In some instances it's almost a night and day difference compared to the first ones they released. I loved the entire intro sequence that gave backstory to a character that was almost non existent before. The world is more fleshed out and believable and I'm honestly very curious about part 3 now. What a horrible decision splitting these movies in 2 seperate releases.

It is absolutely insane that they intentionally marketed and released a worser version of these films. The Director's Cut was dope af. The mythology was fascinating and immersive which wasn't present in the PG-13 cuts... Like wtf were they thinking??? Rebel Moon will never get a fair shot bcz of the this stupid ass decision. It ruined the potential brand. Snyder should've never agreed to this.

This directors cut of Rebel Moon Charged my blood in three scenes Where I was genuinely fist pumping and yelling hell yes at the screen. So I have to disagree with you Austin this movie did hit the mark and needed the six hours to tell this story on this way we needed to feel the weight of the villians to feel the weight of our hero’s and we needed to longer scenes in the fields so we can feel the community that was about to go war with the other world machine that was coming down on their villiage so the pacing was fine. Everything was needed to make those three scenes that pumped my blood to work. I loved Dune 2 which is still my favorite film this year and as much as I loved Furiosa it did not make me feel like Rebel Moon the directors cut did this is great pulpy rich story telling and very underrated. That every genre fan should be embracing more. And Ed Skein is the villain of the year hands down. Thanks Austin love your film analysis

I loved them. So much better, the extended farming scenes served the purpose of getting us invested in the land and people they will go to war for before the upcoming battle. and the s*x scenes had a lot of meaning for koras character people saying it was just pointless scenes I completely disagree. 75 for part 1 and 80 for part 2. I really feel like people dumping on the directors cuts are lying and haven't even seen it. The whole hate culture around snyder seems so weird and bizarre, he's such a lovely dude. And yeah I liked army of the dead too.

No one is hating Snyder simply because he's a lovely guy kiddo. People aren't talking about his personality, people are mostly hating him for his filmmaking skills, in which he has a huge problem and is very inconsistent. Just because he's a lovely guy doesn't mean that many people are going to automatically like his movie. Shyamalan seems like a lovely guy too but that doesn't mean I'm going to like his worst movie such as After Earth or The Last Airbender. Same goes to Kevin Feige who seems like a lovely guy working on Marvel but that doesn't mean I'm going to like every single choices that he makes for Marvel. Goes to everybody else who's working in the industry. Hating on someone's personality and someone's talent as a filmmaker are two different things dummy. And makes it worse that Snyder has this cult that is absolutely crazy and ridiculous, you can like a person, that's fine but making it as a cult as if you're worshipping him is too damn ridiculous 🤦 If Snyder makes a good movie like Man Of Steel or 300, I'll appreciate him. But if he makes a terrible mediocre movie like this, there's no need for me to protect him from criticism 🤷

Visually this was one of the impressive things I’ve ever seen. I skipped the pg 13 versions so maybe that helped. That last battle was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I agree with you about the sex scenes. Honestly helped me understand the character more. I actually liked all the characters. I don’t say that about many movies now adays. I even liked the farming scene. It didn’t bother me. I was like this is what the characters are doing so this is what I’m doing. I haven’t liked a movie this much in a long time.

@@Fl0k5ser his slow motion shots are dope though. And I actually got invested in the story. I thought all the acting was really good. While I acknowledge the flaws. I don’t get how anyone could say this is terrible. I just appreciate the swing. I don’t see anyone trying to make hard r space operas. The art direction alone is incredible. And I didn’t just think it was pretty pictures. Although I am a photography nerd so that definitely made me enjoy the farming scene a lot more. That’s right the scene everyone hates I liked. I actually liked the characters. I liked the last battle. I’ve honestly never seen anything quite like it. Maybe it just resonated more with me. Idk. It’s just a bummer to see something that clearly a lot of time and care went into. That I really enjoyed. And I come online and the rest of the world hates it. It’s just weird for me. I usually agree with people about movies. But I’m so far on the other side of the fence on this one. It’s a strange feeling for me.

I saw both chapter 1 and 2 director cuts and it was amazing, I felt that there was more brought into the characters there "why's" and "how's" were explained better. As well as seeing the gore in the violence and of course sexuality. It does not hit Star Wars, but it does make things realistic, I hope there will still be a chapter 3 and to make it better he can add Matt Reeves in the project to add more deepness as well as great writers from great movies. Overall I give Rebel Moon Directors Cut part 1, 9 out of 10 and part 2 9.5 out of 10.

Here’s my thoughts of the director’s cuts. They were epic , but the sex was a little bit more than I expected,without that the film was already R rated. These films are already very violent they did not need the sex scenes to be rated R. Similarly In the PG-13 cuts they did not need the jokes in the scenes implying that sex did happen. But I did enjoy the added opening to part one. That ads depth to both the Admiral and Private Aris. I also appreciated the extra Anthony Hopkins. I love the Slow motion. Part Two I liked that the battle was an hour longer than the last time I had seen the first time. Back to the tangent about the sex scenes , anyone that Cora has sex with ends up dying in the end of Part 2 so what Importance do the sex scenes really serve.? they do nothing to drive the plot forward. Gunnar and the other guy both end up dying in the end so without the sex scenes the movies would make more sense. The movies would still be long movies . I love Zack Snyder’s movie’s. I give an 8/10 for the Part one Directors cut and a 7/10 for the Part two Directors Cut would have been higher if they were done without the sex scenes. The first cuts get some where from 5-6 each.

The sex scenes do serve importanrance, but you just think of sex as porn from what i am seeing and not 'love'. It shows the difference how Kora felt about the man at the beginning of part 1 where she did it just for thr sake of it, while with Gunnar in part 2 it was for love and the feelings she had with the man. The tones on those two sex scenes was so differrent so i have no idea how you didn't catch why those scenes exists.

The thing is, Snyder could've easily made a good PG13 Rebel Moon movie. Just give each characters good writing and not care so much on slow motions, gore, sex, nudity, all these stuff that's very unnecessary, we could've had a decent Rebel Moon movie in PG13 while also being excited over an R Rated Director's Cut. I'm sure having way too much slow motion that ruined the pacing is more on Snyder than Netflix. We can't keep blaming studios forever you know

Or if it's been fully made on their end, but parts have been cut, warped, and edited differently then how originally meant to be. Then it will be a poor facsimile of the original intent or design. This is why (and this is a literal fact) the majority of his movies(and the works of many other creatives) have shown better results with audiences and critics without studio interference. I wouldn't blame the studio, if each and every time the result of a product wasn't better without their interference.

@@darryljack6612 Sure, but at the same time, the idea of Rebel Moon PG13 on paper seems worked and interesting if Snyder just actually care about some damn good writing instead of just a bunch of unnecesarry slow motions, sex, gore, and nudity. Matt Reeves managed to make a dark and gritty Batman movie by having PG13, surely Snyder could've done it too with PG13 as he described it as a dark and gritty version of Seven Samurai and Star Wars. And about that results, i guess looking at the Rebel Moon Director's Cut review, i mean yeah improvment some but still not much to save the movie from it's mediocrity. So i guess the solution to all this is to not have Snyder as writer and just hired somebody else who can write far better scripts than he does,

@@Fl0k5ser Except those elements indeed added more to the current version and people are saying they added more to the current version. This iterally proves that they weren't pointless. Whatever pg13 version there was, only suffered without them and because of studio interference. Also... Snyder aside, do you hear what you are saying. Your argument is boiling down to that he should just suck it up and make something that he doesn't want to, something that knowingly goes against his passion and vision. Why would any artist have to go through that, when they could make the art they actually have a passion for making.
@Fl0k5ser
@Fl0k5ser 2 месяца назад
@@darryljack6612 I mean, I don't see how sex, gore, nudity would've make it any better. I can understand if it's Deadpool but Rebel Moon. Like really? I tried watching it, I felt like cutting those including the unnecessary slow motions could've been so much better in the first place. There's so many things for the PG13 movie that could've been a great start with this R Rated Director's Cut as a bonus instead of being so desperate "Make something that he doesn't want too". Okay, but Snyder seemed perfectly okay with the PG13 cut. This isn't a Justice League situation dude. This is a movie where Snyder was given so much creative control to do whatever he wants, the note that he was given from Netflix was just making it PG13. That's it, the characters, the world building, the editing, the slow motions are all his choice. I'm just saying that the alternative choice that Netflix demand him could've just make things even better so he and Rebel Moon don't have a bad reputation leading all the way for the franchise. I still think a PG13 of Rebel Moon could've easily worked if Snyder put a lot more care to the script and not so much on those slow motions that ruined the pacing, the Director's Cut had more of it which makes it kinda of a slog too 🤷 And again, Snyder without studio interference still doesn't guarantee a good quality. Sucker Punch is an example of that, Man Of Steel is pretty divisive, yet these newer versions of Rebel Moon, while improves the previous version, still faces struggles with critics and audiences reviews🤷

I refused to watch the PG-13 versions. Netflix tried to take advantage of a fan base who joined together as a result of a studio that screwed their director over during a sensitive time in his life. WB forced Snyder to cut down his film and with Justice League completely changed it behind his back, that's why the fans demanded the Snyder Cut. And further that it's well known DC characters. Rebel Moon started out as an idea in the 90's and at one point was going to be a Star Wars film. Netflix clearly saw Snyder's desperation to get this passion project off the ground and he once again compromised his vision. Who gets the backlash though, not Netflix, but Snyder and as you stated many people watched the cut versions so why would they come back if they didn't like it. I only watched the first few minutes of the first film when it came out and when I put on the director's cut immediately you got a different vibe. And to make matters worse, Snyder made a deal with Netflix who hates physical media. So unless you're willing to steal by getting bootlegs you are forever constrained by your internet connection. I'm about ready to byy Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves on a bootleg because I've paid into the service enough to actually own it. The films themselves I thought were great. While there are moments that could've been cut out I'm glad they weren't because they added character depth. I viewed it like I view Kill Bill or Infinity War/Endgame, as one film. The first film is your world building and set-up while the second half is the calm before the storm and the conclusion of the story. I am disappointed in Snyder for letting his reputation be further damaged by another studio who doesn't actually care about the art of filmmaking. At least with WB they eventually released ZSJL on physical media and other HBO Max shows get releases after a while.

Which makes it seem like he " cAnT wRiTe" , he can. The directors cuts are the actually original vision of the story. And they're greatly executed.

Good day sir. I enjoyed your view. You get a follow & I turned on the notification bell. Why? You actually while having issues with what was presented previously, you mention what took place between Netflix and Snyder which means you actually watched the interviews to get "first hand info". My thing is that if Netflix wanted a PG version, they should have released both versions at the same time. that way people who can't deal with the R-Rated version get what the want and we get what we want. I actually love the both movies and gave the 9.5 out of 10. Great video. Have a wonderful day sir! ❤🙏

Imagine Snyder continued his JL movies and WB gave him control. We would have seen 91% of it in slow motion, especially them doing their daily chores and might as wel have seen Bruce and Lois getting it on, maybe even Darkseid in flashbacks and more gore and that possibly Bruce got ***** in prison since he did once said that.

This all falls on Zach Snyder. Almost no director in the world gets such complete control of a 160M budget as he did. What he produced didn’t interest many people into watching extended versions. That’s on him. I suspect most people turned these movies off before the halfway point. It makes no sense to watch an extended version of something that you feel is a bad movie.

It is. Went from a Disney to a Disney+. The movie is still bad. Terrible characters and bloated to the brim with edgy nonsense and grain farming. The added story beats help make it a more cohesive movie but that doesn't make it great. And snyders idea of a mature adult film is so juvenile. His takes on sex and violence are about as mature as a teenage boy who just discovered hardcore porn and read their first issues of the Boys. That type of violence can work in a movie like Deadpool were the violence is supposed to be over-the-top and not taken as seriously. But Zack wants you to view these movies seriously so the violence comes off as comical.

The Director's Cut was flawless. I've watched over 40 years of movies, probably more. It was a tight story with outstanding pacing and incredible cinematic moments. It was a graphic novel told on film. It was a GREAT ride. I don't really understand where all the out of proportion outrage and vitriol comes from, other than brown women taking on the paleface empire and winning is probably triggering to alpha incels.

better or good? because Transformers is better than the originals, and Transformers is trash, and a 3hr movie have to be great!, not just "better than trash, and adding sex to make it R makes nothing for me, who over 13yrs care about sex in movies? and even worse, with the actors chemistry, I don't believe even a handshake between them. Let's stop making excuses for Snyder, he's become a caricature of "trash movie", just Michael Bay with less lens flares and more slow mo; "vision"?? is a rip-off of an already re-adapted time and time again story that wasn't even groundbreaking in the 50s and copying the irrelevant adding fluff in exchange of what made Seven Samurai great, I really can't watch his movies not sarcastically, they all look like the fake trailers of Tropic Thunder, missing only some shaking booties in slow motion.
