2 years ago I dug up all my mom's 30-year-old plantings of daffodils and tulips . . yow! All of a sudden I had 200 bulbs on my hands! I was sore for days relocating all these gorgeous flowers. Right now, they are all starting to pop up and I'll have hundreds of them blooming very soon!

I have daffodils in a certain area in my garden that I have not touched for 10 years (except for one year where I divided them a bit) and they kept coming back and flowering every year, but I noticed that they got more sunlight than the rest of them and they are also planted in well drained soil, in a raised bed. They seem to grow better on hills and they don't like waterlogged soil. Tulips are the same.

Daffodils have seed pods beneath the bloom. Can you cut these pods and make new daffodils bulbs?

You can save the seeds from the pods and sow them, eventually they will grow into a bulb that produces flowers. You might want to do some googling and find out the process. I would assume it takes a few years from seed to bloom. If you have more than one daffodil variety planted, you may get a new variety due to cross pollination. It might be fun to try!
