Just to try out how good replicas are these days, I bought a new Rolex GMT Master 2 and a fake one. They were barely different I mean that naked eye couldn't even tell the difference and when you took off the case it even had a fake Rolex movement. Obviously the quality was still somewhat low but most average people won't even notice because they expect to see something like a Chinese movement in there leaving, "Made in China" traces. I have just bought a fake Rolex while on holiday in Italy. $65. The quality, is actually stunning. and I am even more impressed with the timekeeping! It will lose about five seconds a day while wearing it, but it will then gain five seconds overnight while I’m not wearing it. Obviously the heat and cool have an effect on the timekeeping. Mine is so good that everything you pointed out slightly different is the same as genuine Rolex. I have not tested to 300 m or tak n housing off. BUT I typically wear SUUNTO, SEIKO, and COTIZEN (I have one real datejust) - for the 3-500$ I spend on those, I think the quality of this replica is worth 150$ I paid in the Middle East. I can wear it every day and not worry too much if anything happens. Other than it’s hard to easily replace bc I was able to look at it first hand prior to buying. Cannot do that online. Plus I was able to haggle from 200$ to 150$ because I also bought other things.

I have a omega seamaster and it's one of the competitors to Rolex submariner, you buy these watches just because they are something you will always appreciate yourself and not show off and these are built so well that they can last even 100 years and also they hold their value well,fake ones are nice too but for the price of fake ones you can get a good Casio or even a Tissot or a Swatch watch and it's easier to know a replica datejust,day date and GMT master than a submariner or a Daytona

The question here is, are the folks making these replicas that good or is the real watch not worth as much as they seem? Counterfeiting is a scam, but highlights the small gaps in quality vs asking price. Another question to ask is, should we be upset that there are Counterfeits, or should we be upset that Rolex may be asking too much for their products? I have had 3 fake Rolexes in the past 5 years. The first one kept perfect time for a year or so. The second two stopped working after 2 months or so. All together I spent over six hundred on these fakes. I had my Seiko repaired at a jeweler for 150.00 and it looks and runs great. It's truly impressive that replicas with such a high similarity to the original can be made, and sold for such a tiny fraction of the price. And it really shows that Rolex watches are heavily overpriced. As mentioned in the video: while the best replicas are of decent quality you get better product if buying an original watch of a legitimate brand. BMW used to much more reliable and so did Mercedes. Their performance in the past was also very good. You are falling for the whole “German Engineering” marketing garbage. Their manufacturing and design slipped over the last decades because they know if they make the cars too reliable you will never buy the newer ones. It’s part of the business. There is "cloned" movement's especially the 3135 and ETA's they're based on the Swiss movements however they're normally referred to as Asian movements so it's easy to see why people are getting it confused.

More then likely the finish/appearance of the fake is going to be so obvious you won't need to go any further then that. How ever, If the fake's movement looks immaculate on the exterior, removing the oscillating weight and automatic winding moduale to reveal the finish of the mating surface of the plate. All that being said, If you own or have any experience with Rolex, winding the stem on a fake should be the dead giveaway.
