I would buy the super teneré immediately if I had the finances. Superb motorcycle that ticks all the boxes for me. Beautiful view through those mountains. I'm envious.
Respect for riding a road like that in the wet on such a big bike, speaks volumes about the bike's handling. Also the views are amazing, where is it located?
Great Explanation. I own the Gen 1 model, The only comment I would like to add, the Tenere will only run on Fuel(Gas) 95 octane Ron or better. This has caused a few problems, if your in a remote location or doing a back country explore, very good luck getting fuel. Preignition (engine knock ) will be your new friend.
Have been riding on unleaded 92 most of my trip in Georgia (called there Euro Premium) :D. Did not notice any problems even up to 2800m above sea level. Will make some videos in winter when time allows.
Thanks for this video. I have a T12 from 2012 but it is definitely so weak when I do not give gas. With just the clutch out, it easily chokes and turns off. I am surprised to see that this is the dead opposite of what you have. I have seen others complain of the same that I am complaining about, so I thought it was a "problem" with this model. Any idea what it can be so I can fix it?
Thank you very much for the explanation. I am fighting to decide should I go for a used 2019-2020 BMW GS 1200 1250 or buy the Super Tenere. I wish Yamaha comes up with an "updated" version of the Super Tenere since this one is getting pretty old in its' tooth. At the moment I own the 2010 TDM 900 and am very happy with it.
Yamaha has communicated that there will be no succesor of the 1200. They will only continue with the 700. Thanks to the press who gave it a lot of bad reviews. Funny because according to the owner reviews they are usualy very good.
