Every time I watch these rebuild videos, it gets me excited for when I have to send my hotshot boots in cause I know it will be like the first day I set my eyes on them!
I wish Nick’s would have been using the same adhesive when they built my last pair. That employee had a difficult time getting the heel off, and mine are separating at the leather stack on the front of the heel. Great boots though.
1:13 these boots looked particularly difficult to rip apart. Especially that heel. Why the switcheroo? Or was one dude given the left boot and one the right? I didn't notice
Awesome skills! I love watching you work... but I can't help thinking... what's the point... you reused 30% of the original boot and rebuilt it at 2-3 times the cost of new...
Can someone explain why you’d get a boot restored rather than just buying a new pair of boots? Honest question… Is it simply for the sake of salvaging any materials that aren’t worth waisting? And which part of the boot are those materials? Here it looks like mainly just the outside leather which has already been broken in and the consumer likes that it’s already broken in? I’m really curious and I’m sure you’ve answered it a hundred times in past videos, BUT I NEED TO KNOWWWW!!! 🙏😬
Hi! It is significantly cheaper, we do rebuilds for $319 instead of $500-$600 (new boot cost). In addition the upper leather that we do keep, although not a majority of the boot, makes the next break-in much better on your ankle and leg. It is also somewhat of a loyalty program, we offer it to keep our customers boots working as long as we can for cheaper. Thanks for the question :)
Maybe they have sentimental meaning? Maybe they were a gift from someone special? Guess he'll have to check in with you next time he needs a boot decision.
