Nicely done on the review! The simplicity of the awning itself is a selling point. Do you have experience using it in strong winds?

Selcouth Horizon it really is super simple. No fancy editing, I set these awnings up myself in a couple minutes. Love them! And yes, we’ve had them out in pretty heavy winds plenty of times. I always stake them down, or tie down to our water jug or rocks. Usually at night I’ll drop the legs to the shortest setting. Let’s rain water runoff easily if it rains, and less wind coming up from underneath.

what brackets did you use to mount this to your roof rack? not sure which brackets to buy

We actually just use the L brackets that come with the awning. They bolt onto our Gobi rack on the mesh part of the rack perfectly

leviph yes the awning attaches with simple L brackets, you would need something to attach those to on the vehicle 👍

Can you open the rear hatch glass and lift it up all the way without any interference or issues hitting the awning top?

Yes, the rear glass opens just fine. It just touches the awning fabric when the awning is extended straight out. But we put a pitch in the awning for rain/sun often which makes a little more contact and still no issues

Thanks for the review, I am trying to decide on an awning to purchase. Does the rear glass interfere with the awning when you open it?

Only if you really angle the awning with a slope. Otherwise the glass comes right up to it (and even with a slope the glass still opens, it just rests on the canvas). Your results may vary some depending on what rack you’re mounting to as height may be different.

Hey sorry I missed this! The awning comes with universal L brackets. It comes with everything to install as long as you have a way to bolt it to your rack
