Real talk about being 30s, aging, adulthood, health (post birthday vlog) 

I’m 53 and I just graduated and am starting over in a new career.. never stop learning and growing!

Life didn’t start for me until the day I turned 30 during the Pandemic. In this order: During COVID I honed my cooking skills, learned to read and speak French, Traveled to France (and French Canada twice!), changed careers from retail to tech (started working for a well known tech giant as an engineer), most importantly I finally learned to verbally set boundaries and make requests. And happiest of all- I met my now husband! ❤ A man committed to hard work & financial gains, inner personal growth, better communication, and building a happy family. All this since 2020! I’m only 33!

My 37 birthday was terrible too and when I reached 36 I was really upset I felt that I'm almost 40without doing alot in my life and the downs that I had were alot alot to count ,, but I recognize that I survived alot too , and I'm still standing and I'm not easy to be broken❤

I just found you by accident, crossing quite a few paths with people with a wide range of interests, and life stories intrigued me from all over the world until I came upon your channel. What shocked me is how accurate the things you said in a few of your videos where you mentioned ageing, getting older and growing up within those times while juggling between life and career. Truthfully, saying, I have failed in my ambition parts of life while back then I was the top student, very good in school, went to college, climbed up the stairs to university, got married and had kids. Thought that sounded too good to be true. Well, not really. On the whole, I have learned to accept that I was the one who needed to change and not have unrealistic expectations, and found the hard way to gain wisdom, and knowledge and make peace with myself throughout my journey as a mom, a sister, a friend - a woman. Now, I know what I want and where I want to be. To grew up and gained life lessons which I shared with my family and friends, and with those who need them the most. This is also one of the reasons why I started my channel - life is somewhat strange and yet, there is beauty even in the odd places. And in odd places, I came across interesting people like you and you shared your story. I am not sure if you realize that by sharing your story, you came to know other people's lives and give hope as well. That one motivates me to try to look up the right theme or subjects of lessons in my Vlogs, hoping I can help people move forward with their lives. I just want to say, thank you for your story, dearest. Keep moving on. And yes, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to you. 🍒Sherry🍒

And I definitely agree you can change at any time and definitely in your 30s. I’m going to be 38 in June. This decade I have gotten a good job. I learned so much about myself and the world. I’ve become a better person, calmer and kind. I’ve learned gratitude. I work with the elderly and I’ve even become a better caregiver and I’m learning more about each decade of life. There’s so much to learn. Life is delicate and beautiful. Aging is difficult in seeing our loved ones get older, life changes, etc and we can always look at older people and worry about the future. But I don’t worry so much anymore. I see how I’ve changed and give myself credit. I see the future and know it’s not a give- in at all. But if I have it, it’s a blessing and I’ll hopefully be able to continue to be the best possible version of myself.

I am very impressed w your English. Can barely tell your Vietnamese accent. Also, 40 is fast approaching for you. If anything, time will only go faster as you get older. Good attitude to just appreciate aging for what it is. You do look just like a mature lady getting close to 40.

I’m 29 and spent a majority of my 20s depressed and anxious. I wanted to party, be crazy, travel, do everything everyone was saying you should definitely do in your 20s but it never happened. Friends never wanted to or were busy and friendships were lost to the point that now, at 29, I only have 1 friend a couple states away and a bf of 7 years that truly wants kids and to get married (I still feel like a child sometimes!) it can be all so confusing and it just seems to be getting worse as I age because everything I’ve ever wanted to do seems to become this impossible list with every birthday. Does anyone else struggle with this and how they coped with it?

It's so messed up that society make us feel worried and concerned once we reach 30. I'll turn 34 this year and these days I've been anxious about that and I don't know why. It's so ingrained in our brains that is a bad think that is manifested negatively.

To think active life "ends" at 60 or 70 as a 30 year old is the same as thinking that life stops at 30 as a 20 year old! Meny are well and healty until atleast 80 many even many years after that! It would be good to kinda take away all thouse wired "stops"... The importante thing is to try to have an as enjoyable life you can (while beeing a good person etc... and I do not mean enjoyable life in the sense to do stupid stuff like go on a monthly cruise drinking vodka for 4 weeks and then be broke and living under a bridge the rest of your life because you decided to have a one month party where you wasted all your money, but be smart, frugal and happy with control over the important stuff in your life you can and want.

I got your video in my recommendations just now and when you showed your window (when waking up, when I saw the outside - I thought "oh that looks like outside my house and my neighborhood) and then you talked about dutch people so I realized you are in the netherlands lol!!! (I'm an expat in the NL, having living here for a few here) But this is so insane and a crazy coincidence lol!!!!

Your voice is so soothing! I was so lost in my 30s. I wanted a relationship so bad and to have children. It didn't happen. I was in the wrong relationships where the guys didn't want kids. In my 40s I decided to do it alone. I didn't have time to wait for the right guy. I gave birth to my first child at 48 and am currently pregnant at 50 with my second child.

You are extremely gorgeous and beautiful, young and youthful. I'm glad that single women in their 30s are making more content. We should also remember that this moment that we are living is the youngest that we will ever be. When we are in our 60, 70s and beyond, we will WISH we were in our 30s and 40s, because we will realise how young that was. So we should be happy with where we are in life, and don't allow the society to dictate what is old, what is expired, what is useless, what is hopeless. As long as we are alive, there is hope, for everything, for all our wishes and desires.

Im 36 single and with a 9-5 job that even tho it doesnt pay that much it brings me joy bc I love helping ppl out. Sometimes it isn’t necessary to make a lot of money or be successful at somethin to feel like you have a good life or that you have ‘made it’. Just be happy you have the necessary things and a little extra to enjoy life. Focus on your health bc thats the real wealth in life and find a purpose like helping others to feel fulfilled🥰

I'm 30 and I'm glad to hear someone else going through a similar situation like me. Lately, I have been thinking about going back to college or study a master's degree, but it is confusing. After months of looking for an answer, I realized that most of my motivation to study was to gain a better "status" in society. I thought studying was going to make me feel better about myself, but in reality, I was just trying to please others. Once I noticed that I took time alone to reflect and realized that I didn't want to go back to college. I want to keep learning in my own way: attending short courses, seminars, or reading books. Letting go of the pressure society puts on us is a good place to start if we want to create a more meaningful life.

This has been weighing heavily on my mind since i turned 33. I was completely lost in my 20s. Health issues, unable to find and keep a job. Chasing girls and partying. Mental health problems. It wasnt until i turned 30 that i finally got a full time job. My first entry level software job and I feel so ashamed and behind. And its made me depressed. I wish i had the mindset i had now back in my early 20s. I dont know wtf happened. Its like the blindfolds are off and ive been hit by realization and reality that im behind. I’m 38 too! I moved to Japan a 24 and lived there for 11 years. I moved to Korea 2 years ago at the age of 36. I’ve not had a typical life so far but I stand by my choices. I agree with you that so many people have this mindset that life ends at 30. But that’s all it is- a mindset.

im 42 going on 43 this year most people think im in my early 30s because i take care of myself, i eat healthy workout throughout the week, and i dont have any kids, i feel better now than when i was in my mid 20s, but with more knowledge on life, The one thing i learned as a 42 yr old man is that you never stop learning in this life, and look forward to the coming years, Age with Pride

Were all just souls on this earth experiencing what it feels like to be human. Society puts all these pressures on us for hundreds of years. Hitting certain benchmarks in life arent really important. Its just about being happy within ourselves and growing as people and forever learning. It took me a long time to figure that out. Im 42 and raising my 9yr old nephew. My life doesnt look like how my teenage self thought it would. But I feel like times are changing. We can all embrace unconventional lives.
