In this video we work out whether it is easier to rebuild or scrap a set of 200 series Blackhawk Upper Control Arms. We have taken our 200 series through a lot of rough and tough terrain over the last 100,000kms of travelling, towing and offroading. How have these arms held up?? Would it just be easier to buy new or is it worth rebuilding these UCA's??

Cheers for that mate, it is the tight arse/mechanic in me to not just buy a new set and save myself about $500 🍻🍻

No mention of greasing the upper ball joint? What did you use etc?

Oops sorry, came prebgreased but I just use the same grease for the bushes and driveshaft etc

Are those polyurethane bushings? I was under the impression that you can torque the upper control arm bolt with the truck on a lift with that type of bushing due to how it sits in the control arm vs a standard bushing. I just did JBA control arms and they said it was okay to torque the bolt down while truck on jacks and suspension not loaded. ( l lowered it to the ground and loosened and re-torqued bolts just to be safe) Just curious on your thoughts

To be honest I couldn't tell u, it is just has been drilled into me when I was an apprentice so it is just a habit now... I suppose just follow the instructions specific to the product used 👌🍻🍻

Cheers mate, always nice to help out if I can 😎 we didn't get any of that sort of protection as we knew we were going to be going pretty hard on it and would probably just re-paint or cover after we were finished with it.... that doesn't really help I know but it has held up incredibly well for the amount of tight tracks and dirt roads we have taken it on 🍻🍻
