Reality Check: NOTHING REAL | Let's Stop Comparing! 

Fake reality and comparing myself to others is one of the reasons why I’m not active in social media anymore. Don’t have a twitter anymore, instagram app deleted(but not deactivated) and no fb app & also deactivated. I only kept my utube app and messenger app because I still need to talk to my parents & people for school & tbh my life has been a whole lot better 💓I don’t constantly stalk other people and then feel sorry for myself after.

The thing I love about Solenn is that she knows she's privileged, but she doesn't shove her privilege down everyone else's throats. Keeping it real and humble and acknowledging that everyone is taking a different route. This video is just so good.. Many people don't realize it when they spend too much time on social media, they tend to seek validation, so instead of being true to their self, they create something that they are not.

I couldn't agree with you more, Solenn! I have a good career with good pay, a nice car, travels a lot, can buy anything I want, to make it simple: I live a good life and I am aware of how blessed I am. But I still feel like I wish I had more, and that would trigger my anxiety. It's not always the material things that you are jealous of. Like I wish I was as charming as Solenn (lol), or I wish I was more athletic. These are things that I see on someone else's feed too. But really, we all just need to take a step back and appreciate what we have. The happiest people I know seem to never compare their lives to others! As they say, if you got it, flaunt it!

Well, that's the dark side of social media. People may have good intentions of influence by posting stuffs that they think they know are helping. Based on what I have been observing, on instagram, on facebook or on twitter, everyone's living a happy life. Every milestone in life and every relationship situations are being shared. It's okay but it's not always okay. People today would post everything na parang kulang na lang pati pagpasok ng banyo, paggamit ng tissue at pagpunas ng dumi ipopost pa. It's always good to know that someone would tell us that we must live life outside of social media. Kase, we can't always get the good stuffs on social media. Hindi porque nakita mo yung idol mong artista, goals na. Seeing every good stuffs na pinopost ng friend o idol mo is not always positively affecting you. In the real world, mas nakakadepress minsan yung makita mo yung mga tao na parang nagyayabang ng buhay nila when you are in the stage where everything is falling apart. Although hindi naman talaga nila niyayabang ang buhay nila, it somehow becomes the intention. Kase, it's social media. If you watch the breakup videos of some famous youtube celebrity couples like Jesse and Jeana, Liza Koshy and David Dobrik, one of the deepest reason is that they have posted too much of their personal lives as a couple that it left them very little space for their privacy. And it's destructive and unhealthy for any relationship. Not every personal life must be shared. Not everything must be posted. And as a netizen, it is always withing our discretion to filter what we want to see and what we want to react with.
