That military machete for pilots is also used as a "canopy breaker" to bust out of the wreckage by breaking the plexiglass. Like Lars says, not needed for civilian survival use. GREAT channel!
Wow straight talking no bull shit! Respect from UK. You should monetise theses videos I’d happily sit through a couple adds for the free tips snd tricks
Btw Amber. I saw you asked in a comment(can't find it) if i could do a video on how to make the bottle razor tool. I will see if i can get it done during the coming week ;)
Ага, теперь я понял про что мне пишут мои зрители ))) Спасибо за популяризацию Бутылкореза и ПЭТ ленты И отдельное спасибо за активную ссылку на мой канал ))
Адвокат Егоров Do you speak English Sir. Can you or will you show me how to make the tool that cuts the plastic bottle ? I would like to try it out in the swamp of Louisiana. Thank you sir
Lol Spice Many thanks. I already have this in my feed. We obviously have this in common. Good to hear from you and please let me know if you find more of things in our interest. Waiting to hear from you again and have a good night. Michael
Think about it for a sec :) Even a good Leatherman tool is like that. The pliers are pliers but not as strong as real pliers, the knife is "just" a folder, the srewdrivers are OK but try and screw out a really tough set screw and.. Yes it's still good, useful and handy but not really good at anything :)
So damn tru...i have never had more than 1 or 2 multifunctional things actually be multifunctional or good at shyt. My hennesy hammock is technically multifunctional and actually gets used in those ways and works well...seea to summit pocket shower doubles as an outstanding drysack...think my S.O.G entrancing tool is pretty multifunctional and useful also...but. Thats about it. EVERY other "multifunctional" tool that I have ever owned sits derelict and decaying...long forgotten, why, you may ask. Simply bc its not good at anything.
It's great that you mentioned not to leave cordage waste behind. Every time I go fishing I fill my pockets with discarded fishing line. It's so easy to just pick up and dispose of properly. What a great little tool .
I think you are the first guy I have heard (1) use the word "donate" (2) tell how you would use those donations & (3) why you wanted them. Very refreshing from the usual. Bravo!
Thank you :) I actually also used the donations as I promised. If interested, please look up "The Survival-Russia Vehicle" on my channel. Have a great Sunday!
@It was ME , DIO I hope you are joking :) about drinking your own pee. Those "$urvival" shows also feature such things as a guy swimming under a frozen river . . . These are some of the best ways to creature a self made blunder and die very quickly. I knew a guy who drank his own and even he knew NOT to do it in a survival situation. This will make your body evacuate water and other toxins much faster than usual then, dehydration becomes a serious issue.
Survival tool "human neck" . Head on a swivel, beware of bears! Good channel. This is the kind of "Russian collusion" we actually should seek after ! If you get my drift?
I was already giving $5 to your channel. After watching this and hearing that you only promote products you like and your plans for the money I plan on increasing my monetary support. Cheers from U.S.A!
Thanks Steven! Yesterday a company wanted me to promote "Ultra Safe Lithium Jump Starters", of all things. They thought it would fit well into my channel LOL Hilarious actually.
Ok, that tool is awesome! My mind went crazy with the possibilities from shelter to hunting traps to first aid. And its easy enough to make with some basic tools. Great video man, great job.
I have used bottles for small cordage before...but never thought of heating it...it works very well; thanks! Great vid. LOL...I have "subshared" already! :)
Ender Z - This is of course quite true but it should be pointed out that it should only be used in a survival situation because the heating process releases the chemicals into the water. Non harmful short term and a worthy survival technique but just felt the point should be made.
Liked, shared and subbed. Just now discovered your channel and I'm so glad I did. Great quality video and wonderful narration. Quite nice to learn a bit about your corner of the world. Thank you very much sir!
As a gear geek, you have some impressive selections... Never thought about including a cordage tool in my kit, and you can find discarded bottles practically anywhere.
That is brilliant. I never would have thought of stripping bottle plastic like that for cordage. AWESOME!! Ok, the tool I think I'd live without but it sure made the job easy! Nice one Lars.
Great video, Lars. I was actually wondering if no companies contacted you to review items for them. I got my answer. Well done on keeping it real, man.
silky makes top quality products. mostly arborist saws but also some amazing carpentry saws. my first sub to a survival/bushcraft kind of channel. thanks for being concerned for nature.
This is a really interesting video, and makes a point I'd never considered; due to the fetishisation of the military in pop culture, we always assume that soldiers have the best gear, but in reality, a lot of military gear is for emergency use only. It's like the option of using an emergency parachute or just buying a plane ticket.
You can use the bottle bottoms for bowls and the bottle uppers for funnels! I have one of these devices that I can clamp to a table for pulling a bunch of cordage! This is an Excellent "Re-Purposing" of what most people see as trash/waste!
I watched this video a year ago and i have made the tool and some better like he mentioned i have used the cordage for making bamboo doors and bamboo privacy fence and even use it for holding wood barralls together before putting on metal banding and i like this guy very much he is smart and seems completly honest
Loved the bottle tool, so I told the wife about it. She already knew all about it. Apparently it is well known in the crafting community. People make all sorts of things out of the plastic cordage it makes, from rugs to purses and more. Fascinating little device.
I LIKE this guy's demeanor and style. He connects well with the audience, but he's still on topic. 6:18: "....but it's a good trike....because I could get myself into some REALLY GOOD trouble. ..." Haha, right on, my friend. (as we watch the rescue footage . ...in which he actually survives: "Now WHY did he go and do that!?.....". Pan over to the trike "oh yes, yep. NOW I see...")
First time viewer, subscribed right away. I like your approach to survival, no nonsense just the bare necessities. Tried to check out Advokat Egorov's channel as well, but it was all in Russian, and no subtitles...and as you probably know, the youtube auto-sub is utter shait.
@@jakobknudsen2122 He also got a really thick danish accent. Most danes on youtube you can hardly tell that they are danish, but this guy you could tell straight away.
Very cool video, I saw in another video someone making cordage from bottles like you, they were thick, but I just saw you making them thin too, that’s awesome, because it can be very strong as you demonstrated. Great video, keep them coming.
I love the fact that the tip of his silky saw is broken. this happened to mine after two hours of constant sawing and i was not carefull enough because of exhaustion. Still one of the best folding saws out there and I would never swap it with another unless its another silky.
Great video! And great tool. Unfortunally (or fortunally, depending on how you look at it), there are very little bottles and litter out in the nature of Sweden. Most of our countrys population is very strong headed about leaving garbage around - even aserbic, as it is.
Yes i know Swedish nature quite well. Like in the rest of Scandinavia you have a good habit of cleaning up :) Anyway on the banks of the bigger lakes it should be possible to find plastic bottles. Maybe not :)
There is almost no place to 'survive' in Sweden - or Europe in general - you just walk another couple of kilometers and buy what you need in a local shop. Or at least ask locals for help, or just dial 112 on your mobile (with good mobile coverage virtually everywhere). So the only 'survival tool' you actually need is a good smartphone and a spare battery or power bank. So you could either just call or - if you prefer - enjoy RU-vid for a nice survival video like this one. === I am thinking: after all may be this is wise of us - Russians - to through the 'survival garbage' everywhere around Russia and not to clean places properly. So a can or a bottle could save a life really ))
Here's a tip! Use heated water to shrink the plastic, it'll keep it from getting fragile from over heating. I really like the notion of using plastic bottles as cordage, wonderful idea! Great video! Hope you get that cam and vehicle.
Not sure the shipping cost for this idea but maybe start a ''GoFundMe'' account and for "$XXX" donation amount offer one of those bottle cordage makers with your signature on it making it extra special. I've seen others do things like that and do very well. Let's face it fans like to connect with who we like. Just an idea.
Man your'e awesome! i just stumbled upon your channel and really like the way you present yourself. no frill, no fan fair, just your own opinion and what you think works, kudos to crediting the inventor as well. I like your channel. Keep up the good work brother.
You're a cool cat. You would love Southern California. Beaches, deserts, mountains, etc. Love the Ural mountains (really dig the Ural 6x6 trucks!). Great tools- got the silky 500 saw, and the silky 240mm double edge hatchet on the way because of you, Great videos! Thanks!!
It's a good camera but an action camera and it has it's limitations. Anyway the viewers helped out fast with a new camera. I'm using that one in the newer videos :) Thanks for the comment Win.
Recently purchased the F-A3 survival shovel and blah blah blah, wish I would have found this channel first. I don't really sub to much cuz I feel it defeats the purpose of having a refined list of channels but this was an easy subshare... Survival Russia, you're doing it right man. Btw thanks for the shut out to the other channel. Can't wait to check out that guy
Outstanding video- that really is a creative and brilliant tool- and you are right about military gear- as a U.S. Army member I can tell you a saying we have about Army equipment- "It was made by the lowest bidder charging the most" Haha! Спасибо друг
I just made one of these bottle rope strippers. It's pretty hard to get the rope started but once it gets moving you can just pull the cord from it. The cord is really strong too!
First time here. Achtung lol. That was the Furher's dream, German speaking people in the East. Liked your tip with the bottle and good show on the low heat to seal those raps. A couple of fraps on each wrap would help. Thanks.
Love your Video's Brother. Lots of Luck to you from an Iranian Living in Denmark :). And Happy new year to you and familie and everyone. Keep the good video's up :)
It all depends. Generally a person needs other things than just a knife. As example, try to survive here in -30C or -47C with a knife easy to sharpen :) But yes, an easy to sharpen knife is a good start :)
+Survival Russia you might as well carry your entire house with you. If you are talking about one single item that you can take with you. I think a knife is a good choice as a knife could help creating other tools.
A knife is a good start! With it you can cut wood for a fire. If you don't have matches or a magnesium starter, well you're screwed anyway. But if you have matches and no knife, it's harder to make a good fire.
You're the Tupac of survival. (From NY, California Love; thug life anyway. And I'm going to use this craft at 6:10 to find my way into some quality ass trouble... which, by the way, I will SURVIVE, WHILE cooking and cutting delicious strips of bacon.) I've definitely subscribed. You connect well with people, my friend.
@Survival Russia I appreciate you teaching people the importance of a good hatchet, which for me is the foundation for thriving in Bug-Out-Bag situations. It has saved my life a few times in my 30 year existence, and is a tool that has a multitude of uses.
Dear Confused Pilgrim Tjorre B ....Survival Russia is a German speaking Dane who happens to live in Russia and who hasn't had an encounter as yet with a Sasquatch and neither have you ... So, you sir are speaking about something you know nothing about! Thus, your speaking for him about a topic you know nothing about .. is complete foolishness and doesn't make any sense at all.
My favorite survival tool is my 19 inch machette which I made myself useing techniques from RU-vid videos. I ruined several good pieces of steel but finally I did it. It's great for chopping, has one side serrated for cutting, very sharp and in the unlikely event it gets damaged I can make another one. And it will be handy should the zombies attack
That was a pretty kick ass video straight to the point and not bought by brands or cheap bs I've only seen this one video and I already subscribed your the shit bro keep it up
You just got a new subscriber! I'm always interested in different views on equipment and I found your video really interesting. I look forward to seeing more.
The hatchet like the pilots axe is also used to hack their way out of the airplane if they are jammed in after a crash .After a crash doors and hatches most likely will be jammed . Most airplanes and jets are made of aluminum except for the plexiglass windows so a steel axe can be used to chop your way out of the aluminum fuselage .
So its a channel called "Survival Russia" Your accent and your patch is german and the people in the comment saying you are danish ... so could you clear up the confusion ?
I really like the way you show how to survive and just other aspects of living in a harsh environment like where I live in Canada. Your the only one who doesn’t give a f@ck about -20 or worse weather and that’s what makes you have a a great and proper view on what I see out my back door. Good job bud!
This guy is now one of the reasons I hope for peace between our two countries. I'm heading to the store to pick up what I need to make one of these now. Thank you.
Hi Lars, great to see your channel having grown so much. It wasn't but a few years back and we were conversing about how I'd gotten 19 subs (I was your first or second sub at the time). LOL, I guess I should have broke down and bought a video editing program after the one I had crashed. I took down my videos after the Google Plus thing ticked me off. Anyways, I guess I'm feeling a little nostalgic watching your video, thinking back to the "old days" on RU-vid for us.
joining items together is one of the most beneficial things to be able to do. Think of the benefits. Any sharp tool can be made longer to keep you further from a clawed animal. You can make walls and roofs by making thin tree limbs Wiiiiiide. Also, traps, splints, dragging things with a yoke instead of you hands. I enjoy reusing trash. We should get out of our wildernesses as fast a we can . So, why not use it when we are there. I HATE SEEING Those grey plastic grocery bags. Those thing kill fish, birds and other small to medium game and non game animals. It makes me sad just thinking about those thing cloying up a small creak or run then causing who knows via the estrogens in the plastic leaching into the water. SORRY I'll stop. I wanted to say You can make rope out of those things. When the trip is over bring them back to your home and recycle them if possible.
Not all America are mean & cruel or clodblooded. most of us crave & desire to live in peace with All other country's & All other people foreign & domestic. You made a Great video don't let anybody deter you, keep posting more informative & educational video's. Great job done!
Thank you :) No worries, i know there are lots of good Americans out there :) It's just politics and big business which like to make problems and play populations out against each other.
I love how you said something that can get you further in than you can actually walk out that makes a lot of sense why you don't use four-wheelers or snowmobiles plus the terrain of course
