Good clear audio, no unnecessary background music, everything is shown, good lighting - this is a perfect How-To video. Thanks a million and well done! Ride safe.
Just wanted to let you know the step by step clear instructions helped me do my back brake on my 2013 RG and I’m so happy to have saved $$$ doing this myself thank you so much
Thanks so much so this awesome video.. I'm a pretty competent mechanic but I shy away from motorcycles.. Don't know why but I do. I own a 2015 Ultra and I'm doing my own maintenance on the bike and videos like yours really really help to get my confidence level up concerning working on my bike. Thanks so much.
I just found your channel. Stuck at home during this pandemic, I really enjoyed the CO travel video. Searched for your channel and hit subscribe after watching this one. I mean no disrespect to the law abiding channel but I like yours much better bc it doesn't feel like an infomercial. Stay safe, stay well and hope your channel takes off, brother. 4/12 is my one year anniversary with my 2015 Ultra Limited after a lifetime of metric. Favorite bike of 8
Hello Higgins! We are glad you found us and glad you are enjoying the Ultra Limited! I'm working on a complete fluid change video on my 2018 that I hope is helpful to someone. Next week we are doing a brake and clutch flush and refill on my brothers 2105 and my 2018. Stay safe out there!
This was very helpful in changing the rear pads on my wife's 2015 Street Glide Special. Along with being helpful, I got a good laugh every time you fast forwarded the video. Sounded like the Chipmunks working in the garage. Thank you for the help
Nice work, and appreciate that you included cleaning out the caliper with brake clean. So many vids don't show that, or actually skip that step. I would recommend starting the caliper pin before placing the caliper back on the rotor so that the pads stay in place. I gotta get one of those table lifts.
With a lot of channels on RU-vid one always is shifting through content wondering what opinions are accurate and trustworthy. After stumbling upon this channel and having watched some of your content, my first thought is “you can trust the Tolleson Life channel”. This is why I’m subscribing. Thanks for great content!
I enjoy your channel and videos to the point that I just watched this and don't even own a Harley or have ever ridden one. Miss your RV videos though. Stay safe.
Again, another Very helpful video. I really like the way you explain the process and with good video angles from the camera. Thanks again for the help.
I’m new to the Harley family so keep these great videos coming. I especially like the way you and your bride work so well together to produce videos, the outtakes are so funny.
I was doing brake pads on my Harley when I found guy in texas, Mark Lipski with (TCB) Traction Controlled Braking. He developed a elongated banjo bolt with air diaphragm that makes a Non-ABS brakes Act Like ABS! My rear wheel stopped sliding out from under me on really hard braking an shortened braking distances considerably!
Awesome video great job. I’d like to a little about putting the caliper over the rotor with new pads, can be a real booger. Great video, you got a new follower!
If you had to remove the inner pad to gain clearance for removal how did you install it with both pads in place? How did you gain the clearance for installation?
Hey Rat Fink! Great meeting you guys too man. I was watching one of your videos the other day of your ride to a campground during Bike Week! Good stuff man! Y'all stay well down there! Hope to see ya again in October!
First off great video! Secondly do I need to have the paste to put on the back of the pads or is it recommended for Anti-Noise? I did notice the brake pads box did say anti-noise brake pads.
Nice garage! Great video - looks nice and simple. I have a '15 Limited and may need to do this soon. What about the front pads, since they do the bulk of the work? Have you done a flush and fill of the old DOT 4? That's something I need to do since I still have the original fluid. Law Abiding Biker has a great video on that. Can you add side boards to that lift so you can ride the bike up and put your feet down?
Hey hogdriver88! We haven't performed that service (Front brake pads) on our Road Glides yet. In the next video we are going to do the flush and fill with the brakes and clutch. I tested mine yesterday for moisture and it was over 4% ! Time to change it. I have seen people add (aftermarket) side boards on the lift. That is the only thing I don't like about it, I may get another later that already has the side boards like the Titan lift......My brother lives on the next street over so that helps! All the best man, I let ya know how easy or "not" the brake and clutch fluid change turn out.
Looks like the pads are glazed over. If you go to Jerry Paladino's youtube channel Ride Like A Pro, he recommends a certain brand of brake pads that don't squeak. I'm gonna give them a try on my work motor next brake service
Hello Darren, I have the Wheel Dock on my lift. Its awesome, but a little pricey. ($200) I would have gone with a cheaper one but I already had this chock in the Toy Hauler and just move it to which ever one Im using. Here is their link: wheeldock.com/products/wheeldock?variant=26294025411
@@TollesonLife When you say “contend,” do you mean just make sure it’s not being messed up when taking off the caliper? Or is there something else you have to do?
@@mrpayne1981 yes, you have to get that old brake fluid out of the module, according to my dealership, to do that I had to activate the system through emergency braking which moves the old out and pushes in the new fluid. Then flush the system again.
@@TollesonLife Hmmmm That sounds like more work than is needed. There’s no way that’s all needed just to replace some pads. Thanks for the advice…but its gotta be easier than that. Dealerships will always tell you more is needed just so you will pay them.
Maybe I missed it? Last step should be to "Hand pump the foot pedal". On front pad replacement is even more important to hand pump the brake lever. Take off on the bike without doing this will likely result in a CRASH!!!
Next time you should consider of using brake cleaner and toothbrush before you push your break pistons into caliper. Otherwise your brake piston seals will end life fast.
