@@badgerwildgaming6908 Oh wow that would be fantastic. And while I have you... what's really missing on RU-vid is a WC basics tutorial. At least there's nothing that seems to be current. Most of these WC videos assume you already know the basics, which I kinda don't. A tutorial/guide that explains how to bring up the WC overlay, cycle through targets in A.I. shoot mode, etc would be great.

All that is in tool bar commands things like cycle targets and systems. I can do one on that two may make it a series.

Thanks man, I think this is going to save me and my freinds from resorting to weapon core (actual weapon mods). Being able to slave and stage fire or burst down one point with all turrets totally improves the base game weapons and makes things far more interesting! Arty can properly punch a hole rather than just spread fire across the whole hull.

Got confirmation today that wc does work with custom turret controllers now. It’s a bit tricky, because ctc does some things with ranges that maybe it shouldn’t, but it does work.

can you edit the default ranges of the weapons example turning down the max range of the Gatling back too 800m

Also you don’t need to have the vanilla replacement mod if you don’t want to change the ranges. Just weapon core will replace the vanilla weapons and keep all the ranges and stuff the same.

Having different weapons sounds need, but if my opposition isn't using them in any of the MES mods, then I feel like I just hit alt-f10 and turned on invulnerable mode. How can I use more complicated weapons but have some PvE that is on the same playing field?

Npc mod will take the weapons you have and let the npc ship use them too. Reavers for instance will use the weapons you have like Northwind even tho it will look Janky.

@@badgerwildgaming6908 But that's kind of a brute force edit replace/all, without design intelligence behind it though, right? If the original design of said NPC ship didn't take into account the weapon core capabilities, it surely isn't going to be as much of a challenge as even a noob designed ship with intent, no?

@@badgerwildgaming6908 I wonder if there is one of these mp servers where I can get their mod packs and have npc to fight. After I connect to one, I wonder how to access theods it downloaded, make a save somehow, and take it offline, or if that's even possible

Yes and no. It will give the npcs your weapon core mods but they can't fine tune them like you will be able to. Also the weapons just get slapped on at random so it's not like you will be facing a well ship built around these weapons.

The game should automatically download any mods the server is using so you can play. S.E. is one of the easiest games to mod on the steam store.

Thanks I need to fix that something wrong with the rec software setting. I explained what buttons you need to put in the tool bar to swap or you can go into the weapons setting and set it from there.

Seriously has no body ask this simple fucking question! H0w do i adjust the weapon ranges for NPCs?!!?!!!?!?!!? Checked steam, even the damn mods page and nope. RU-vid, nope, discord nope. Is this not possible? Why am i able to adjust my engagement range if the npcs are just gonna be maxed out? Wtf?

@@badgerwildgaming6908While I'm mining astroids or simply snooping around, npc vessel's whould open fire on me from 2.5 to 3 km every single time, I purposely avoid confrontation due to playing in survival. Any advice? Replacing jump drives is a bitch.

@flamecranium2880 ok in the weapon there should be a range modifier should say range. It's in control panel when you open your ships inventory. There will be a slider that sets the weapon to range. Also the mod may have guns that might out range what you got on your ship if your using npc mods they will equip any weapon mod or vanilla that's in the game.

The mods just add weapon control and replace the vanilla mods so all the weapons act a bit different. It's a very small change that the npcs will have as well they just won't be getting creative with weapon core.

The mod I used to demonstrate has a massive set of cannons that fire shells with nuclear propellant and will disable your other system with the emp at random.

Thing is Weaponcore is extremely unbalanced overall, needs sooo many tweaks and fixes just to balance out properly. I agree it provides some interesting features, but realistically the mod is overall terribly unbalanced and not worth adding in its current state.

Oh ya if you load like the atlas lazer it can be very overpowered. I really wish keen would just fold it into the main game and give it a balance.

@@badgerwildgaming6908 the vanilla enhancements I believe could be rebalanced for SE, however its a complicated thing creating a proper balance. like if you look at Warfare II its not even entirely balanced currently. Autocannons are extremely cheap for the amount of damage they can provide making them your go to weapon and completely obsoleted Gatling Cannons in a PvP environment, in a PvE environment though its not absolutely terrible, but the whole goal of SE is preparation for PvP

Please, the weapon mods themselves are unbalanced, weaponcore is a framework, nothing else, please direct your frustrations to those that make the weapon mods.

To a point they are, however if you have an npc mod on like the one in the Survival Under Fire series the npcs end up using what ever weapons you upload.

If it where another company I would say yes, however keen encourages mods so they can see how the community wants the game improved. Unlike Bethesda space engineers actually takes cues from the modding community and will incorporate those mods into the game. Things such as the custom turrets the railguns two block Wheels all originally were mods that Keen has taken an incorporated into the base line game weapon core may eventually become a baseline system within the game. It's what happens when you have a game company that actually listens to their community and tries to make something that is fun and entertaining over a quick cash grab.

​@@badgerwildgaming6908Lets just also point out its the first mainstream game to have a way to run scripts which for other games would have you banned. They even have a block that allows you while in-game to program something. I understand not many people have the knowledge or time to learn this stuff just for a game BUT! You can always just get scripts which can be just uploaded into said blocks. IT 👏 IS 👏 AN 👏 ENGINEERING 👏 GAME 👏
