I’m glad some one was brave enough to say it. I like more blues influenced music and don’t dig the electronic stuff as much, but it’s cool if that is what you like. I like a few hip-hop/rap albums and songs but most of it, especially the popular stuff, is just what you said. It’s cheap to produce so that’s what the music industry shoves down our throats. Most people go along with the trends because they want to fit in. Sad.
I don't like rap or hip hop, but I do love 80's Italo Disco and Synth Pop. It's really high energy, sounds great, and really makes you want to get up and Dance. IMO, it's way better than rap music.
Also even modern rock music is lackluster for the most part. I could also recommend something from that genre to salitifie the point, but one if you're interested?
After the year 2000 most rap music that came out was lackluster however I could recommend something to you that would raise your eyebrows from around 2000 if you're interested? I don't disappoint.
I like the odd rap songs here and there but rock and all its subgenres completely blows rap out of the water. Most young people don't want to hear this but you just listen to rap because its the cool thing and you want to seem hip. But rap right now does a way better job of marketing itself than rock.
I liked rap music when I was a kid but I was a kid in the 80s and 90s. The first albums I ever bought were by LL Cool J and Eric B & Rakim. I still listen to my favorite rap groups occasionally-A Tribe Called Quest, OutKast and The Roots-but other than that, I rarely listen to rap. The stuff that’s out today literally feels like it’s lowering my intelligence when I hear it and I prefer music by people with multiple brain cells to rub together.
My african dad said this music is for people who cant sing 😂 they are talking and i didnt think of it that way. Yeah i miss RnB though especially when it would mix with a bit of rap early 2000s did that but now with mumble rap its complete bullshit. You dont understand the words if its trap
A lot of rap sounds the same and it's shows lack of creativity in the genre. But you can say every genre has elements that make every song in the genre similar. I do wish the lyrics were better.
To further what you said in the video even going beyond rap music in general after around the year 2000 is bland & has no melody. You're right but it goes beyond the modern day rap genre.
Who cares about bars? Who cares about political, conscious and spiritual lyrics. Who cares about skills by rhyming in metaphors, punchlines word play, freestyles. That’s Hip-Hop. Only emcees rap like that. Its all about Rap now. Rappers just rap. They’re just not emcees like 2Pac, Biggie, Nas, Rakim, Jay-Z, Eminem, KRS-One, Common, Ice Cube, DMX, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Wu-Tang Clan, Big L, Big Pun etc. That’s Hip-Hop. Rap is what’s its about now. Hip-Hop music sucks. Rap is better. Especially Southern Rap. The South has been taking over the Rap game since the mid-2000’s and their flow, beats, style and culture has now influenced all other regions.
I have just suggested A I will be the final nail. Rap is nothing but a mouthpiece in his nans jewellery and a man with a computer butchering other peoples work.
I rather listen to hard rock and metal or whatever falls in the rock guitar based category. Rap and Hip hop gets me burned out too quick, and the rap lyrics feel like demonic spells, like voodoo chants and they're hard to erase from your mind. Heavy Metal even if they have demonic images on their album work, the music itself is very beautiful and their best lyrics are actually more Christ influenced than they are perceived to be. Rock like Punk, and Alternative drift further away from devil pictures and they sing about random normal things like life as a teenager, pennyroyal tea, and some kid who spoke in class. What variety does rap and hip hop have? Rap dominantly talks about 4 things now.... sex, drugs, gang violence, and it's Afro-American centric. With Rock any race can be themselves and listen to it, while Hip Hop influences people to act like Black-American people.
They are stoned.... it's the pills unfortunately.... Rappers are killing themselves in front of the world..... There are not many rappers who are really happy genuinely.... The happiest rapper that I have seen in my entire life and even if his live is to much different from Tupac I feel they bring the same type of energy to the world and Music.... Harry Mack is showing everybody that we can go further being yourself In my opinion Harry Mack is the only worth rapper listen today...
@@Jonnhy_24 I tend to lean more to Classic Rock, Melodic metal, and Thrash, in general, but I've been listening to some old school Electro R&B type stuff lately like Planet Patrol, I'll check out some Harry Mack too.
Tupac was a trained Ballet dancer, look at his albums and you can see a lot of suspect Gay themes in his album art. Look at his eyes and he wore mascara.
So you were a poser. You listened to it because it was the in thing? The cool thing? Shit while people were listening to rap hack in the 80s, I was listening to Obituary, Maiden, Venom, Kreator....and proud of being out of the in crowd. It's more embarrassing to listen to music you don't like than to just be cool with what you like...even if it is rap crap. But to listen to it because you wanted to fit in....? That's the best example of a poser.
@@samuraibeastwarrior2886 Even when I went thru my Hip Hop phase in life, Rakim never fell in my radar. I listened to Tupac, Nas, and Outkast and grew out of listening to Rap quickly.
