What am I watching today? Another informative video from Kenny. I can't get enough. What is great to see is his subscriber numbers increasing. Every day when I view his channel, the count has gone up by some considerable margin.
Hi Kenny. I am over here in Donegal in BEAUTIFUL IRELAND. I really enjoy watching you in action with all these different motors. Keep up the good work. SEAN.
Sir I used a 5# slide hammer with a pulling screw that is put in between the metal that holds the seal and the outer metal edge that is tight against the axle tube and if I have to pull both the bearing and seal I will use a special adapter for the slide hammer that goes in thru the seal and bearing and then the special tool pivots and pulls against the back of the bearing to that pulls them both out together. Special tool looks like a big bolt with internal threads for the slide hammer on 1 end and sort of like a big washer with the top and bottom shaved off . Saved me a lot of time when replacing bearings and seals from police cars when they didn’t turn them back in till they made a funny noise. Keep up the great work and Wrench on!
I would like to see more of the work. I'm a diagnostician and been wrenching for 40+ years but still learning little tricks and sharing many too. Don't need to see basic things but more procedures on certain vehicles because you yourself know that you can't know every vehicle inside and out so watching procedures etc gives good insight when I'm researching specific jobs that I may not be very familiar with.
Great vid. Yep, I use MAP gas (the yellow bottle) quite often to heat up rusted bolts enough to facilitate disassembly. Works great for the vehicle repairs at home. Really enjoy your channel. Thanks for the effort to catalogue your work and share it with us.
When putting rear-end covers on ,cut the head off of two longer bolts and screw them in the housing to use them to line up the bolt holes so you don't mess up the silicone...good video thanks
I believe all season mechanics have techniques they have learned over the years, which helps them save time, it’s all good Kenny, yeah probably more than a few season mechanics are watching and we get it, by the way, I like your , and your procedures are awesome thank you for sharing.
So I'm still wondering.... was there supposed to be a shim on top of that spider gear? Hopefully I got the terminology correct. I was hoping you would have pointed that out on the new one. This is always super awesome stuff to watch! I never get tired of learning! I've learned a few mistakes I make watching your videos, so thank you!!
Hi Kenny, great video. Can you tell me how you refitted the shocks - I'm assuming you had to compress them somehow to get them back on the pins? Cheers
Hey Kenny been watching your channel for a while love your contents and learning a lot but I have one question "WHO IS MOE"i would like hear more about him hope he's not camara shy. Keep up the good work God bless.
Inductive heaters are magic, but as you noted the price is too high for my home shop. Tiny tip on the acetylene torch works well in most places, doesn't put too much heat where it shouldn't go
In New York, you wouldn't be worried about saving the brake lines. If you look at a line here, they break. Plus you'd be replacing the shocks after heating the nuts to get them apart. And don't even think about the u bolts. We just cut em.
I've seen those heaters, only wish I did enough work to justify the purchase. The MAPP gas is way hotter than the Propane. But what I like to do if I don't want to risk cutting the piece with a big burning torch head, I switch to a brazing tip. It will get the bolt plenty hot enough without the risk. I know this is not news to you, but maybe is for a viewer or two.
Showing just one side is fine unless there is something different or you run into a problem on the second side. I really like the short videos you do. Very instructional. Occasional long ones like this are okay but please don't give up the short ones!
So this is rear disk with a separate parking brake shoe.?. What year was the truck.?. My 1997 was old school, park and brake on the same shoe. And it was a 2 wheel drive.
I like how you said verify by hand. Just watching my co-workers ram lug nuts down with an impact worries me. I always verify they are tight with my torque wrench.
I did not do that once and the wheel came off on the customer. Turns out the battery on the impact was low. Other thing is, if you overtorque it to be sure, the customer will never get it off with the wimpy factory lug wrench on the side of the road.. So now I always do a few "clicks" with the impact aand then torque wrench.
Love your videos! But, I would have preferred my brake lines to be removed. Most vehicles desperately need their brake lines flushed anyways. I prefer short videos but I've been a shadetree mechanic all my life and I know a lot of stuff that you show.
Maybe not show everything in video, but maybe a couple side by side shots of before and after what you describe doing off camera, just a few seconds of a still shot
The issue with silicone what comes put on the outside comes out on the inside an axle is no problem on an engine its a disaster they come off and plug oil pickups
Maybe I used the wrong silicone gasket maker but when I used it on a diff cover, it leaked. The instructions did say it needed a 24 hour setup time so maybe I used the wrong stuff. Anyhow, after that experience, I use a gasket on my diff covers and I haven't had any leaks since.
@@mikecopenhaver4484 but most video posters has the mentality that us being viewers and commenters don't know squat. It boils down to just because someone done it for 40 years don't mean it was done right it's just the way they do it.
Why show a REPEAT from Left or Right unless they re significantly Different. Besides I ron all these Repair type Videos at 1.75 to 2 times Speed anyways. I can use the arrow keys to rewind and fast forward. Something most people don't know is one can use the space bar to pause and restart a UT Vid, also when paused the Comma key single frames forward jill and the period key single frames back.
So you’re telling me you can’t get that off of eBay you don’t want to get that taken anywhere offer eBay cause I’m pretty sure they haven’t have a partner for like four
Please don't show entire jobs! What your doing is perfect and gives a clear understanding to anyone needing help with a repair. The videos would just be outrageously long if you show the whole job process.
Don't show every little thing. Most people watch you are experienced. Guts trying change oil and don't know crap can watch beginner videos. On 1a auto. I like people working on 60s cars. Ones I learned on. All drum brakes, carburators and points and condenser.
