the good thing about the coupe version of the 9th gens is that the rear emblem is kinda recessed in so u dont have to use the dry erase marker to make sure that it's on straight. just ordered some jdm emblems for my 2015 si coupe and i'm super excited. thanks for this video guys :D
@@mrchampagne1825 sounds insane but I bought mine from Aliexpress, and they arrived as genuine honda parts in the labeled bags and everything. They were really inexpensive and they're beautiful
Wait.... Safety release? You mean if I kidnap somebody they can just pop a lever inside the trunk and escape? I'm taking it back to the dealership tomorrow. That's bullshit.
we at honda would not like our cars to be involved in any trunk related kidnappings so that it can be shown on 7:00 news. the executives probably said please install a safety release for all those idiots who like lock themselves in trunks thank you
So basically this is a $60+ 3d sticker? Is there an alternative for applying this emblem. I am very interested in this product, I just feel it would be a waste to put on my car knowing someone could just peel it off.
Good idea with the dry erase marker! Top tip for performance driving: Make sure to remove loose items from the vehicle to reduce weight, including tools and Stu-Aways!
+Ryan Crawley The rear would be similar, but the removal for the front is a bit different. The grill is secured a little differently, but should be similar enough to use the bumper removal process to do it.
I just installed them on my 2015. The back does not require removing the trunk trim. Just raise the trunk and look for the light. I snipped the tabs and was done in 3 minutes.
For all you 2014 Civic Coupe Si owners all of this is not necessary as you can access the emblem from the outside. Just cut off as much of the plastic nib as you can, Insert a plastic paint scrapper under the badge, work it towards the center of the badge and it will pop right off. Once i figured this out, it took only few minutes to replace.
Good tip. The reason why we showed this longer version of the install is because it requires a little less skill, and there is less chance of messing up the emblem or the paint. The way you described is definitely faster though, thanks for mentioning this!
***** Hi guys. No, what I meant is that the 2014 Civic Si COUPE Emblem posts are accessible from outside the trunk. You can see the emblem posts right next to the license plate light bulb housing. Take a look at one and you will see what I mean.
I just did this to my 2015 Coupe Si, and I can confirm this process. But if you'd like to maintain integrity of the original emblem, you can take the trunk lining off and from a certain angle, you can squeeze the push pins from inside the trunk, just like in the video. You just have to also unmount the license plate light for easier access.
Is there a website I can purchase the front and back red emblems for my 2014 civic si , it'd look perfect on my red paint ! Also interested on the black bumper lip , thanks !
Yes, just visit our website. Here is the product link: www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/product-892/index.html For the lip, follow this link: www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/product-2844/index.html
Question: to put on the rear chrome H emblem back on the car, do you just put it back on with the tabs on already, or put it on then secure the tabs on the back??
Well, to be honest we probably won't, but you should be able to do it yourself by using a combination of dental floss, a hair dryer, and rubbing alcohol. The trick is to heat up the emblem and adhesive quite a bit, then work your way in with the floss, you can also pour some alcohol over the top to help lift the adhesive.
The chrome strip is pretty easy to remove. If I remember correctly, it's just s couple plastic pinch rivets and maybe a small bolt. I plan to do the same, I'm not a chrome fan.
I was actually thinking of taking my oem emblem off and painting it black and then putting it back on. Will that work ? like can those push clips holding the emblem be re used ??
+M1911Mike I apologize, I may have not made it too clear. Most places show what emblem will fit your model based on application. It will belong to a different year or gen type R, but similar enough that it will fit.
We won't be selling those since they are all fake. Honda only offered the genuine steering wheel badges with the full air bag replacement assembly, which costs a lot of $$$.
I tried to do it on my 2014 honda civic si coupe and damn the clip wonte go at all and it's a really tight space.. you have any idea how can i removed it ?
For the 2014 Si coupe, I believe the factory emblem can be removed just from the outside. If the emblem just uses adhesive, you can get started with the removal with a piece of dental floss.
I've tried on the back emblem and it's holding there with clips and i can't remove it.. Hard access too.. And the front i tried to remove all the grill but i can't either..
mathieu Leblanc I haven't actually removed the emblem from the rear of a 2014 coupe, so I can't really give you the details on how it would be done. I do know that we've had many customer do it though, so it is possible. I general it is best to look for how the emblem is attached. If it is only adhesive, then no need to do anything inside the trunk.
vibes We're experiencing a backorder on some emblems right now. We do note on the site which ones are backordered. I'm very sorry about this. We will ship them as soon as the arrive from Japan. These things are not easy to get!
+MrSmexy702 The coupes have a slightly different design, but similar install process. We also do offer the emblems for the coupes as well. Link in the description :)
Not really. Keep in mind Honda used these exact same emblems on their real Type R vehicles from Japan. Most people don't consider factory Honda equipment "ricey", but you're certainly entitled to your opinion :)
Honda sold the Type R vehicles (like the Integra Type R) in the U.S. and other countries too. Anyways, almost any exterior mod, like these emblems, can be done tastefully if it is not overdone. Simply having a couple emblems or a front/rear lip on your car does not make it ricey.

The adhesive is VERY strong when installed properly. It is not easy at all to get off, and it would not be re-usable at all. Remember, this is how Honda attached the Type R emblems from the factory. The thief would essentially have a paper weight if they took it off. A sticker is a flat piece of vinyl or other material that is easier to remove.
+Christian Guevara There are emblems available for this year as well. However, at the moment, we are having supplier issues from Japan and are no longer carrying them. I apologize for the inconvenience.
