I am reading the entire Bible in a year using a reading plan. The first of the year I started a self study on the book of John. It is taking quite a while because I take massive amounts of notes. Add pages in my interleaved Bible and also add post it notes. To change it up a bit, I was going to start the Psalms and do one here and there. This video was the nudge I needed to get me started. Thank you so much. I enjoyed it very much.

I found it interesting that each book in the psalms ends with what's called a doxology which is a hymn of thanksgiving and praise to God. I have the psalms illustrated book. Thinking of using your colour code in that book as a different way to study the book of psalms

I am having a bit of a hard time parsing this comment. The thing confusing me is I think there might be a autocorrect hiccup, maybe? The titles are listed, but how are they tangentially linked to the study Bible or something else? Like I mentioned, brain is foggy today

It’s interesting that you mention the history of the Bible. We attend a mega-church but when we first joined there were only about 300 people! Our pastor shares his testimony a lot. As a teen and young man he was very wild. He was doing drugs and whatever else you can imagine. He grew up in a Christian home, in fact his father was a pastor. His Dad prayed and prayed for his son and kept asking his son to come back to church. Then the son said if you can prove to me that He exists I’ll consider it. The father challenged the son and said if you can prove that He doesn’t exist I’ll quit asking you. So the son spent a lot of time researching and making calls and reading. But in the end what he did was prove to himself that God really does exist! Praise God! He was saved, baptized and went to Bible college. We now have over 7,000 people who attend our church (over several services) and I lost count of how many churches he’s planted. God had a plan for this man!

I wanted to share what I wrote in my KJV journaling Bible for Psalm 1. Verse 1-Godly rely on God’s Word not the counsel/words of ungodly. Godly stand among saints not among sinners. Godly do not sit judging or scorning. Verse 2-Godly study God’s Word all the time/think about It all the time. Verse 3-God’s Word sustains us and gives us life. God’s Word is alive and active to different seasons of life. Godly endure and prosper in God’s Word. Verse 5-God judges not man-whether ungodly or godly. Sinners do not dwell with righteous/saints. The godly are set apart/holy.

Have you enjoyed your Illuminated Bible? I’ve been considering a journaling Bible and I’ve narrowed it down to two ~ one being this Illuminated Bible. Would you recommend it? Pros and cons? Also, I was wondering if there is a lettering book that you would recommend. I love your lettering and would love to learn! Thank you so much for any advice you can give.

I do love it. The illustrations are gorgeous and add to the experience and the quality is great overall. I think the only downside is needing to get creative with where you put notes if there happens to be an illumination in the margin on a page where you have a lot to say. I honestly learned lettering the most from youtube and practice. I do have the book Creative Lettering and Beyond and liked it though: amzn.to/44ZTy1p

The psalms have been used in ceremonial magic since their inception as that is and was their intended purpose. Failure to understand that aspect reduces them to mere words
