This series on the rebuild clutch and adjusting valve is about what I need to check into. You have made the most intensive How to from ground up and I cant tell you how helpful it has been for my scooter.
I'm glad I got the wreck from my friend. It was a "challenge" to say the least, but it is so much fun to ride, that I sometimes take it out instead of the Tmax. Need to get some better shocks for it now.
Still riding, but haven't needed to make a video for a while. Thought I was going to do the "valve check", but decided to wait a year. With the Honda fixed, I don't ride the Tmax as much as I used to. The Elite is too much fun!
Hello mr. wheels. I also have a love affair with the ch250. I have the parts to redo the bearing on the swing-arm. Have you done that task before? Also, thank you for taking the time to produce these vids to keep our machines running. I recently did a ton of work on mine but too lazy to document.
I love all the helpful videos, very well done. I have a question I cannot seem to hold the fins on the front plate tight enough while I drive the nut off of it. How do you recommend for someone without that Tmac tool you have?
Thanks for the videos. I have a 2011 Yamaha TMax and at about 35 mph it has an on off noise. It sounds like a rattle or rubbing. I’m 70 years old and don’t hear well especially with wind and road noise. Do you have a suggestion as to what it may be and where would be a good place to start looking? Thanks again.
Depending on how many miles you have, it may be time for a new CVT belt and possibly the rollers too. Best to change out the rollers when you change belts. A sticky roller can "bang around" in the Varitator and make a lot of noise. Check the brake pads too, as they may be worn out.
Thanks, it has 8415 miles. While riding yesterday I tried listening again and to me it does sound like it is coming from the Variator area. My question is, does it need to be serviced right away or can I put it off until cold weather?
I changed out my belt at 12k (didn't need it) so you have a ways to go yet. Just keep an eye/ear on it to see if it gets any worse. If I don't wear my ear plugs the noise the scoot makes is almost unbearable ,from the air getting sucked into the injectors, and other sounds.
No, I just flushed some gas through the carb from the fuel tank and let it drain out the "drain screw". I told myself that if the scoot didn't start, I would take it apart to clean. But it runs like a champ, so I didn't have to. I put a little bit of Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas to keep the carb clean.
oh thanks that's actually a good idea, i might go pick up some from NAPA. I am having an issue with my CH250, where every time I decelerate I get little pops in my exhaust, mini backfires. I took off my exhaust and found that there was no exhaust gasket so I just ordered one. Hopefully that fixes the issue. Do you have any experience with this or maybe some advice on what I should look at? Thanks!
I think the valves need to be adjusted. It's pretty simple and I thing I did it in this video. You have the SM? If not, watch the video. The hardest part is finding the "little mark" on the end of the camshaft to mark TDC. Use a really strong light to find it.
You think adjusting the valves on my Honda Elite CH250 would help with the small back fires? Okay I will see If I can figure out how to do that but I cant seem to find the video where you adjust the valves to the honda. hm
