Your very good! You seem to know your colors well. You start out with just splotches and turn it in to something beautiful. I love painting portraits but I have to use acrylics for now due to money. You are a very good artist! Could u make a video talking about how you got into art and show some of your old work? Would love to see !
Hi Isabelle, this is gorgeous. I'm a (self-taught and as a hobby) portrait artist as well. May I ask which paint brand you use and which colors you use for face tones? Thanks in advance :)
Deborah, for paint, I use Winton oil colour by Windsor & Newton. The colors I use for skin tones differ from one painting to another depending on the lighting, the background, the skin pigmentation, the age and sex of the model? I don't have a definite recipe but I use the following colors for the moment: Sap Green Viridian Hue Permanent Green Light Indian Yellow (ARTISTS' oil colour) Cadmium Yellow Pale Hue Cadmium Orange Hue Vermilion Hue (permanent) Permanent Alizarin Crimson Cobalt Blue Prussian Blue Cerulean Blue Hue Vandyke Brown Burnt Sienna Yellow Ochre Titanium White Lamp Black Burnt Umber Violet (marque Van Gogh) Payne’s Gray Cadmium Red Light I wish you all the best!
I could watch you paint all day! I can draw pretty good & do alright shading & what not but watching your pieces come to life blows my mind every single time I watch! Your work is impeccable! Thanks for sharing!
Not only are you talented but your sight is especially appealing because you share your paints and substrate selection with us. So frustrating when that info is not available, Thank you. Do you offer any books or courses?
Absolutely beautiful painting, as with all of your others. Not sure that it matters, but the left hand appears to be slightly wide. That rather large hand does not match the head and face size. Was it your intent to make her appear fragile and strong?
How could anyone draw like that.... I can't believe. Your hands are unbelievable... Incredible and outstanding.. Very well drawn. All the pictures drawn by you are unique. I just loved it. 👍👍
So beautiful! Her face, the background even the bark on the tree. Her golden skin is amazing. I learned a lot from this video. I just wish I knew how much dry time in between layers but I can work with that.
Thank you for your comment Julie! The drying time depends of the color used, the amount of medium, the thickness applied, the room temperature and humidity... It is hard to say. Between 1 to 5 days. It has to be dry to touch.

WTH, seriously? Incredible talent. Did you paint this without letting layers dry? What is your favorite medium? Are you self taught? Thank you so much beautiful, talented lady!!

I am using Winsor & Newton Oil Colour Artists' Retouching Varnish. This allows me to protect my paintings and to retouching them again even several years after having "finished" them. Thanks for watching linda!

Excelente trabajo Isabelle Richard! Felicitaciones!!
