I had a financial hardship last year and unfortunately was forced to sell my YXZ. I miss it. TONS of fun but I agree with you. the suspension really was the biggest flaw with the machine.

You should try GX3 plastic restorer (sold at Walmart) on the black plastics. That stuff is MAGIC!!!! Spray on, do not wipe down. Let it set overnight.

That would have been the perfect opportunity to stretch the chassis in order to get rid of the poor rear suspension design issues that are on this unit.

The yxz is such a cool plat form. Like the motor and trans are sick. Like doug said would have been really cool if they worked on the chassis side of things. Imagine the yxz drive train and the new can am chssis combined

I would love to get that old frame. I am a fabricator-milwright. Worked in a bodyshop straightening frames. I have a few engine and transmission ideas to throw at it. I would be willing to pay for the shipping.

YXZ powertrain in a X3 chassis.

When you say the YXZ could use a different suspension design. Is that considering it to be better in the whoops and jumps? I think Yamaha built us a true handling machine for flat track. To change the design would be turning it into every other SXS with high suspension travel numbers. Because we all know suspension travel on paper is what sells SXS's to the masses. For instance, Polaris made sacrifices which cause it to handle like a turd. In favor of more suspension travel, because that's what sells. Build that YXZ into the true handling monster it was designed to be and quit knocking it for being what it isn't.

Totally missed an opportunity for an awesome build. There are so many cool things to do to YXZ's when they are stipped down, AND YOU DID NONE OF THEM! 400hp with a stock 8 year old suspension that was outdated when it debuted.
