Amazing results. I have been dreaming of rebuilding an electric MK2 golf as my daily drive. Sadly the EV scene in South Africa still far far behind every other country.
Brilliant job and loving the wheels. I had a white Mk2 Golf with similar wheels in the late 90's and I think it may have been the nicest car I ever had. Sadly it was crashed shortly after I sold it.
Congratulations!!! Awesome job. Now you can come to Barcelona to extend the battery of my e-Golf from 35,8 up to 60 kWh. Thank you for you interesting videos.
Happy Easter, you can be very proud of the result and enjoy riding with it. I agree the wheel rims look sweet. I normally don't like gold on cars but this is just enough "bad ass" to give it some extra. Enjoy your evening with friends, don't make your wife angry 😅.
Thank you, so glad that you liked it. I feel exactly the same about gold on cars. I guess that’s why I waited so long before I ordered them. I will try not to😅
Very powerful work, but don't press the bonnet, just let it fall from a low height, otherwise there will be a dent there. Sorry this is google translated but I believe you get my point. Excellent. I'm already waiting for the new episode.
Interesting your brake lines run through the grommet in the turret - on my 2 GTI’s they run underneath the chassis leg then circle back to the bracket to meet the flexi. Looks a lot cleaner your way. Excellent build - wish I had half your skills!
Golf looks stunningly clean 👌 look forward to some testing videos.... i taxed (UK) my 16v on 01/04 and it hasn't stopped raining here since 😂 hopefully get it out the garage soon 😎
Thanks for saving another golf ❤ I nearly ordered those wheels for mine a few months ago. I’m glad I didn’t now - I think I prefer the original steel wheels instead. Can’t wait to see what range you can get and charging times, etc. Great project 🎉
Hope this is correct. helt fantastiskt. That is one nice build and credit to you. The coilovers are bad for leaking on the top seals due to the lack of a boot/dust cover. You can get a tough fabric shocker cover which covers the fill spring up to the top mount. I have these on my car.
Congratulations on the excellent result of the restoration and upgrade! Have you considered LED DRL (maybe converted fog lights) and or LED headlights upgrade?
@@flyingtools Yes I guess for the range it would be hardly noticeable. I don't know the efficiency of the DC-DC converter but estimate the total energy saved could be up to 130W out of the main battery. It seems that OSRAM H4 LED Night Breaker are legal (alsoin Sweden) for Golf 2 headlights with type numbers E10 02010 / E15 7-20 / E1 14551. They should save about 50% energy so that is not that much but also provide more light. Maybe one could run also these at reduced voltage and intensity when used as DRL (like in the old SAAB 96) for even more lifespan and energy savings.
0:21 - well, these wheels are too wide and going beyond the wheel house which means by EU laws trouble cause here the police would stop the car and you can not drive any longer. the wheels have to stay inside the wheelhouse which is measured by a thin line connected to a nut hold on the wheelhouse. If the line touches the wheel there is an issue. How do you get a MOT for this ? Different wheels for the MOT moments ? But great progress and really stunning looking car. The dashboard and vents look amazing for its age. I hope to see sun in Sweden soon and nice weather for test rides. Great series ! thanks
It looks worse then it is. I will give it a try. It doesn’t touch the fenders when they are max loaded. Yes I really want to have some good testing whether now☺️
