Exactly! They will find a tiny ass hole in the ground, go deep as hell, pass waterfalls and death pits. And at the very end they will find someone's support anchor. Makes you wonder whay absolute chads are out there right now.

If you go back to the intro of the video: That's a former cave in the ground that collapsed. It started life through that hole they go through. Water eroded the softer compounds in the ground and left the stronger rock behind. It does so by either taking away the minerals or by erosion with other loose bits (kinda like water blasting - sand blasting with water). I'm sure you've seen concrete under a leaky spot near the roof. If it's been at it for decades, the concrete is just that much less even with the rest of it. That's because water's been chipping at that concrete, making it easier and easier to break apart from it. Freezing and heating cycles also count, the more water in the microscopic pores of the rock (or concrete) the faster it goes. Porous rock will split in half if you soak it and let it freeze over night (well, not exactly overnight, sometimes it takes a few cycles). That's the super basic info on it. TLDR: Water and time will create mountains where plateaus once sat. Here's a funny: if you go to river banks and find super flat bedrock exposed that has deep grooves scratched into it, or if you find a big, big boulder that looks as if someone cut it in half with a massive diamond saw... that's also water's fault. Frozen water from the glacial periods, where ice was as tall as skyscrapers across the land and carved entire areas as it moved, flowing and carrying with it rocks that scraped the ground flat. I've seen what one could call decent runways for a light aircraft worth of strips carved in this fashion, where the bedrock was flattened completely. Some people think that natural bedrock is flat, where in reality, it's not, it can actually be very jagged. So when you see these formations, they're quite shocking, especially when you find the culprit rock that did it, if you follow the scratches (doesn't always happen, but i've stumbled on a few flattened boulders the size of a house in my explorations).

I'm quite curious about who put those bolts in probably decades ago. Particularly the rusty ones that you climbed up on before going back. How did they over there PLUS put the bolts in freehand without falling? Even if there was an entrance to that point from another area, the two rusty bolts are over the pit itself. Could they have leaned over and nailed one in somehow one-handed and then hung from that one temporarily while putting the other one up? Our perspective may be a bit skewed from the camera, so I can't really tell what is what and how far something is in person. Would have been cool if that person that made the snowman would have left a note in a sealed container so that we could see who had been there and when.
@rymo2276
@rymo2276 Год назад
Drill a bolt and clip to it and reach out the direction you want to go and place another bolt then clip to the new 1. On the way out leave 2 top bolts and only the bolts needed to hang a traverse line. Remove the unneeded bolts leaving nothing but little hole in the wall.the tiny wholes are Sometimes shown on camera.

I play Valhalla AC, and I wonder about some of these formations, ever seen anything that looked not terrestrial? That noise @ 0953 made me think someone was down in that spot with you for a min. My goodness, at 13;30 those rocks look just like live insides of something not quite of this world. And there goes my imagination again.
