Located in Kobe Japan, Sai Dining serves world renowned A5 - Grade Kobe and Wagyu Beef. Kobe beef is characterized by its fine marbling and tender meat. The melting point of the marbling is so low that it literally melts on human skin which has earned it such a widespread reputation for being the best quality meat in the world. People come from all across the globe to experience this Japanese delicacy. So it was my intention to not only experience this meal at some point in my life, but take a moment to use it to honor the late great Kobe Bryant - one of my favorite basketball players. Sai Dining is about a three hour train ride (bullet train) from Tokyo, so my sister and I decided to stop by for lunch. I ordered the Marbled Kobe Beef Round Steak (11,220 yen) and she ordered the Kobe Beef Round Steak (9,020 Yen). We both ordered the “lunch B” option because it came with the most food: Hors d'oeuvre, potage of seasonal vegetables, colorful salad, grilled seasonal vegetables, rice or bread, dessert, and coffee or tea. The total for the meal plus drinks was about 21,000 yen combined or USD $150. Please keep in mind that at the time of our trip the Japanese yen was very weak in comparison to the US dollar so in reality we got this meal for a bit of a discount ($30-50 less than typical). Nevertheless, the reason for the high price of the meal is because Sai Dining only uses grade A5 meat at their restaurant which is the highest grade. The cows that they gather their meat from are only the best cattle that you can get at auctions and they have multiple plaques in their restaurant validating that these animals are in fact award winning. Overall the meal was as advertised. It was simply the best meal I’ve ever had from start to finish, and this was due to the presentation, taste, showmanship of the chef, attentive staff, and fresh vegetables that accompanied the Kobe beef.
Have you ever been to Japan? Have you ever heard of Kobe Beef or Wagyu? What is your favorite meat? What was one thing from the video that surprised you? Do you plan on visiting Sai-Dining?

Thank you for your great adventures! Japan is really interesting. Globally your videos are stimulating interest in places and experiences for those who seek new adventures. Just an added note. Yeah, Kobe was a great basketball player. RIP Kobe.

Made my reservations here for the spring after watching your video, so excited! Do you get to choose how your steak is cooked (i.e. medium rare, medium, etc.)? Also was there a big difference in taste between your steak and your sister's steak?

Beautiful plating. I wonder how long that chef has trained to reach that level. I often hear of Japanese specialty chefs taking like 10 years to get things perfect. Also apple soda is for adults. I won't hear anyone else's opinions on it.

I bet to work at a restaurant like that… probably minimum 10 years! I looked this up on Google, “The process can take from 2 to 20 years. The terms “Itamae” and “Shokunin” are used as a title for the chef.” So bro was grinding to get to where he’s at in life 😯… impressive. Also I appreciate the comment about Apple soda. You are a man of culture I see 😂😂

Definitely visiting here next week! Quick question is the price per person? And the one you ordered is it the 80g order or 160g order?

We paid right under $200 combined for everything. My biggest take away is go to Sai Dining for lunch if you can. Pricing doubles for the same amount of food if you go at dinner time. According to the website: Average price… Lunch 5,000 JPY…. Dinner 10,000 JPY per person. I hope this helps! And please let me know what you think when you go!!
