honda Sensing and a more powerful and efficient 1.5-liter turbocharged engine to the LX trim. An all-new, even more powerful and fuel-efficient hybrid-electric CR-V will join the lineup early next year.
All 2020 CR-Vs benefit from new front and rear exterior styling cues, including a redesigned front bumper and grille, and new headlight designs. EX and EX-L trims also get redesigned alloy wheels, while Touring grades get new 19-inch (+1 in.) wheels and tires. The 2020 model also debuts three new exterior colors: Radiant Red Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl, and Aegean Blue Pearl.
Inside, CR-V's spacious and tech-savvy cabin gets a redesigned center console with more conveniently located USB ports and more flexible storage space, while the line-topping CR-V Touring adds a heated steering wheel and wireless smartphone charging.
Mechanically, the biggest change to the 2020 CR-V is the addition of the 1.5-liter turbocharged direct-injected engine for the popular LX trim, which replaces a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine. For the LX, this means more power (+6 horsepower), a flatter torque curve (179 lb.-ft. @ 2000-5000 rpm vs. 180 lb.-ft. @ 3900 rpm) and a higher EPA fuel economy rating (+2 mpg city/highway/combined).
Importantly, the CR-V LX also gets Honda Sensing® safety and driver-assistive technologies as standard equipment, extending these popular features throughout the CR-V lineup.

I 'swapped' a 2007 Civic LX in great shape, with just over 90,000 miles last June ( 1 year ago) for a 2007 CRV EX with 63k original mile..... Plus a little xtra cash after selling the Civic. My parents knew an neighboring woman in her mid 80's looking for something with a backup cam, and I've always been nice to her, so when she completed getting her new 2020 CRV, I scored. Her husband had owned a succesful tire dealer/mechanic shop and the EX had every bell and whistle he could order on it from the factory. Roof rack with crossbars, (not too loud for me) Extra pinstriping and aftermarket extra wood panels in the cockpit. Stored in a garage, driven locally on a regular basis, went to the dealership every 3 months for oil & everything recommended whether she'd gone 300 miles or 3000. My Civic was mechanically sound, but the headlights were so pitted I used my high beams to get reasonable lighting. THIS has headlights that are as clear as glass, from living in the garage most of its life. After selling the Civic, it was around 3k to upgrade from a too short/low (standard design) 2007 Civic w/just under 100k, with terminally weak A/C and no functioning stereo. (mysteriously the speakers went out 1 by 1 around 60k) For something I can slide horizontally in and out of, with MUCH more cargo space, and surprisingly similar in town - 17-19 and I THINK better mileage on the highway than the Civic @ up to 29 mpg on the longest trip I've had it on. AND I'm not falling into the drivers seat, and then pulling myself back up by the uh-oh handle, and out. I'm only 5'9"! Plus all the goodies the EX added over the Civic's LX pkg, COLD air, fully functioning stereo, all the good stuff. Timing chain😊 & recently I pulled out the passenger side 60%, of the rear seats, to convert it into a CarV'ing machine! Not AWD, but I'm not scraping speed bumps either. I've only put about 3000 miles on it since June of '20. And if my interior lights and trunk release would work, I'd be set. Surely all doable by myself, it just hasn't bothered me too much so far. Just saw a mechanics YT channel showing a 2007 CRV with approx 450,000k miles on the original engine. Seems the 2.4 liter engines were good ones. The owner bought it with 75k on it and was aiming for 1 million with just regular maintenance/fluids reported so far. + 2 A/C compressors & I'm sure some interior light bulb $. The owner reported A/C compressors lasting around 150k. Fine vehicle! 20 min, 1 helper = rear seat removal, more interior space than you'd think! I'm single, and I still have the passenger seat and the seat behind the drivers seat useable. I may end up taking out the other rear seat tho. For more camping gear/build out room. I've traveled a lot in a pickup truck with a camper cover, and this is way better than that. Much easier front seat access, & sleeping headroom😉 Hoping to put her on the road after the summer vacations are over and take her to some pretty places I've been wanting to show her 😅 Gave up on trying to date in the new world order, since Covid, so now I'm spending my time and energy on redesigning the interior of my beloved CRV. It hasn't disagreed or complained yet! I've had Civic's and Accords before.... & trucks. If it was actually built higher, (I know, it's built on a car frame) & I had the AWD feature, that would be great, but I'm not putting on a snorkel & taking it creek crawling. I think it WILL get me plenty of places that aren't paved thoigh. Just remember how low it really is. I could see attempting to go places the underside isn't built for, because it feels like it could take it. But, if you're trying to keep the oil pan attached and in its original shape...yeah ♥ HONDAS & CRV's!!

My wife has a 2007 CRV, we both love this vehicle. There's only one disappointing problem. You cannot carry on a conversation at highway speeds. This thing is so loud inside that you have to scream at each other to hear. It's like driving with all 4 windows down. One of the best things about Honda's is that when it hits 100k, it's not even broken in yet. As long as the oil was changed like the manual calls for. I drain the transaxle (FWD) and refill it everytime I change the oil. Drain and refill uses just a little over 3 quarts.

It was nice to see you enjoying your old honda and the new one. What I notices is, that you are looking for nicer and more quite ride. I have a feeling that you can achieve it for a couple hounded of $. I did it to mine and it drives like a dream :) [1] 4 x new coil springs Bilstein (Not Febi-bilstein), or Sache or KYB (Bilstein are best, then Sache then TRW). [2] New anti-roll bar links, front and rear. 4 x New Anti-roll bar links (front and rear) TRW, SKF or something else OEM. [3] 4 x New spark plugs NKG OEM. [4] New PCV valve. [5] Someone should sort for you the breaks. Clean them, put some grease on the crucial parts and flush the break system (which probably hasn't ever been done). [6] I hope you did change your differential fluid every 20-30k miles, if not then your steering wheel might jerk. If so change it twice in the next 10k. It should help. [7] Do Seafoam cleaning {a} add 3 seafoam to your tank {b} use seafoam carbon cleaner in spray - for that you can look for "Project Farm" - what seafoam did to my car. [8] Replace Tie End Rods or the whole rods if necessary. [9] I do not know about the door yet, but have a feeling they can be cheaply fixed. In regards of the new system you can buy Android Car Radio GPS around $170, be sure you check reviews. Even if you wont got for the no. [9] and to the above it, your can will drive again like a dream. If you have someone that know a bit about cars, then they might do it for you for very good money. You shouldn't spent more than $1000, if not find a reliable mechanic or someone that is a car patinate and they probably $500 to $700. You will have a car like new for another couple of thousands miles. You can then safe for newer honda. Just bare in mind, that the Gen 3 is regarded as the most reliable one. I would also change your video title to something like Honda 2020 experience, compering to proven 2007. In your you did 45k miles in the new one, a few only, so you do not know what is like in the long term. It was nice to hear the way you experience the new one, remembering that is only a few miles. I wonder what would you say if someone would take car of yours and did the improvements I mentioned. You might not want to change it :)

Your niece is adorable and a breath of fresh air compared to all of the misguided women i see out there (and on RU-vid). I wish her all of the best luck and wishes for a bright future. One comment (besides that there was no 94 CR-V; 97 was the first model year CR-V we got in the states) is that, if she thinks winters are cold in Virginia, she should visit upstate NY in January. I’d imagine she’d be blasting the heat in her CR-V. 😀
